I consider myself a freshwater fish connoisseur, but after upgrading my tank, I was having problems cycling my water. I then made a cardinal mistake and bought fish before the tank was fully cycled. So I went to this place for help. The last thing I needed was an extensive lecture from a cocky fish expert about my egregious error and the dangers now exposed to my fish. Rather, the young woman who assisted me (can't remember her name...) calmly tested my water, patiently answered all my questions and helped me devise a solution. She then gave me this special carbon bag (I almost wanna call it magic herbs) and told me it would fix the issue. I don't know if this woman was channeling Yoda or what, but in literally one week, my tank was perfect. Many kudos to this amazing store!!! Thank you!!! read more

I ordered copepods from Aquarium Depot lots of times before and have been pleased with the experience. Not this time. The copepods were fewer and not all lived. I think its because of the time sitting at USPS. In my opinion it should have been shipped earlier in the week to avoid unnecessary delays. read more

This place is perfect for all your tank needs. My love recently got a salt water tank and has been learning all about the process. Coming here has been extremely helpful. Everyone inside knows so much about the different species, what goes together and what won't, water temperature and cleaning etc there all just very knowledgeable and willing to go over any and every question you may have. They keep all the fish tanks very clean and all the displays are amazing. I really appreciate coming here because I like to choose all different fish and anenomes and they let me know what will work together and what different foods they all need. This has been an enjoyable learning process. Will definitely make this establishment our go to for all our salt water tank needs. The only thing that gets annoying can be parking. I still don't understand how half, no more then half the people in miami got their driver's license. read more

I was in need of a certain medicine for my lovely betta fish. Aquarium Depot was the only place that I was able to find this particular medication. I tried Petco and petsmart, none of these places had it. Jilian (not sure if I'm spelling her name correctly, sorry) , she was extremely helpful and very nice to me. It was my first time visiting this fish store and I was impressed. So far, my betta is doing a bit better (fingers crossed). For those of you trying to find Kanaplex, this place has it! Absolutely DON'T BUY FROM THEM! They get you in the door work their specials and good prices... then next thing you know you're trying to get ahold of someone wondering where your shipment is. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!! So, I placed a small order. Just enough to get the free shipping special. When you get to the screen where you process it, it says that the free shipping is 3-4 days. Lol. They expect live corals to be ok in shopping for 3-4 days? I wouldn't. So, I paid for next day air, adding $35 on to my order. Then submitted. I got an email saying in the very first line "We process orders daily, any orders received after 20:59:59 EST will be processed the following day.".. I thought oh cool, I'll actually get it tomorrow. 2 days later and I never received shipping information. I emailed their customer service because they're is no customer service number. The only number listed goes to a cell phone and just goes straight to an automated message. I got a response quickly and Candace asked when I want it to be shipped.... lol. I responded with "now" and explained that I had purchased next day air. Haha. I got no response. I emailed a few times to check the status and never heard back. The next day my attitude about the whole ordeal changed a bit and I wrote another email. Finally Candace called me and honestly, I'm not sure how she's able to call herself a customer service rep. She had a horrible attitude. She said some interesting things though! -First she told me that 95% of her customers that paid for overnight shipping didn't want their package until the next week!?!?!? Really? -Next she said that she was too busy to respond to my emails because she was the only customer service rep for 50,000 customer!!!! When I asked why they did not have more customer service reps, she responded that more than half of her time at work was sitting around and twiddling her thumbs!?!? Once again, what?!?! Someone please explain this... Now, I obviously wanted to cancel my order. She told me that it would take up to 3 months to get my refund!? Only the owner can process refunds and it normally takes 3 months is what she told me. I will obviously never do business with them again. I hope that maybe I can save a few people the headache of dealing with the company. I just wished I looked at bbb before buying. I'm filing a claim with them too and now I have to contact my bank to dispute the charge because I doubt they will ever even refunds my money. BUYER BEWARE! read more

I purchased the tank here and made the frame myself- they're non sturdy looking at the shop. The products for the tank are a bit over priced at the store. She has a good selection of fish and corals. Just look very closely at the corals and fish you're purchasing. read more

This is one of my favorite aquarium stores in Miami! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They don't mind answering questions and are always very approachable. They have a lovely selection of fish, invertebrates, corals, and much more. I bought a Maroon Clownfish, a Blue Tang, a Coral Beauty, three shrimps, and a crab so far and they're all thriving. My fish have all adapted very well to the tank and are very healthy. I believe the fish turn out so well because of the excellent care provided by the store. I also buy water from them and the fish are always great after water changes. Overall, they have an amazing quality of livestock as well as excellent customer service. I'll certainly continue to give them my patronage! read more

Buyer beware. This is the second time I have purchased fish from there that came SICK...in both cases they come home with Ich or something worse. ... and killed the hole tank 7 fish the first time... 5 the second time..they do NOT guarantee their fish they told me. I had the water tested before the new fish went in and it was perfect...temp was perfect... all fish in the tank (including some that were in there for three years) and quite large living in the same tank all along... are all dead within 5 days despite all our efforts to save them... and they will do nothing for us...even with a receipt and the dead fish bodies. They simply repeat the store policy of 'we do not guarantee our fish' ...good luck if you shop at this place... buyer beware. read more

My husband and I have been coming to this aquarium store for 15 yrs, since they were in the Kendall Town and Country Plaza across the street. They are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and the quality of fish, corals and invertebrates is top notch. We purchase all supplies from them, including live rock, filters, food, livestock and water. We recently purchased a 90 gallon aquarium from them which they set up in our home. Being a much larger and new aquarium set-up, they have guided us through the whole process and the fish are thriving. The aquarium looks like a show piece in our living room and we are thoroughly enjoying it. They are not pushy at all in regards to fish or other products. As a matter of fact, they discourage us from purchasing certain fish that will not go well with others in our aquarium. Anything you need, including good advice, you will find here. read more

The fish in the store are beautiful. The only thing that affects the place is the customer service. I don't know if it was the owner or one of the managers that was in that day but I asked a couple of questions concerning the fish and the guy just told me the names are on the fish tanks. No charisma, no tact, no charm to gain clientele, can't blame him, some people aren't born with the grace to be around the public. They should keep him in the back with the overstock. I ordered trochus snails... they sent astrias. I ordered super tonga nassarius they sent the little nassarius vibex. I ordered non aggressive brittle stars they sent me predatory bubble tip stars. When i contacted them that they sent me everything i didnt order thinking i wouldnt know the difference. They wanted to only refund the difference in price. You cant send crap i didint order and charge for it anyway. These people are criminal. I got nothing i actually ordered. read more

This is one of the top 2 aquarium stores in Miami. If you are serious about salt water this is a place for you. They have one of the best and largest collection of healthy corals. I constantly see unique fish that are not at other places. If you need something in particular just ask. After trying almost all the vendors in Miami I settled with Aquarium Depot. These guys care and the prices are inline with competitors plus they constantly have great sales throughout the year. They maintain and update their facebook and Instrgram which is great because you can see what they get in without having to drive over or calling. They are very fair and I highly recommend them. The only other place comparable in Miami would be the one on Bird Rd. Thats it. read more
