We camped here, 8/2020, sadly some of the facilities were closed but not of their own doing, local requirement driven (Covid). This place is spectacularly beautiful, our site 20 had an incredible view of a small lake formed as part of the river, there were otters, deer and osprey there regularly. There are a series of smaller lakes by the lodge, regular residents there include moose, we saw a bull there standing in the water dunking his head in for food. This is a magical place. During our visit, we had an incident with the battery on our rig, the manager quickly sent us Chris, he diagnosed and fixed our problem so we could head back to civilization, he also gave me a lot of RV knowledge along the way. read more

Arapaho Valley Ranch - Campgrounds Near Me - Granby, Colorado

We love this place and come every year for the bluegrass festival. We always tent camp but this year we did glamping. The bed in the glamping is extremely uncomfortable and I woke up sore every day and had pain all night from the discomfort. It was a big disappointment for the price we paid but there were tons of other features of the glamping site that were great. They offer a stove top, a grill, and a wood fire heater and nice touches like cups, bowls, plates, and silverware. A cutting board. A small mirror. A pretty comfortable couch. I have to admit that I was disappointed that the music wasn't more frequent and not super bluegrass-y this year. It was our first year at the bluegrass event since the new owners. Additionally, the bar drinks were quite terrible (tasted like straight fake lemon juice) and she didn't know just about any drink we requested. Over than that, the property is stunning, all the additions from the new owner were undeniable, the bathrooms were wonderful, what was included in the glamping were perfect, the campfire at each site was a great touch. Hard to give that a rating but if I have to, I guess it would be 4. The bed makes me want to put a 3 for the price we paid, but I can't deny all the other benefits and the property is truly our own oasis read more

Please be careful when booking if there is any possibility a loved one might be sick. I understand that this is a business and they are following their policy. However we were unable to attend our booking due to my grandmother being hospitalized suddenly. We were not asking for a refund but the ability to reschedule. They offered no options as their policy is 30 to 60 days advance notice on cancelations. So, being out the 1500 for our family's booking, under the circumstances felt like being kicked when down. read more

Feeling super disappointed by the "false advertising"for the camp site we got and how different it was from the photos and description. We were really looking forward to our tent camping trip here and booked a campsite based on the photos posted online specific for this site. The description also described it as a "prime spot with shade". When we arrived yesterday, we were shocked to see what the campsite actually looked like (no actual photos of the site were the ones shown online) and how extremely rocky and small it was and hardly any shade. We went to the front office to ask if there was a different campsite we could stay at since there seemed to be a lot of empty spaces and they said they were fully booked. We drove around to nearby campgrounds to see if we could get a first come, first serve spot, but all were reserved there too. Sooo... we reluctantly went back to our site at AVR and my husband spent 30-45 minutes clearing the rocks and trying to smooth down the dirt for us to set up our tent. It was still tough to get the stakes into the ground. Also, the water is not as accessible as stated in the campsite description l. You have to walk through another campsite, through thorny flowers and over some fallen trees. Not easy with a SUP. This place is NOT cheap for tent camping and it feels like we wasted our money and could have stayed at a nicer campsite elsewhere for a lot cheaper!! The amenities are nice and this place might be more enjoyable if you are glamping. *UPDATE: Since talking to one of the staff members (right before writing this review), she said they have now put up photos of the actual site. We booked through HIPCAMP (do not recommend). The camp site is beautiful but be warned that there are more mosquitoes than you'll ever imagine. It's insane. The camp site we got was site 23 and it was TINY. Our 10 person tent (we brought 4 people) would not fit. The wood we bought from the camp site store was wet, so it wouldn't light. The outhouses were nicely stocked and well kept. The canoes were awesome, on site trails were nice. The scenery was beautiful. Sadly, we left after 1.5 days due to lots of rain and our stuff getting soaked. When I asked the host for a Refund for the remaining days, they denied me. Which, i understand your policy but that's BS. Camp sites are SO CLOSE TOGETHER that you can hear your neighbors fart and... anything else. Like having someone IN your living room tbh. Definitely not the place for you if you want to be away from folks. Kinda sucks that showers aren't for camping guest but whatever. There is water though which is nice. 1 stars only due to no refund & close campsite and refusal to refund me for the days we didn't stay. BE WARE of the cancellation policy. Not customer friendly at all. Camp staff was polite. read more

