Sochi style cheese bread.

My wife and I are visiting Fresno for a few days. I have learned that Fresno has a decent population of Armenians so I wanted to try some good Khachapuri, which is a popular Georgian dish also enjoyed by Armenian. When I walked into this market, I noticed that the place is very clean, organized, and well maintained. I ordered the Sochi style cheese bread (Khachapuri) and was told to wait approx. 20 min. The staff were very friendly and courteous when taking my order. I then dine at one of the 2 tables outside. The Khachapuri had a delicious, chewy, cheesy center. It was not too oily but I did wish the crust to be a bit thinner so it could be a little softer. Overall, it tasted much better than the one I had in DD Karabakh Farmers Market a few miles away and also better than the one I had in Pasadena.

I been passing by this place a couple times when I would visit next door and I finally gave it a try. They have their menu outside so you can even see the prices beforehand. Inside is a little market and they even have some produce. They carry alot of home made stuff in the fridges like hummus, garlic sauce, cabbage rolls just to name a few. I grabbed the spicy hummus with their pita chips. It was alright, not spicy to me. And I also got their chicken and beef plate. It came with rice pilaf, a salad, garlic sauce and pita bread. It was quite a wait but ik that's cus they was making it fresh. She did come out n apologized for the wait and lmk how much longer.. I finally got my food and tried it at home. The rice alone was good. Not dry or overcooked. The meat pieces were pretty big! Nice and tender. The garlic sauce complimented the meats well with the pita bread. The salad was refreshing but really was just okay since it was mainly cucumber and tomatoes.. I still ate everything up.

Amazing lunch options, unique and delicious market treats, and probably some of the tastiest European desserts Ive found in a bodega. My wife and I were looking for Mediterranean food and Arrat Market popped up. While I don't think this place is a true Mediterranean restaurant they do offer delicious Mediterranean focused plates. We ordered two Chicken kebab plates with a side dzadziki (yogurt sauce) and extra pita. The food was amazing. The chicken was super juicy and full of flavor and the rice was a perfect mix of al dente yet not try. Dzadziki, which I've never seen it spelled like that, was super fresh and the crispy cucumber added a nice crunch. Definitely a revisit dinner spot and they take phone orders! While we waited for our food we shopped around. This place is small, but they have so much good stuff here. Tons of international spices, candies, and jarred items. We left with some spices, a bag of cinnamon cookies, and lots of sweets for the kiddos. Can't wait to head back here and sample more of their menu and get a few more sweet treats!

Great customer service at this mom and pop shop! First time here, and will be back. I order the chicken and beef combo plate. It was about 10-15 min wait but the meat was so tender and juicy - not dry or rushed through the cooking process which I appreciate! The salad was nothing special, garlic sauce was well balanced!

Extremely poor customer service by woman at front register. 2pm on 5/2/2025 My husband and I came in to see what the market had to offer the community because we had been drawn in by the amazing marketing on the windows while in the area. Once we entered, Staff did not acknowledge us at all like most small businesses. When I asked her a question she stared at me until I was finished speaking. Instead of answering the question, she began to speak with a customer. The customer did not respond to the staff initially, which led to her answering my question. I would like to clarify that the customer was not an employee and attempted to respond to my inquiry. I'm unsure if there was a communication barrier but this is America, respectfully, and we primarily speak English. Please have someone who speaks English work here and/or if she does speak English, she can use some customer service training. Thank you, I do wish your business the best.

The ONLY reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the garlic sauce was very bland and the cashier gal was not rude but wasn't social at all. Seemed shy, very quiet, didn't suggest anything. My husband took it as rude but I didn't. The 6 chicken chunks were huge, so tender, juicy, flavorful. The salad could have used more fatoush and lettuce. The rice was perfect. I'll definitely come back. I added spicy olives for that zang I felt was missing. Quaint little store with an array of products.

One of my favorite places to get Mediterranean food. Nicest people. Call and place your order ahead of time.

For me, those…read morenames alone bring back my grandmother's cooking, and dinner begins with a little more goodwill than the restaurant has yet had to earn. In Fresno, where the Armenian community reaches back almost to the city's beginnings, food like this carries a particular weight. Restaurants are places to eat, but they also keep a connection to kitchens and people you miss. The pleasant dining room and generous patio make a good first impression. So do prices that suggest you might come back on an ordinary Tuesday. The lulu kebab was good. The pilaf and bulgur alongside it were more puzzling: properly cooked, but almost entirely without flavor. The vermicelli in the pilaf hadn't been browned, missing the toasted quality that makes it worth adding in the first place. Whatever chicken stock might have been involved was keeping a low profile. Salt seemed to have missed dinner altogether. Perhaps remembering my grandmother's cooking set the bar a little high, but wanting another forkful of rice does not seem an unreasonable expectation. The staff were friendly when they appeared, although appearances were infrequent enough that a simple dinner stretched to two hours. A large patio is a lovely thing; ample time to contemplate its dimensions is less essential. There is plenty to like here, particularly a menu I was happy to see and a bill that comes in below many comparable places. But the rice needs the same attention as the kebab, and the tables could use a little more of it, too.

She truly made me feel welcomed and accommodated. She answered all my questions and offered a lot of suggestions, every single one was SO GOOD! She was so nice and I really enjoyed talking to her. It felt like I was at my aunts house. Everything I tried from here was amazing. First, I got half a dozen lahmajoon (Armenian meat pizza) for just $15 which is the most decent price in town. They're so much more expensive in LA. The flavor was perfect and it was a filling and satisfying lunch. I also got the spinach and cheese byorek which was huge! As soon as I put it in my mouth, it was love at first bite. I don't know what kind of magic they baked into that, but it's addicting and I'm craving more of it!! I got their famous banana cannoli and it was so creamy and dreamy. That flavor of banana really shines through and the shell had perfect texture. I tried some of their other flavors of cannoli as well and each one was just as delicious and flavorful. Their gata, ohhhh their gata.... Wow. It was just the right amount of sweet and it danced in my mouth. Pair it with tea or coffee and your taste buds will thank you. It was soft enough to not crumble everywhere when you take a bite and the filling was out of this world. Even their bread (called Barbari) was fluffy and smelled like heaven. It's a versatile bread that you can use with anything and it's even yummy on its own. I made a sandwich with it and I don't think I can go back to regular bread. So if you're hasty for a tasty pastry, 100% you should run to this bakery!
