This is a very large resort with four-story buildings. Regular condos on the first and second floor, and the third and fourth floors are two-story condos. The resort is a large, long rectangle with buildings running down each of the long sides, and a variety of pools going down the center. There are actually five different pools, all configured differently. All have shallow, wading areas for children, and one pool even has a zero entry section. One pool has a long, lazy river, another pool has a big slide. There are no hot tubs that we could find. All the pools have sunny areas and shady areas. However, each pool are has only two lounge chairs, so we brought our beach chairs each time. Each pool area does have a covered seating section with tables and chairs if you wanted to eat, and restrooms. At the top of the resort, near the guard gate, is a mini putt course, and tennis courts. At the far end of the resort, there was a large grassy field if you wanted to play soccer or something, a sand volleyball court, some basketball half-courts, and then the locked gate to the beach. You must have a key to access the beach. The beach is fairly nice, about 100 yards wide. There are lots of shady areas, and lots of sun. The water is fairly clear, only a few rocks but they are farther out so aren't really a problem. We stayed in a second floor condo. It had three bedrooms, and two baths. The baths are very small so I could see it being tight if you had six people staying in your condo. They have nice size kitchens, a dining area and then a TV area, plus a very nice outdoor patio. Every condo comes with assigned parking spaces. When you first check in, they put a wristband on you at the guard gate. You must wear the wristband the entire time you stay, which was a little annoying, but those are the rules. There is a convenience store and one or two restaurants right outside of the resort, but otherwise you will need to drive. Ralphs, a large grocery store, is a 10 to 15 minute drive to the east. You can get to the kiosk is in Luquillo in about 15 to 20 minutes, and can get to Fajardo in 30 to 40 minutes. From the resort to old San Juan, it is a 30 to 40 minute drive. We liked the resort a great deal, the landscaping is beautiful, the pools were great, and felt it was a great jumping off point to do a lot of sightseeing while in Puerto Rico. I would definitely recommend it if you were interested in staying on the east side of the island. read more

I contacted the # on their website to get a rate for a reservation and the employee who texted me back was unprofessional and rude which has deterred our family from booking at this resort. The person who is answering these texts and calls should be fired, as they have demonstrated low level customer service. Also, I just saw an update on their Facebook that their lazy river is about to go under renovation. I'll seek other accommodations. read more

Seems like a resort but I would barely call it that. They have like 5 pools and large property but honestly only one functioning pool (the one with the water slide) as the others are pretty lame. The area is very clean and nicely kept. This is probably a great spot for families with kids as they would definitely enjoy some of the amenities. For the pricing that we paid, this was ridiculous as a rental apartment. It's way too overpriced for the location. Yes, there's beach access just a short walk away. Other than that, this place isn't worth it. We enjoyed our stay but only because of the group of friends we were with. Nothing to do in the area and everything is like a 40 minute drive. Don't come here without a car otherwise you're stuck. read more

This stay has been great!!! I've been in Puerto Rico for a total of 6 days now! I'm here for my 30th birthday! I love this place it's more of a resort than a hotel. No one comes to turn your sheets, put little chocolates on your pillow etc. they have 7 pools and 3 "hot" tubs. And a private beach. I wasn't to keen on the beach because of the landing. It's not my cup of tea! The people at the gate a cool. They are helpful if you need something to do. There were a few off putting things. The slide for the pool is only usable Saturday and Sunday. The place was clean, it has a washer and dryer, a gas grill (no propane in the tank .). But I would stay here again. It was quiet most of the time over the fence is a neighborhood they play loud music all night on Friday and Saturday! Which I love because it's a good way to see the locals. read more

We stayed in a penthouse overlooking the ocean. The view was incredible. The compound is pretty big but once you leave there is nothing to do in the local area. You have to drive at least 20-30 minutes to get anywhere. There are no restaurants nearby. There are five pools which are pretty fun. They have a slide that doesn't work and the squirts guns aren't on either. The putt putt is out of service. They have a volleyball and basketball court as well as a tennis court. Nobody bothers you and the beach is literally the back yard. There are a lot of stray dogs in the area that will come up to you and play. They are friendly and recognized by the locals. read more

Aquatika is a nice resort located in a rough neighborhood. Once inside the gates, you may see tennis courts, a putt-putt course, swimming pools, sand volleyball courts, and apartments. We rented an apartment for three days. The best feature of Aquatika is the five pools and water slide. The pools are spread out and include something for everyone, from a lazy river, to a shallow children's pool, to hot tubs, and built-in squirt guns for the kids. The beach is small, but nice because it is maintained frequently. There aren't many amenities nearby, unfortunately. So buy your groceries ahead of time. Overall, Aquatika is a fun place for kids of all ages. My kids enjoyed the pools the most. Pros: Lots of pools Nicely appointed, large apartments Private beach Beautiful landscaping Water slide! Tennis courts Putt-putt course Cons: The nature-stone around the pools hasn't been sealed, so the tiny, sharp rocks actually hurt when you walk on them. I scraped my hand and my son scraped his ankle. The water slide was closed the entire three days we were there. So much for that! They have tennis courts, but no equipment rentals They have putt-putt, but no equipment rentals The electricity went off all three days that we were there. The rooms and beach are all wonderful, but the pool deck is made of little pebbles that cut your feet.

