Went with my 16 year old son for dinner. Food was good, however the server left much to be desired. We almost felt discounted, perhaps due to the presence of a teenager with his dad? We never received or were asked if we wanted bread (other tables received), when the food was brought to our table, no fresh ground pepper was offered (no salt or pepper on any table), but other diners were offered. After we completed the meal, the check was unceremonious dropped at the table without a mention or inquiry about dessert or asking us if we enjoyed dinner. We ended up having dessert elsewhere...opportunity lost for Aqua! Overall food a 4, service a 1.5. There are too many wonderful restaurants with fine service in Naples to have to settle for Aqua again. read more

Not a good place to eat. Although they try to attract people with their cheaper lunch menus, when you enter inside the restaurant, a stinky smell will hit you. That tells a lot about their cleaness. I still gave it a try with the calamari pasta and didn't quite like it. Service was OK though. read more

Great food, great atmosphere! One of the few places that not only offers great food, which Naples is blessed to have a variety of but also has live music. It's so nice to not just eat and go home for once. Would suggest changing the musical acts for variety but truly a fun night. The sea bass is amazing - the truffle risotto is decadent and let's not forget the lobster spring rolls that have a ton of large chunks of lobster meat in them. Nice location in the 5th Ave section of shops and restaurants. We were seated quickly outdoors. The good news is the food was good. We had almond crusted snapper and Turkey for Thanksgiving. The bad news is the waiter took our order and that was the last time he came back. Somebody else delivered our food and nobody came robot table for water, drinks nothing. We were at the restaurant for an hour and the last 10-15 minutes was waiting for someone to bring a check. No service at all. I finally told the host who said she was a manager. She said she would send the waiter. No apologies no coming to our table, nothing! I went to the bar and asked for a manager and she came. She said she was going to come to our table but she had set two table around us but never came to is. I told her a simple, I'm sorry goes a long way. Her response was that it is usually better. Wow! Went here with 2 of my girlfriends that I just graduated college with, one of which who happened to order a drink (off their overpriced drink menu), our waiter proofed her and then proceeded to ask me and the 3rd person with us how old we were and where we were from for some reason, as if he was testing us to see if we were actually of the drinking age, even though we did not order any drinks. The waiter brought back the drink my first friend ordered and again, mentioned to us two, who did not order any drinks, that if we wanted any he was going to have to proof us as well. Extremely pushy, and I got aggravated very quickly because not once did we mention wanting to order a drink, just because our first friend had. Then I proceeded to ask how big their also overly priced dinner entree's were, because my friend and I were planning on sharing. Our waiter made a circle shape with his hands to demonstrate the extremely small portion we'd be receiving then saying," it's not enough for both of you", after that my friend paid for her drink so we could go elsewhere to eat, as we were leaving the waiter asked "what was wrong", I didn't bother to say anything as we just gathered our belongings and left, because I think it was self explanatory. Wow! Fantastic experience for everyone we've always taken here. The warm welcoming by Goran and Mr. G always adds a nice touch. We are so thrilled to have a first class "neighborhood" restaurant in Naples! We love the live music which adds a classy touch to the experience. We recommend the colossal prawn appetizer which is large enough for two, the lasagnette entree is superb as well. For a nice table presentation, we love the cheese flambé. My husband and I both had fish of the day; he had Yellow Snapper & I had Branzino. When it came to the table they were both whole fish and 2 waiters stood table side to bone & serve our dinner. They came with a DELICIOUS sauce and we could choose our sides. Now I am NOT a fish lover, but this I ordered on the recommendation of my sister, who had gotten it last year. We go to this restaurant at least once each year while wintering in Naples and have been stumped as to why they weren't more crowded. No idea how this place even has 3.5 stars. We ordered 4 appetizers, all of which , aside from the cheese flambé was absolutely over cooked and dry. When we were so disappointed with the apps, we asked for the check and decided to forego dinner. The owner asked what the problem was and we told him the truth. Instead of being gracious and apologizing he attacked our opinions and disagreed with the table. Any other restaurant owner or manager on the planet would at LEAST take one of the apps off the bill...but this jerk...nope! Paid $130 for apps n a round of drinks and left absolutely disgusted. What a disappointing experience. Risotto was the worst. If you could get in a can it would have been better. I could not eat my tuna. I have purchased frozen tuna that was better. Seared tuna with no sear. Texture was mushy and stringy at the same time. My friend had the flavorless Branzino...he ate it...he will eat anything. The sauce was also used in risotto. Just nasty. The service was mediocre. Empty rainy evening and it took 10 minutes to get a piece of lime. It was turning yellowish brown on edges because it had obviously been cut days prior. Traveling from Daytona Beach to Naples with my family, we were looking for somewhere to have a nice lunch. We never go to chain restaurants, so Aqua was perfect! We sat outside to enjoy the breeze and people watch. We all got Macedonian salads which are very light and flavorful! We ordered a few apps to share. Colossal garlic prawns, calamari and the lobster spring rolls (which were my are my personal favorite). Very awesome meal to start off our stay in Naples, and so close to the beach! We are headed back soon in September to Naples, definitely visiting Aqua to have a spectacular dinner and say HI to our favorite host Mr.G!!!! read more

