Yet another store lacking in aloha and needing a much needed help in customer support. Me and my brother walked in asking for saltwater fish and the store lady said, "we only carry freshwater fish". She seemed annoyed. My brother was browsing for aquatic plants and saw something he liked, asked the lady how much? She said, "6 dollars a bunch". So my brother said, "I'll take a bunch" Then my brother asked for another plant but could not remember the name "Anacharis". Then the lady sounding annoyed again said, "Oh, I don't know, it's whatever we have in there". So I told my brother, "Let's go someplace else." I cannot stand store-keepers who are unhelpful and pretending they don't know know their inventory. It would have been six bucks to their business gain. i came into the store on several occasions asking for advice on fish tanks never got true answers from anyone, i came into the shop asking about soil for my tank, was told if i did not need the soil i can return and get my money back from the owner i went to return the item and was not given my cash money back instead was giving a in store credit. which was not told to me at all. so i left my soil and my insore creit receipt in the store i will no longer do any business with this store read more

Walked in to purchase some stuff talked to a guy who wasn't very pleasant. Later found out he's the owner. Even worse. Explained to him it was my first attempt at a planted aquarium told him the problems I was having showed him some pics of my tank and all he did was talk down to me like I was a fucken idiot! I then told him brah I'm still learning! Just thought he would have helped me but all he did was make me look stupid! So I left! Not even worth one star! And they say support local businesses! Stopped in yesterday after work to get some driftwood for my tank. It was a little hard to find as I didn't realize that there were two strips of shops and it's in the smaller one behind the main one. I got there about 10 minutes before they closed but the staff was still very helpful and welcoming and instead of rushing to get me out they let me play around in their sandbox area where you can try different arrangements of rocks and driftwood that even has measurements so you can arrange them in an area the same size as your tank. I managed to find the perfect piece of driftwood and was out the door at 6 on the nose. I wish I had gotten their earlier because I would have loved to spend more time looking around, their tanks are GORGEOUS. The fish are all healthy and playful, probably in large part due to having tanks that are actually big enough to let the communities in them thrive and not overcrowded like most places I've been. They have a wonderful variety of fish, far more than your average pet store, and more fish that are closer to their adult size. Their tanks are also beautifully designed with loads of live plants, you can really see why they chose the name Aquascapes. All in all I highly recommend them and I will be back. read more

Excellent and Friendly customer service!!!! Was just there to window shop...but I ended up buying some Moss and manzanita driftwood for my planted fish tank... Owners wife was very knowledgable and even took it upon herself to make suggestion on what fish should be kept in my tank instead of a Bloodparrot... The fish, by far, are the healthiest compared to other stores, and the owners are incredibly knowledgeable and polite! Not being from here and missing my pets back home I wanted to liven up my dorm and make it feel more like home... and what better way than a few fish and plants! My friend and I had some trouble finding the place so I called to ask where they were located when Rena (hope I spelled that right!) the lady who had answered the phone actually stood outside and waved so we could find her!!! Can't say I've had many business owners do that for me! Off the bat she was attentive asking if I had any questions about tanks,fish,plants,etc. and she seemed very knowledgeable on what would be best for me. I explained to her the size restraints and that my main priority was the comfort and well being of the fish I was planning on purchasing and she was more than happy to give me tips and show me their display box where I could in a way design my own little tank to the size and everything! I had my eye on a 10 gallon ADA fish tank with the built in filter however it was more than I was expecting to pay today:/ she constantly assured me there was no pressure to make such a big purchase today and we could accommodate tank sizes and types of fish:) I appreciated the customer service as I felt less like I was talking to a sales person and more to a trusted friend! I will be going back for that tank and to the store for all my fish and plant needs!!! read more

I really like this store! I'm big on plants and the guy JoJo has a lot of great selections. I decided to buy myself a brand new tank as I never heard of the ADA line. It's pricey but it's like you just gotta have the best one! Also, my fishes usually don't last long from other places I buy from but JoJo knows how to upkeep his tanks and you can rely on anything you pick from the tanks. LOVE this place. The owners/employees are always very nice. I've been here several times and they always answer all of my questions (I sometimes have quite a few). On my last visit I arrived right at closing time. Luckily the door was unlocked and I was able to get my fish food and ask some questions. I said I needed a plant too but would come back because I didn't want to keep them long past closing. She said I could still look but I had other errands to run and didn't want to keep it in the car. I recommend them for your fish needs over any other pet stores. They know more than anyone. :) read more

Visited for the last time today. Went in and normally the really nice lady is there to greet me and I deal with her because the other guy comes off as a dick. Well today I walked in looking to spend some big bucks on a Hood and other accessories. I wanted to go her because I believe in the support small business first concept. Well I walked in and did my normal rounds and was followed by another gentlemen. As they talked story for what seemed like 5 minutes I was finally asked so I presented the questions about tank problems I was having. Long story short I wanted to purchase a few plants which they did not have in stock ok. I will come back Friday no problem. Then he goes to insult my intelligence by telling me what I should do. Look I understand you are the expert but before I spend $400 I would like to try other methods to remedy my plants dying first. I basically sat there and listened to him blab for 5 minutes about if it was him this is what he should do. After today I will not be supporting this Business ever again. I will stick to the Big Box stores on the island. Localism at its finest. In the future it would probably be smart not to talk down on loyal customers Mahalo! read more

I love their fishes! Feels like I can spend hours here just looking at their tanks. Their tanks are so clean that if I were a fish I'd love to live in one of them!! They give great advice on upkeeping the tanks and they know about so many different fishes. So my husband wanted to create a fish tank for our daughter (yeah right probably mainly for him.....) we were told to come here. You would never think of coming here a you can't see it from a main road but it's a secret little gem of a place. The lady who helped us was super friendly and nice. From what little do I know about fish tanks and especially how to decorate them she totally helped us create one from scratch.