My family rented 2603, 6203 and 6102 from Alonso Realty. We all have bed bug bites from this place. My gf and I have a combined bite total of 120 bites. This is not including the 19 other people in my family who have bites as well. I told Alonso and all he said was "wow! Sorry! We have extermination service in the area." So that leads me to believe this is an ongoing issue he did not inform us about. I actually fled this property on my last night there in fear of getting more bites. Spent ~$300 USD on a last minute hotel booking in San Juan. Don't bother with this place. It's far from everything (20 min from the closest main road to find food), its dirty, the beach is not usable and its in a bad neighbourhood. Spend the extra cash and get a hotel in San Juan. read more

This review is ONLY for penthouse unit 5303. My group of 7 stayed here for 6 days and we absolutely loved the place. It has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, a dining area, 2 living rooms (one on each floor), a washer/dryer, and a private rooftop/balcony area upstairs. Each room has it's own A/C unit installed and everything is clean/renovated. Clean linens, towels, toilet paper, paper towels, etc are all provided when you arrive. Part of their service includes a guided escort directly from the airport to the resort. Our representative, Juan Carlos, was very friendly and informative. If you meet him, make sure to get his suggestions on what to do and where to eat. Bedrooms: Each has a queen-sized bed and its own A/C unit. One of the full bathrooms is located in the master bedroom. Kitchen: It comes fully-equipped (electric stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster, microwave, blender, utensils and dinnerware, etc). Bathrooms: No drainage or flooding issues. The only complaint I have is the shower pressure. It can be adjusted but it still isn't what I'm used to back in the states. Rooftop/balcony: There's a wooden cabana that provides a shaded area, along with a table and several chairs. There are beach chairs in the open area for tanning, as well as a hammock that can be moved. Parking: If you rent out 5303, you have two reserved parking spaces right in front. The resort itself has a lot to offer. On one end, you have the private beach (there's a key provided to you for access), BBQ grills, volleyball and soccer courts. On the other end, you have the lazy river, mini-golf, and tennis courts. And in between, you have multiple pools, hot tubs, a water slide, basketball courts, and playgrounds. 5303 has golf balls, drivers, and tennis racquets in one of the closets (as of 5/27/14). I would definitely recommend staying in 5303. The resort is located in a bit of a shady neighborhood, but it's a gated community and there is a police station literally right outside. You pretty much have to rent a car to get around, but everything is just a short drive away. My party and I did not run into any issues during our stay worthy of mentioning. This is like a vacation home, so please be courteous, treat it like your own home, and pick up after yourself! read more

These condos are nice and spacious with modern kitchens. The pools are beautiful, and are the main attraction. The beach is also beautiful on a sunny summer morning. I would definitely rent here again. The people are mostly locals, but they are friendly. The grounds are spectacular. The only bad thing is that you have to drive 15 to 20 minutes on route 3 to go to eat out or shopping. Then it takes longer to go to Isla Verde or to the big mall, Plazas las Americas. So it is out of the way. We've been to Puerto Rico so many times though that we did not have an itinerary. So this place was good enough for us. I loved the drive along route 3 going east and west. Going East toward Isla Verde was nice as you drive through Pinones, and then back west the views of the river and mountains: simply breath taking. If I could, then I would even buy a condo here. The beach is shallow enough for the kids and a beautiful turquoise color, but not a wide stretch to walk on. I like it because the waves are very gentle, not wild. The surrounding neighborhood is not shady, just not a lot of places to shop. They have small places for bread and small take out meals, but we did not bother. Just quiet area with locals bicycling to and fro. So to me the biggest con would be the distance to Old San Juan or Plazas Las Americas. read more

AQUATIKA is NOT a resort!!! They are gated apartments in the middle of a very shady area. There is barbed wire around the perimeter, so take that as a hint. The lazy river was broken. There is no lifeguard on duty, and the waterslide was working 1 day out of 9 we were staying there. Any attractions are at least 2 hours away. Do yourself a favor and stay in San Juan!!! you get what you pay for!! read more