We are visiting from the UK, there were 4 in our party we had a wonderful dinner on Christmas day evening, the food was 'to die for' can throughly recomend the steak, chicken and fish, all cooked to perfection, please also have the creamed potatoes, gorgeous. The only small negative was the service, probably because the staff needed some training but very polite, as only been opened for a few weeks I'm sure this will improve. read more

I requested the song Unchained Melody and the singer immediately sang the song, making the entire crowd fall in love. The music in itself was enough to drift you away from all your worries. Tonight , had a birthday dinner for one of my closest friends and one of my friends had suggested aqua on fifth. When we got there is was a nice set up , the gentleman that helped us to our table was very welcoming. Everything went well at first, the service was alright just not what you expect when dining on 5th ave. Reasons for that is the server was just terrible . Her name is Crystal . She forgot to bring a couple of drinks to the table for start. Didn't even bother offering us more water so we basically had empty cups throughout dinner. After our entrees, I had politely asked for two to go boxes for our food. She nodded her head and said she will be on that and proceeded to carry the plates away. 15 20 minutes passed still no to go containers but brought out the cake. So we asked her about our to go boxes. Her response was a paused look of confusion and asked what boxes ? We then told her that we were waiting for our packaged food that was leftover. She told us oh I threw it away already I didn't hear you. Meaning to say that we ate a tiny portion of it but yet paid the full price for it ? Doesn't make sense. But before that was even asked. She always went to the bar to chat and hangout and completely ignore us basically the whole time. I mean how could a server say oh you guys are my last table for the night and give us shitty service ? Like how would you personally react .... just saying Crystal really needs better training or work somewhere else because obviously she's not qualified to be a server. Tonight was supposed to go perfect but to be honest it was a nightmare. I already spoke with the gentleman that helped us in the beginning, found out he was the owner. Was very frustrated at the time. So I suggest not dining there anymore even though it was our first time there. Bad experience just because of the server. Hope there was a better solution then just having her pay me back the tip that was already taken out . Just really upset. And I never complain but wow just had to full warn other diners about this one. read more

Went to Aqua on a Saturday night. Bar was not too busy. Ordered some cocktails and a few happy hour appetizers. Waited almost 30 minutes for them to come out with lots of excuses while waiting. The staff seemed friendly but actually very rude. I noticed in their ice well they did not use an ice scooper and they had numerous items such as wine bottles, cranberry juice sitting in with the ice that was being used to make drinks and serve water. I questioned the bartender who was quite surprised but said she mentioned it to management but this is how we do things here was their response. We paid our bill and left. I would not recommend this establishment for sanitary reasons behind the bar. Seemed very unorganized behind the bar. Also saw one bartender take something from a container from the bar and eat it and never washed her hands. Used mixing shakers to get and serve ice. Needs a major Bar rescue. read more

There are few (probably none)restaurants in Naples that offer fresh whole fish prepared in a simple dressing of olive oil and lemon .What a treat!! Most restaurants in Naples serve fillets of fish smothered with "stuff" to hide ordinary quality and boost the price. Aqua is on a very small list of restaurants in Naples I would frequent regularly. read more

We ordered the ceviche appetizer and the roasted beets with goat cheese salad appetizer. Both were great. We had stopped at lunch time for a small bite and a glass of wine. Had lunch here last Friday. Had the grilled grouper. My client had the shrimp linguine. Food was good but pricey for lunch. Great ambiance!

My husband and I are snowbirds and last season visited Aqua on a number of occasions at lunch time for their fish and chips which we had found to be the best in the area and had also recommended them to many people. On November 10th we decided that we really wanted fish and chips and went to Aqua again. What a disappointment. The fish was not cooked and I had to send it back. When the order was returned the fish was still not cooked and both our plates were swimming in grease. Neither of us ate our meal. When the waiter finally came back to our table I told him about it and his reply was that the kitchen was very busy. He said that he would take care of it. About 15 minutes later he came back with our bill (full amount). Unfortunately, this place is now off our list of eating places and we will never return. read more

There were only a handful of people there, yet the service was incredibly slow and we were both served the wrong entrée, which was unbelievable to us since we both ordered the same dish for lunch. Traveling in Naples on business, I stopped at Aqua for dinner. I enjoyed seating at the bar, the roasted beet salad was wonderful and the crab cakes were WOW. The bartender and fellow customers were friendly. I highly recommend Aqua, so much so when my husband arrived for the weekend, we revisited Aqua. This time we (obviously) had the crab cakes again and tried the mussels. The mussels were another great choice. Overall, this is an upscale restaurant without any upscale complications. Just ate at Aqua. Disappointing. Given it was a Sunday night in January but no energy. A very nice server at the bar but no energy. I ordered the roasted beets which were good but uninspired. A ball of goat cheese on top of the arugula and beets - clearly should've been warmed - it would've incredibly enhance the flavor of the dish. The pork belly appetizer arrived just barely warm. I mentioned it to the server and she offered to take it off the bill and I said absolutely not. Having said that it was delicious. A gentleman, I don't know who he was, came over and asked me how my dinner was and I said the pork belly was excellent but it arrived just warm. He did not make any comment whatsoever and just said I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner. I don't think the chef ever got the message. Competition in this town is fierce and there's no question that this restaurant will be busy in the high season on the busy nights but they miss the mark.
