My K5 Ro System and Whole house softener/filter have worked amazing. We have clear water that does not spot the shower doors. No water stains in the drains. The faucets have worked smoothly for years now. We add salt when needed and we never have a service problem. We tried the other brands in the past and always had the same issue with inconsistent softening and bad service. read more

Les installed the kinetico soft water system in our house and did an awesome and professional job. The company is Aqua Terra Water Service and we got set up with Soft water for the house and also drinking water. Previously we had a soft water system but we had issues with it. We have 7 people in our house with lot's of laundry and showers and the previous system would run out of soft water and we would have to recycle the water manually. This kineitico system has two tanks for ample soft water. The drinking water is a reverse osmosis with filters and does an excellent job with tasty water and does a better job than our previous system. Highly recommended. read more

We had the system installed by Les. He was on time for our initial consultation and very professional. No pressure or sales pitch, he walked through what the system could do. Shared what the competition could do and allowed you time to do your own research. Happy with the sytem. Have had it since May 2022 so will see how it fares next year. read more

This review is long overdue. Les guided us through the process of selecting, purchasing, and installing a water softener system from start to finish. He was professional and gave us all the information we needed on what was available and what would work best for us without being pushy. We needed work done on our plumbing before we could install our system and he recommended a contractor who came in and got everything done. We've had our Kinetico system for over a year now and we love it. Our water is softened and we have a filtered faucet in our kitchen that provides excellent drinking water. Living in South Salinas, we have incredibly hard water and this softener has benefitted us in decreasing wear on our appliances, taking care of our skin, using less product when washing clothes and cleaning our home, and more. Les was great to work with and he and his family are incredibly kind. We purchase our salt for the system at their Aqua Terra store. Thank you Les!!! read more

Les Owens of Aqua Terra Water Service was our go-to man after we moved into our new home in Carmel. His firm installed and serviced our previous home in Carmel Valley. We were delighted with the price, installation, outstanding water quality, and prompt response to any service requirements we had. Les was the first person that we called when we started the remodeling of our new home because water quality is at the top of our list, and the whole house system was installed along with the drinking water purifier was in place on day one of our move-in. We highly recommend Aqua Terra Water Service to anyone that wants to deal with a firm that provides high-quality water purification equipment and excellent service. Thank you Les . I called in Wednesday about a leaking kinetico talked to a guy names Les. Explained my problem to him the best i could, he had me send over pictures of the system i have and he scheduled an appointment for the next day. Showed up when he said he'd be here. I live on a ranch so i have super harsh water from my well and he opened the system up (which was a 25 year old system) and changed out seals and pistons and had it fired up and running in less that 20 minutes. Les was very outgoing and had the knowledge base to make everything run like new. Great customer service! And will use you guys again! read more

Great service. Les is a great guy. Very helpful. He came by, took a water sample, sent it for testing and recommended a system based on my homes needs. Any questions he answered and has continued to answer after the system has been installed a couple of weeks later. My water is now soft. My tub and toilet are no longer yellow due to the iron in the water. We are really happy with the water system filtration and with Les's job. read more

I have recently purchased a new home in East Garrison, knowing the hard water situation I knew I would need a water softener system. As i started doing research online I found Kenetico. That was the easy part, but understanding the systems I had no idea about. My first call was to Culligan and Bob the dealer told me the price and what Culligan will do. Nothing about what system, or what it will do for my house. I knew at that moment I needed to look elsewhere. This is when I was introduces to Les. Les is the salesman, installation man, and the owner all in one. I did not know this at the time, but when I asked for his price an his thoughts he would not talk price over the phone. The reason is because he needs to be able to see the house and the job, this to me is something that stood out. I appreciated this, because hes not here to waste my time or his, he wants to be able to give you the time of day to explain his product, and the right product for my house. After I met with Les I understood what I needed, and how my system would work. He took his time, and made sure he explained everything and answered all my questions. My unit was installed in the middle of February, I took a few months to write this review because I wanted to see how my system worked, and how the job was done by Les. My wife and I are very pleased with the system, price, and job Les has done for us. I would recommend this product, and Les in general to anyone that is looking for a water softener system. I even told my neighbor about Les, and within a week he was there installing there system. I hope this review helps you decide to give Les a call, and let him come by and explain his product and his services, because I promise you, you will not be sorry you did. read more

