Such a fun first visit, as we attended a watercolor class and it was an enjoyable experience that ended too soon. Easy parking, visited without lofty expectations, as it was a brutally cold day and we were happy to be out of the house and wanted to have fun. Joanie and Megan made the whole experience a great time! They are pleasant, knowledgeable, encouraging, and talented. We enjoyed interacting with our fellow total of ten attendees, and they made it a better event. I like how you all sit at a community table and experience it together. I learned how to do really fun watercolor strokes and designs, but also had a terrific time doing it. We will return, as it is a great place to get away and have some fun. read more

It's a very cute store with home goods and they also offer classes to use your creativity! My husband and I had fun at their anniversary party where we made candles and got free cupcakes. I was fortunate enough to be treated to pick a project for a group work event and it was SO MUCH FUN! Our table helper was Laura and there was 1 helper assigned to each table and they were all helpful. I had no idea what I was in for! They keep you busy. You are making something that you would be in a boutique and it's quite empowering to do this on your own. You pick your project, your finish, your paint. You sand, stain/paint/finish, use the nail gun, use the power drill to screw in the hanging piece (if that's your project) and it's unbelievably fun. Now, if you asked me to do this in my own home, I would say no way. This is a much better atmosphere to do it and you have guidance the whole way, so your project is sure to come out looking fabulous. What a fun night out! Hardest part is picking a project when you register. The staff is very friendly and personable. Our table "helper" was Ashley. She was amazing. She explained each step to us and went around and helped everyone as needed. I have done other "painted board" places and so far this is my favorite place. The only draw back is you have to peal your stencil. But they help you if you need it. You can "distress" the wood if you choose to. Then everyone sands their project. Next is staining-at AR Workshop they give you a brush to stain the piece with where other places give you a rag. After you prepare the stencil they help you center it on your project. Then they put a sealer so the paint won't seep under your stencil and then you get to paint it. Anyone with any or no "art ability" can come home with a beautiful piece. Besides being great home decor they make great gifts. They also offer class on hand knitting and kids workshops. They do team building events as well. You can also bring your own snacks, beer, and wine. read more