My family does quite a bit of camping and in all the times I've stayed at locations all over the country I've not stayed at a place this awesome. Not only are there a myriad of options to choose from (tent, Teepee, cabin, glamping tents) but there is room for bigger vehicles if you call ahead And here's the kicker. They have a bar in site. Yeah. Rustic, awesome, friendly and walking distance from your camp style of choice. Thwre are also amazing trails to hike, a stocked pond, canoes to use at your leisure and a staff that is nothing short of amazing. I've camped a lot. I've seen good, and I've seen bad. Awesome campgrounds and accommodating, friendly staff. We had an oversized group on a holiday weekend and they went out of their way to accommodate us and set us up with additional space and a fresh port-a-potty Just for our group. We enjoyed the smallest and friendliest bar in the state, as well as the large outdoor barbecue pavilion complete with a large grill and a community fireplace for some s'mores. Dog friendly too! Even my sister who doesn't camp was amazed by the experience. read more

AVR is just a slice of heaven. We stayed in a tee pee and had a blast! It was clean and cozy inside with plenty of room for our bags and our food. The bed was awesome and we slept great every night. We are not campers so this was an excellent introduction since we were able cook our food over the campfire (or there is a grill if you decide to give that a try). The lodge area was awesome and a place to meet the others camping at the Ranch. We met great people from all over but the BEST people we met were the owners, Todd and Emily! They made you feel so welcomed to their Ranch was would do anything to make your stay awesome. A Moscow Mule (or two) in the smallest bar in Colorado was a great day to cap off the day. We can't wait to go back, this time with a few couples! You can't go wrong at AVR no matter what method you camp. read more

The photos & descriptions of this ranch, however accurate, don't do it justice! This property is absolutely stunning - a must see! Right near the foothills of The Rocky Mountain National Park, Arapaho Valley Ranch is located at the end of a dirt road that follows alongside the most scenic lake we have ever seen! The ranch is remote, intimate and postcard worthy! My boyfriend and I live in Atlanta & we were looking for a unique & memorable getaway - we wanted something that would immerse us in the nature that Colorado has to offer while still having the luxuries & amenities of a resort. We found everything we were looking for & more with the Safari Tents at the Arapaho Valley Ranch. Queen sized bed with premium linens, pillows, a full-sized dresser, cooking utensils, pots/pans, coffee mugs and even two large rugs to complete the look! Each Safari Tent also has it's own private deck and fire-pit that overlooks the ranch's own stocked lake. While the Safari Tents are in a more private location along the lake, the ranch also offers authentic-style teepees for rent as well as lodging accommodations in the main ranch house. The main ranch houses guest rooms, pool table, large living room with fireplace, kitchen, restrooms and even a bar!!! There are so many good things I could add about Arapaho Valley Ranch, but by far the most note worthy was how the owners went above & beyond for our stay. My boyfriend, now fiancé, proposed to me the day we checked in. I unziped our Safari Tent to find the biggest surprise of my life! Candles and rose pedals filled the room with a large bouquet of roses beside the bed. In the center of the tent sat a beautiful sign that read 'Will You Marry Me?'. We are so thankful to the owners for making our proposal and stay a complete dream. Never disappoints! I came here as a child several years in a row when it was a dude ranch. Anytime we are near Granby we have have to come visit. Tepees are adorable and the new cabins they are working on take the ranch to a new level. We fished out of the pond and caught several good sized rainbow trout. Our kids had such an amazing time and we will come back again and again. Gets better every time. Emily is the perfect welcoming hostess. Thanks again for even more AVR memories. read more

Arapho Valley Ranch was nowhere near what the reviews highlighted. When arrived it seemed like no one was prepared. We were given no overview of the ranch and was made to feel like I was asking for too much when I asked for directions to our tent and bath house. In addition, We were looking for a private space but there were families camping all around us with loud music and barking dogs. Not peaceful retreat we were hoping for. read more

What a fantastic getaway we had at Arapho Valley Ranch. The owners are fantastic and go above and beyond to make your stay relaxing and memorable. Activities galore at your fingertips from biking, and hiking to fishing or simply hanging out in The Lodge by the fireplace while the kids play pool and foosball.