I live in Hollister and 6 years ago I was doing research on water softeners and wanted something cost effective and quality. That's when I found Kinetico, a no plug into the wall runs on literally your water pressure and salt. I dialed Les and he came out and explained to me in great detail what I needed and sized up a unit that fit my family's needs. Hollister water is very hard and this system has saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars due to keeping my appliances and fixtures clean from calcification. The best part is in those 6 years had to call les 1 time to come and change the sediment in my water softener. That's it! Highly recommend getting a system from les, the best system for your house period!! I just purchased the K5 drinking water system and can't wait to stop buying all those plastic bottles at Costco. read more

Just moved into hollister a few months ago and realized how harsh the water is, I have been shopping around for a filtration system but they were either way too expensive or extremely sketchy. I don't trust people easily but the first time I spoke to Les over the phone he educated me on what I need for my new home, me being clueless at this I was still skeptical but I chose to book a consolation with him so we can talk prices and I'm so glad we crossed paths. Not only did Les educate me on reverse osmosis but he also didn't pressure me to buy anything right away. 2 months later and my skin feels better than ever, My family and I have noticed a HUGE difference in our water. Highly recommend his business! read more

On time, on budget, high quality. All of these important aspects of Les' approach to the addition of a water softening and filtration system happened flawlessly. Our job was a bit more complicated, and in spite of some customized plumbing and a tight location for the installation, all went well. Les is dependable and honest. He is a super hard worker and the plumbing partner he works with is great as well. I would give him my highest recommendation. Stan D. read more

My family and I moved to a brand new home in Hollister about a year ago. I knew local water source was not of good quality so we were looking for a conditioning softening system. We were told that county codes prohibit salt water discharge type systems for homes. We had been used to this sort of system in the Bay Area where we moved from. Our home builders foreman recommended Les and to give him a call. When we did Les took his time to explain the types of options available to us that would help filter the water and also be compliant with local code. He was very thorough and low pressure on selling to buy his water conditioner solution. After all we ended up buying the water filter conditioner system that Les installed using care and craftsmanship hooking up all pipes and plumbing. He really is a great resource even after the sale and installation. I have had several questions of general nature about my set up after the fact, and Les picks up the phone every time. He is an awesome customer service oriented sales and installation person. We have had nothing but great service and satisfaction from Aqua Terra and Les. If you are looking for a water filtration system or set up you really should only call Aqua Terra and Les. You will not regret anything along the way. read more

It's been over a month since Les installed our water softener and RO drinking water system and we couldn't be happier. The Kinetico systems are great. We have a constant supply of soft water, even during regeneration, with no noticeable drop off in water pressure (in a two story house). The K-5 RO system provides great tasting water and the faucet not only looks elegant, but also provides a very high flow rate. Les was great to work with. During his pitch, he didn't sugar coat anything. He gave us the pros and cons of the systems he sells, and directly compared the Kinetico systems to the spec sheets of the competition. He even debunked some of the myths we had heard from other salesmen about water systems in general. When it came time to negotiate, he was very fair and got us the systems we wanted at a price that fit our budget. If you're in the market for a water softener or drinking water system, or are even thinking about getting one, it's worth your time to call Les and meet with him. His knowledge and honesty made us feel very comfortable in our decision. read more

We've had softeners in the past on other homes but decided to install a water conditioner from another company when we moved in 3 years ago. When I called for service (seeing LOTS of build-up) we found that there were no local service companies, and the nearest one wanted $2,000 to recharge the media - after informing us that they were brand new to servicing the company and had to get back to us to give us THAT bad news. We have very hard water and instead of investing $2,000 every 3 years for mediocre results, we decided to invest in a water softening system. Based on 5-star reviews on Yelp and other local social media sites we called Les for an appointment to give us a quote for a replacement system. Les was very punctual, and there was no hard-sell from him - only information about the system he sells and what our local water had in it. After discussing the options and cost (with Les actually telling us NOT to purchase a more expensive system, based on our home usage of 4 adults), we decided to purchase a water softening and reverse osmosis system from him. He was up-front that it would be at least 4 weeks before he could do our install (not what we wanted to hear, but I'd rather hear the truth than a lie), and almost to the day at 4 weeks he called to set up the install within a few days. Les was able to use some of the piping from our previous system but still took the time needed for a quality installation. He walked us through how the system worked, when and how to check the salt levels (and recommended going to Costco for the salt .. again, no hard sell!), and when we could expect to have to service the system as well as the general cost (WAY less than $2,000!). You won't meet a nicer guy, a more professional person, and a more honest business person than Les - and you won't regret purchasing your system through him. I'd give him 10-stars if I could - our experience has simply been that good! read more

