The only teacher who actually treated me the same as others was my pre-k teacher Mrs.Sudtelgte which I loved her she was the best. In kindergarten Mrs.lopez made my school life a living hell. My teachers were always rude to me and would treat me differently than others they would make mean comments to me and humiliate me in front of the whole class. When I was getting bullied no one ever helped or believed me. It's crazy you would think elementary teachers would treat their students better n try their best to make a good experience. No child should ever be treated differently no matter what race they are. And not to mention they took me out of my classes for esl so I stopped getting the help and extra time I needed which made my grades drop and made me start to struggle in school. Also Mrs.hicks was an awesome coach. School is supposed to be a safe place for learning not a hateful place especially for children.

My kids are doing so much better at this school than the public school and day care that they came from. Our first grader is already reading well and is doing addition problems with amazing speed! He is also learning to play the piano after school with the optional lessons that we signed up for. The kids are learning many songs and they sing regularly in chapel once a week. We also like the art classes that they are in. We love the wearing of uniforms - no problems with what to wear to school in the mornings! The staff and teachers are wonderful and communicate with parents regularly. The kids are learning good manners and how to treat others! They are also learning how to do friendly competitions with other groups at the school. A real win-win for us!

This year is a new principal, Ms. Cathy Jacobs is ridiculous! She offered me absolutely zero empathy or apology for any inconvenience to my circumstance. She simply repeated herself 3 times, as if I'm stupid or hard of hearing. I have enjoyed visiting with my children's teachers, peers, and most importantly my child at the end of the year holiday party. Apparently, there's a hard copy of a "News Letter" that I was suppose to receive and did NOT. I was suppose to get an email but got an email 2 day before the said event and the slots were full, when I sent 2 notes to the teacher 2 weeks prior to the event. My daughter said the teacher would email me and did not receive anything. This is not the first time that the lack of organization and communication has kept me from enjoying some time with my child. Oh and by the way, my email has not changed in 10 years! I am extremely dissatisfied with the principal her apparent lack of basic sense of humanity!

Initially, I was not in favor of public school and put my daughter in a charter school for kindergarten. There, I learned that smaller classes don't mean a better education. After a rough start there, I did a little more work on finding the positive attributes of public school. Cy-Fair really changed my outlook. While the elementary schools hover at around 1000 students each, I've learned that the teachers and staff can make that seem less overwhelming. Plus, an active PTO throughout makes up in the areas where the school needs help. My daughter is entering her third year at public school and loves it. I am so pleased Cy-Fair proved to me that public school is still a viable option even in a huge metropolitan area.
