You get wanna be cops going around giving citizens violation notices for things like having propane tanks on your camper (lawfully stored on the side on the house in a designated parking spot) or on your propane firepit, bare spots in your lawn after having a main line replaced and the grass hasn't grown back yet despite two rounds of seeding, fertilizing and watering (with water restrictions in place from the city). Then at the city parks you have overflowing trash cans, you have homeless camps with trash and drug use, you have a homeless camp just about every block. You have gun shots every night, you have burglaries, unresponsive cops (72 hour response times), you have a joke of a justice system, these criminals are back out on the streets the same day (if they even bother to apprehend someone). Don't even get me started on their public school system. Just look up the ratings, it's an embarrassment. This city has got to be one of the worst rated cities in the country at this point. If you are looking to move here, don't. Live in any city in the state except this god forsaken place. You will thank me later.

I've had several issues with this department in the past year. First of all, my truck was stolen…read morelast year and they did absolutely nothing. I ended up finding it behind a car wash on Iliff and Peoria at 2am, after ME doing the investigation for over a week. I called them telling them I found the truck. They told me to wait at the scene and an officer would be there shortly. There was a man parking in his truck right next to mine, my boyfriend walked up asking if he knew anything. My truck was sitting on logs, stripped. Those same logs were in the bed of this guys truck. He offered to buy the truck, we took his phone number for the police because we had suspicion. There were also cameras from the car wash pointing directly at my truck. The police took 8 hours to even show up. And when they did, we offered them the phone number and asked them to get the camera footage to find the people who stole the truck, you know. Descriptions of the suspects, license plates etc. They said no, because this happens so much it's not a priority and they "can't" do anything about it. If anything, it happening so much should MAKE it a priority. Second incident, a few weeks ago I was at horseshoe park when I watched a teenager chuck a baseball at his friend's head. Then yell "the second I'm getting a gun I'm going to a f**king school and killing everyone there. I called the police immediately. They took 2 hours to show up, and by the time they did the boys were gone. Now lastly, and probably the most important one, last Saturday night I was walking my dogs by central recreation center when a blacked out Tahoe pulled into the parking lot slowly creeping towards me. I called my boyfriend to pick me up. A few minutes later a man walking from the trail yells "HEY" at me and immediately starts sprinting towards me, I start running. I'm being chased by possibly human traffickers and luckily there was someone else at the trail who called out for me as he saw me running away and stayed with me while I waited for my boyfriend, which then the man chasing me got in the Tahoe and they sped off. I called the police to make a report, explaining they could get the footage from the outdoors cameras at the rec center to get a license plate, and hopefully be able to find the people before someone else goes missing. They told me someone would call me to make a police report. The incident happened at 9:30pm, I called around 9:45-10pm and they didn't even go to search the area or even give me a call back until 1:30am. And the officer who spoke with me on the phone told me "well what exactly do you want me to do about it?" When I told them about the camera footage, they told me they had no way of accessing the footage. I called the rec center to see if I can get it, and they had told me I'd have to file a police report and they would have to get the footage from them. So the police do have access to that footage. They're just lazy, sorry pos! I'm sorry but Aurora police department is absolutely useless. Oh but I bet once I start actually taking care of these situations myself and doing something that's actually beneficial, somehow they'll want to do something. I cannot express enough how lazy and useless these officers are.

She still had two years left on her old driver's ID but needed to update the name on it. WOW! I am not the only one that had difficulty with this post office. That speaks volumes about…read moretheir customer service! Not only am I not receiving my mail, but all of the cards, both credit cards and holiday cards seems to disappear! When approaching the two dark skinned men, they found it funny that I insisted they look for a package that was on hold there. It is their app that revealed where my package was being held! When asked to look again, the shorter of the two took a smoke break and came back with nothing but a terribly hostile attitude. Excuse me for asking him to do his job! I didn't know that he is getting paid to sit there and laugh at customers! It took the wonderful German woman that was changing the box locks to help! She saw and heard everything and felt terrible for my kid! He was painfully disappointed. She went above and beyond to get his package. I couldn't help but tearfully hug her... a lot! She did not have to do anything, yet she was kind enough to do so! What shocked me the most was when the manager defended those two mean men. Never defend that behavior. I felt like she has had to do that way too many times! We have no choice other than to go there, and it angers me that so many of us are subjected to those two. It seems to be the culture there. Personally, I chose to allow the person behind me go if I am next to deal with either of them. I allow silence to speak louder than my voice ever could. I refuse to allow them to dictate my day there! Stand strong when going into their playground! You are not alone!