My wife and I knew we wanted a water softener system and since we had a Kinetico system in our previous home decided that we would again go with this system. I requested a quote on-line and within a few hours received a call from Les at Aqua Terra Water Service. We made an appointment and Les showed up on time. My wife and I explained the system we had previously and wanted the same system. Les explained that he would be happy to sell us that system but that he could provide exactly what we want with a less expensive system. He walked us through how this system would perform answering all our questions along the way. We then asked about a water filtration system for under our kitchen sink. He explained what he could do and then priced out both systems for us. I couldn't believe that we were getting the softening system and the under sink water filtration system for about $1200 LESS then our previous softening system. The day of installation came and again Les and his employee show up as scheduled. They got everything installed and Les even came back to retro-fit the waterline tee fitting under the sink as our new home had a unique shutoff valve. Les wanted to insure that the cover plate could be placed back over the cutout at the back of the under sink cabinet even though I told him not to worry about it since it can't be seen unless you get down on your hands and knees and stick your head under the sink. A few days later Les called back to ensure that everything was working well and to our full satisfaction. What great customer service! If your in need of a water softening system I strongly urge you contact Aqua Terra Water Service. You will not be disappointed. read more

We love our Kinetico Water Softening System that we purchased several years ago. No water spots, water is super soft, use less laundry detergent and Shampoo, plus my kids have eczema and that was one of the main reasons for purchasing the system in the first place, no more eczema issues like before. We recently purchased the K5 drinking water system for our home so we don't have to run to the store to fill our water bottles anymore. Les was here when he said he would be, professional, caring service that we have come to know over the years, love our new drinking water too! Highly recommend... read more

Les came to our house in South San Jose based on some recommendations. Although it cost more for his traveling from Salinas it was worth it. We're new residents at East Garrison. It didn't take long for us to realize the quality of water needed improvement. Our previous home had a softener system, so we were aware of the benefits. The taste of our water was a little funky, and the reside and spots it left behind told us it was time to find a solution. We turned to Yelp and found Les Owens at Aqua Terra. A couple days later he came to see us and gave a full explanation of the Kinetico system and its features. We chose to go with his recommendations and are happy we did. Les did the installation of a house water softener system and filtered drinking water at the kitchen sink. Now, our water is happy and so are we. And, our morning cup of coffee tastes great again! We really enjoyed working with Les. He's honest, fair and focused on being sure the customer is pleased with the product he installs. Good people and good product makes for happy customer. lime, iron, chemicals, and other elements try to get into our home every day. they bring some water with them. aqua terra provided us with an under-the-sink filtration system that allows us to drink the water and prohibits unwanted elements from entering our home-or us. les and his wife are fine folk, easy to work with, and i don't feel like i'm being up-sold or cross-sold when i'm there. my excellent rock star wife changes the water in our fish tanks with the much better/ cleaner water provied by aqua terra, using their 5 gallon jugs with the larger spouts. this costs $3.75 for 15 gallons, instead of $17 at the nearby grocery store - and we don't have to add more plastic to the landfill... her fish live longer, which makes my wife happy. when my wife is happy, my life is happy. read more

