Be careful bringing your loved ones here... This place might not be the safest... I was visiting a family friend and heard a lot of commotion and a man screaming and yelling irractically from the kitchen and next thing we know the cops show up we asked a housekeeper who worked there if everything was okay and they said a lot of bullying and drama happen here everyday between all the employees not really professional if you ask me, these are all grown adults working here too what a shame. It was very dirty in the halls and in the room very disappointed this is where I have the people I love staying and I hope to move him soon. Get it together and maybe don't hire convicts who are on probation because that's what I was told the man who was yelling is and caused a scene. read more

This is so disheartening. I had a family member here, and quickly decided this place was not for them. One day when I came in, I overheard one of the caretakers. I recall she had a thick accent and was white, and I believe her name was Athena say something extremely inappropriate to my family member. She said that he pees too much and that he "pees like a camel." That was very offensive and disturbing to hear. Who says something like that to a patient? I am honestly glad I stayed in the bathroom just a little bit longer. She probably thought nobody was in the room And felt comfortable to Make that inappropriate statement It gets worse When I came to visit once, I saw two Black foreign ladies taking a man to the restroom. While I was visiting my family member, I could hear them yelling aggressively at him, telling him to stop moving and to sit. It was so loud I could hear it from where I was. That did not make me feel. My dementia father was left in his urine hours upon hours The clients are being mistreated here by the foreigners that they're hiring , and the hallways smell like urine due to the lack of proper care. The high turnover rate means terrible people keep walking through the door. There have been so many caregivers since my father has been here. I quickly realized I was wasting my money-- If you have a family member here go check on them ASAP and see their conditions. Stop hiring foreign people who are only in it just for the check and not for the care. If you want your facility to be here for long, I would highly recommend evaluating those individual I mentioned. read more

This place doesn't even warrant any stars . If you care about your loved ones even the tiniest bit, run don't walk as far as you can. They neglected to tell anyone r about the rampant covid cases and we visited our suddenly dying Mother. It was on the news two days later. They did not follow proper proper guidelines. Our experience started out OK, but quickly degenerated. My father got a bedsore the first month he was there. Despite assurances that he would get the care he needed, he did not. Long periods without checks or food. They have no system to guarantee each resident is being monitored - no checklist, nothing. When our hospice provider complained about neglect she was summarily denied access to the facility. In short, the place looks nice, and the staff are pretty good. The head nurse and director are awful and have no business taking care of anyone. They lied to our faces over and over and consistently failed to ensure my dad was receiving decent care. We have video evidence and have reported them to the authorities. We have moved my father to another facility in Allen where he is getting the care we expect. Avoid this place if you care. read more

Our initial start was pleasant enough but after numerous management changes this establishment went downhill quickly. Poor quality and variety of food. Little or no entertainment or activities. Very unhappy staff but most caretakers tried. Even though other companies come through to help residents with daily cleaning etc the overall care and checks is extremely poor. Sadly my family member passed and although I would have liked to move him to another facility I was advised it would confuse him more. I have absolutely nothing nice to say about this place but would advise you to look elsewhere. It is so pitiful that these places are not regulated more. So if you are looking for care for a family member look beyond appearances. Visit unannounced at different times. Check meals. See what activities are provided. Look at residents and how clean they are and if they are not just stacked in rooms in front of television. But AVOID this place!!! read more

My mother has been at Arbor Hills for over 4 years. The staff is kind, considerate, compassionate, caring and very loving. They address any questions or concerns immediately. Arbor Hills is clean, has no odor, is furnished appropriately. I have stayed overnight at Arbor Hills with my mother and have had at least 2-3 checks in the night to ensure her safety. They have monitors in the rooms to detect if the resident is trying to get up by themselves. I am very thankful for Melissa, Hannah, Nicole, Krystal, Joe, Eleanor, Connie and Sharon, they have always made us feel like family. If I thought for one minute that my Mother was not being well cared for, she would not have been there 4 years. Thank you Arbor Hills read more

Listen to what Wade wrote. My grandmother fell and hit her head HARD. When I say hard I mean it looks like she went a few rounds in the ring. Was not ever evaluated by a doctor, PA, NP, anything. This "dr" simply signed off on her xray and that was the end of it. Apparently she didn't need to be seen because her x-ray was negative for fractures. See the way I thought it worked was when you have an injury or illness, you see a provider anyway to rule out anything that may not be immediately visible. Especially for a patient in her late 80s. When the family went up there to speak with someone (we also didn't have a clear timeline as to when this happened) the charge nurse Claudia actually said she didn't have time for this and we needed to talk to the center director. This is how your charge nurse speaks to concerned family? This is not the first time she has given attitude either. She always comes off like she is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Perhaps they should hire an actual RN or BSN to be the charge- not an LVN. Trust me there is a big difference in the level of school and education involved and apparently she needs a few more semesters on compassion and understanding. If my patient is black and blue in the face after a fall then I am going to be on the phone with the attending and insisting that the patient be seen because that is my obligation to my patient. And this is her third major fall now. The woman who does the salon charges an obscene amount of money to shampoo and trim hair or do nails. How's $400/month sound for those? I don't pay that for my manicure, pedicure, highlights, and haircut combined. I work triage at a massive 12 provider practice in Dallas with over 15,000 patients in the system. And anytime a head injury pops up we are following up and making sure that patient is OK. I am not quite sure why the nursing staff at this place doesn't seem to be able to communicate with a patient's provider to make sure that their needs are being met as conditions evolve and change or why the doctors don't deem it necessary to see patients after a trauma. Definitely researching the best private home health so we can get her the heck out of there. read more

Whenever I think of Arbor Hills, one word comes to mind: love. Our mother has been a resident there since September, 2015 and while transitioning to the new environment at times has been quite difficult for our mother, the love and care of the dear ladies of Arbor Hills has allowed it to pass as gently as I think possible. I have watched the interaction between residents and staff, and have always been impressed with the compassion and patience displayed- as if they were tending to the needs of one of their own parents. And these observations are at all levels, whether it be the day-to-day handlers, the activities director, the maintenance man and yes- even the director of the facility. I have on more than one occasion observed the director interacting with and caring for a resident as though they were one of her own parents. I am extremely grateful for the people of Arbor Hills and the way they care for not only my mother, but all residents. In a word, love. read more
