Thanks to Mauro and his crew for taking on a huge job, they knocked it out of the park. They were…read morefast, efficient, clean and most of all safe. Thank you for the great work you have done and will definitely be working with you from now on and am recommending Sierra Pacific Tree Care Inc. to everyone.

We were in need of a tree service company to remove some trees close to our home and some that were…read morediseased. We also needed some old stumps grinded and a bit of tree trimming. We contacted a number of companies in the area and four companies provided quotes for us. One of those companies was Sierra Pacific Tree Care. We have only the best things to say about this business. From the very beginning, the company was super responsive and came out in a timely manner to give us a quote. The office manager, Liz was an excellent communicator. She was patient and always was able to answer our questions or get back to us quickly with an answer. We were told by the owner, Mauro that some of the stumps may not be able to be grinded but he would do his best. On the day of work, Mauro showed up with six workers, heavy equipment and trucks with trailers. To our absolute delight, Mauro's fleet of men were super hard working, running up our hill at a quick quip to get the job done. Some of the men were high up in the trees cutting down branches and piece by piece logs. We must mention that there were power lines tethered to two of the trees needing to come down and the men were very careful and skilled so that the power lines remained intact. We also have to give kudos to Mauro. He is not one of those owners who sits back and watches the work being done. He got his hands dirty, literally by working the grinder and removing numerous stumps. It was an all day job and the crew broke for a 30 minute lunch before getting back at it. When all of the work was done, the crew cleaned up all of the debris, sawdust and logs. Their work ethic was truly admirable. We were very impressed with the work and will use them in the future. We highly recommend Sierra Pacific Tree Care for any tree job.

Scott Simpson Tree Removal

We recently had a very large and challenging tree removal project involving the removal of 6 trees…read morethat were 24" in diameter. One tree was hanging over the house which added to the complexity. Steep terrain made it difficult to remove the trees and debris. This project took 18 hours to complete! (2 days) Scott Simpson arrived with his crew of 6 and started promptly at 8am. They were very professional, knowledgeable, and efficient in clearing our property to ensure all the defensible space issues were addressed. If you are looking for an experienced, trustworthy tree removal service provider, Scott is your go-to guy! He'll provide a fair quote and excellent service. He and his crew exceeded our expectations on such a difficult project. Not a single bottlecap was left behind. :-) Thank you Scott & Team! We highly recommend World Tree Removal.

Beware of Scott Simpson (aka World Tree Removal)…read more I can't emphasize enough to avoid this man at all costs. He is a known pest on the West Shore of Tahoe who will persistently harass you into unlicensed, untaxed, uninsured, and unpermitted tree work. If you don't hire him, he will harass you via text, phone calls, and will show up at your front door at any and all hours. Where do I begin with this operation... - His standard MO is to approach you directly at your home in his absurd white Jeep truck. He will immediately hand you a flyer with his "license" and "insurance" photocopied on it to give him some sense of legitimacy. From there, he'll give you some pitch about doing a job down the street, and that he can only do your job within the next day or two, while he has his crew in the area (BS!). Next, he'll move on to the bid, and he will give you an extremely high price, which he'll then come off immediately if you "pay cash" - not a check, but physical greenbacks (which I'm sure he is declaring on his taxes). If you tell him you've got to think about it, or get other bids, he'll start lowering the price, and then use pushy sales tactics "one time only"... "price will go up"...."we're moving on".... etc, etc. - Then the phone calls begin.... expect him to call you at least once, if not twice a day, every single day. He won't leave voicemails. - If you don't respond, then the unannounced house visits will begin at all hours. Evenings, weekends, holidays.... no time is off-limits for Scott to disturb you at your house. If you are unlucky enough to have first contact with him early in the season, you can expect months of his presence. But Scott, I thought you were only in the neighborhood just that one day?? - If you tell him you aren't interested, are using someone else, or to leave you alone - watch out! This guy has a red-hot temper, and he knows how to use it! As other reviews have stated, he will berate you with obscene language, insult you, and accuse you of all sorts of outlandish things. Believe it or not, this won't be the end of it.... maybe he has short-term loss, but he will likely approach you AGAIN after all this... - He is operating under the company "World Tree Removal Inc" which has been an invalid, suspended corporation in the state of CA since 2019. - His "insurance" agent would not confirm the validity of his liability insurance policy. Does he have insurance? Maybe, but when the agent listed on your evidence of insurance certificate won't confirm that it's valid, that's a red flag! - He operates with a "Timber Operator License", which he will undoubtedly present a copy of when you first meet him. I called the CLSB (State Contractor's Licensing Board) and they confirmed that this is NOT a valid contractor's license for residential tree jobs but rather something to do with commercial logging operations. Good try Scott but swing and a miss.... - Ask him if he needs to pull a TRPA tree removal permit for a large tree that is not 100% dead, and he'll brush that off as unnecessary. If you have any familiarity with TRPA, you know they will issue 4-5 figure fines for unpermitted tree removal code violations, which are issued to the contractors AND homeowner. All over a $50 permit.... - You might think dealing with Scott is worth it for a deal... but you'd be wrong. I had two local, reputable, insured tree operators bid the exact same job at HALF the price of Scott's "cash only, limited time offer" pricing.... I suggest you support the locals playing by the rules... To top it all off, Scott was involved in a PHYSICAL altercation with one of the locals when he was approaching about doing a late-night tree job in the neighborhood. The sheriff was involved.... enough said.... That covers the Scott Simpson saga. If you are in Tahoe, I can't suggest enough to avoid this man at all costs, and support local tree companies that are playing by the rules, live in the community and aren't out to harass you. The best part of this Fall will be Mr. Simpson heading back down the hill to Auburn. Until next season....