This review is overdue by a few weeks...due to a newborn at home and reason for purchasing a water system through Aqua Terra with Les. First off the vibe i get from a person, how knowledgeable they are and their behavior pushy not pushy or too much of a sales person has a lot to do with my decision making. Les Is great, we requested a quote and he came over to our home. Not with a sales pitch, but with honest answers to our questions and advice or help with getting what we need and NOTHING MORE OR EXTRA! We did not purchase the water system the first time Les stopped by due to finances, new home, new baby and he understood that when we were ready down the line we could reach back out to him. If you go elsewhere I am 90% sure they will sell you additional things you really do not need just to get extra bucks out of you. I soon learned I did not have to worry about these things with Les. He is honest, very knowledgeable, super understanding. Never was he pushy or made you feel dumb for asking questions..in other words very helpful. I would recommend Les to everyone looking for a home water system. We got what we needed and nothing more than that,no extra bucks out of our pockets and with a newborn in our home we could not afford to spend more than what was needed. Talk to Les first then decide from there...you wont regret it. Thanks again Les! read more

After contacting 2 other vendors, I was so thankful to find Aqua Terra Water Service to install our water softener and RO system. We had a very complex installation in order accommodate the requirements of our HOA, but they were able to make things work. Les was a pleasure to work with and is very responsive to all emails and calls. I highly recommend using them for your next installation or Kinetico service needs. read more

I was given a quote by the owner over the phone to repair my R/O water filtration system for $60. The guy had a bunch of excuses why he was late, but he did call and let me know. He came in, looked at it and said he could fix it. $200 later, he attached a black rubber hose to my garbage disposal, which is not a sanitary way to do your drinking water. If you use him, get a firm quote before he touches anything. It will not be the price you were told. I got this guy on Angie's List, so I paid twice and felt swindled. He will try to sell you an expensive water softener while he is there too. Find a better plumber! read more

I did a thorough research on which water company to choose for our soft water installation and am 100% glad I chose Les and his expertise to do the job. He is quick and very honest and is extremely knowledgeable about his work. He came to our home and went in detail about reverse osmosis carbon filters ect. Something other business did not explain to me. He is very accommodating with working around your schedule for installation. On the day he came he finished quickly and efficiently. Also a few days later we noticed a small drip on one of the tanks, we called Les and he came and fixed the problem immediately. We are very satisfied with the quality of the water in our home now! Plus the tanks are powerless doesn't require and external output. talk to Les and he will explain it to you. It's pricier than most systems but you are paying for quality and piece of mind knowing your have the best system out there and installed by an expert professional. Thank you Les! read more

Looks like I never did write a review. We had Les install water systems in two houses in Hollister over the course of the last three years. If I had another house, I'd put in another system! Les is a great guy and easy to work with. Kinetic is a great system, we are very happy with the water quality. We experienced a couple of glitches, (not the fault of the system or service) along the way. When this happened, or the filters needed changing, Les was very responsive. You can expect him to show up quickly to assess and/or restore service. read more

We had a Culligan system before. I'd give the system 3 stars. Our contractor recommended Kenetico. Over two years ago I was struggling between my need for excellent drinking water and my busy working schedule because as single I tried to do it conservatively and frugally, such as buying from vending machines, setting up small personal units for filtered or distilled water. Not only I often found myself out of water at midnight, or when extremely thirsty, but also often found something needed to be fixed or replaced in order to keep my drinking water clean and in good quality. One of my co-worker told me that Aqua Terra Water Service store in Salinas has the sweetest drinking water and gave me the number. I visited the store to taste the water and called Mr. Les Wilson very tentatively because I've alway thought that setting up a house system at home was too expensive for one person. It turned out that it was not as expensive as I thought. Mr. Wilson appeared to be down-to-earth, straightforward, knowledgeable and detailed when explaining his products, laying out all possible options for my case. Although he didn't try to oversell his products, in fact he had told me that owing to the different equipments, Kinetico drinking water installed in my home won't be as sweet as in his store, I found him to be trustworthy and ended up buying whole house water softener too! Since then, I've been completely worry free about my water needs and confident when entertaining visitors. Other than the initial investment for equipments and installation, plus a yearly need for adding salts, my monthly water bills are about the same. Mr. Wilson has also been responsive whenever I had questions. I surely will not go anywhere else if I happen to fancy some more new technologies concerning water. Right now I'm 100% satisfied with my basics and will recommend Aqua Terra Water Service for all my friends. Y.J.C. Marina, CA read more
