I'm going to give this place at 3 stars because the food was good actually very good but the service left a lot to be desired. Not sure what was up with our server and quite frankly I don't even have her name but she was very put out by our dining experience. Seemed like she really just wanted to go home. Food was good. Out and about in Naples being "touristy" on 5th Avenue..stopped in for a white tablecloth dinner. We we're immediately seated with no problem (even picking our seating preference). House salad with the citrus vinaigrette was a delicious start. I ordered the pan braised grouper with shitake mushrooms, and it was garlicy but pretty good. I would opt for a little sauce on the fish if I got it again. Hubby ordered the seasme crusted ahi tuna and it was delicious...light and super tender. Spinach salad with watermelon was mediocre although the grilled chicken addition was quite tasty. The Macedonia salad was equally uninspired. To boot, if it matters to you, there is a HUGE Ron DeSantis banner in the bar. (Prefer to eat in peace without political message of ANY kind). This is an update to my post about Goran, the owner of Aqua restaurant on Fifth Avenue, The All American sports bar located on 41 in Naples Florida and also owns the Lili TIki bbq on Fort Myers beach. So last night Friday March 6, 2020 I received a phone call on my cell phone from Officer Vito from The Naples PD at 7:16 pm and we spoke for 30 minutes as I was arriving to have dinner at a reputable restaurant in Naples. PO Vito who is the bicycle/ Community police officer for Fifth Avenue and knows all of the owners of the establishments that he patrols as that is part of his job and apparently they all have his cell phone number. He told me he received a call from Goran and that Goran would like to speak to me to straighten this out in a civil manner. I told the officer I didn't think that was possible based on my interaction with Goran on Wednesday when I tried to have a civil conversation with him and he threatened me to a fight by asking me several times "to take it out to the back". He told me Goran's side of what Goran felt transpired and then I told him the truth, which is my side. The officer stated it's pretty much the same version Goran is saying except for the part where I told him "go F your mother". After speaking to him for 30 minutes on the phone I told him I will not be coming down there because I don't believe Goran can be a man and act in a responsible and civil manner. Two minutes later I had a change of heart and called PO Vito back and told him I would meet them down there because I will give him the opportunity to hear what Goran had to say. I did advise PO Vito that I personally went to the Naples PD headquarters on Thursday March 5, 2020 and filed a report with an unnamed Sgt. who when I explained what had transpired told me I did the right thing by turning his offer to fight down and trying to de escalate the situation. Goran came out of the restaurant and Vito asked me to let him explain what happened to which I complied. Goran stated he did some investigating and there were 2 Robert Whites in Aqua Sunday night and the bartender got confused.( What are the chances ? ) He then asked me if I said anything sarcastic to the bartender which was his daughter to which I told him No, when she gave me the first 2 checks with someone else's credit card in it I returned them to her explaining they were not my checks or credit cards. The 2 ladies who were seated in front of me as I was standing behind them receiving 3 checks and 2 different credit cards heard what was going on and said " Boy we better check out ours " He then said his bartender made a mistake and took a wad of cash from his pocket and stated he offered me money the other day to correct this situation to which he did not and I told him you told me to go " F yourself" then threatened to " take me out to the back" to which I declined. He also stated I was thrown out of there 3 weeks ago to which I replied maybe you have me confused with " the other Robert Whites ". Goran told PO Vito he wanted me trespassed and threatened to sue me civilly for the honest remarks I had posted to Facebook, yelp, google and Naples restaurants Facebook page which is where this will be going as an update. He wanted them taken down and I refused to take them down because it is the truth to what has transpired. He stated he has been in business for 30 years and knows a lot of people. I reiterated the posts would not be taken down because they are the truth and I will not be bullied or bought with cash. I told him I received about 20 messages from people I don't even know who thanked me for exposing him for the maniac that he is and the way he runs his business. I knew Goran would seek some type of retribution and wanted to explain I had filed a report with an unnamed Naples PD Sgt in person the day before. At this point I was being detained because PO Vito requested my drivers license to fill out the trespass report and ran my drivers license to see if I had any warrants over the Police radio. Everyone walking by was looking at me like I was a criminal because I was standing there with three police officers from the Naples Police Department. A lot of customers that came out of Aqua greeted and joked with Officer Vito as apparently he is well known on fifth Avenue. I did advise Officer Vito to write down what transpired on this night should I be sued civilly by Goran because he will be subpoenaed to testify as a witness. I did refuse to sign the trespass warning as there is no need for me to sign it as I will never be going to Aqua or the all American sports bar ever again. He also said he told his employees to stop commenting on my posts. When I got home last night I checked and saw his daughter Jackie had deleted her posts in response to my review of Aqua. I had already taken screenshots of what she wrote. read more

Ok lunch. Papperdelle w/ bolognese was awesome, although clam chowder had sand in it. Crispy panko chicken burned on the outside, un-cooked on the inside. How does that even happen? Summer lunch menu was a good deal though. Comes with two courses for $12.99 which is cheaper than the real lunch menu itself. Not fancy, sea theme. $34 for a vodka and double cranberry...maybe there was a communication error since I wanted double cranberry. But when I asked about the price (I pay cash in bars) I was told "you're on 5th ave". Later had an issue with the manager over the restrooms and she was awful. These people do not care to hear anything less than perfect. A dire warning to anyone attempting to eat at the new Bonita Springs restaurant Aqua. Last night, November 14, my wife and I had high expectations for a good meal and fun time at Aqua. I heard about it from a tennis friend and saw the name on the old Perkins location. On arrival the parking lot was filled so I was pleasantly surprised that for such a new offering it appeared to be off to a great start. The hostess said we'd have to wait a half hour for a table which considering such a crowd we thought it perfectly reasonable. My wife sat on a stone wall outside while I tried to get us drinks. I stood around the entrance of the bar for ten to 15 minutes while three bartenders poured and then delivered drinks into the restaurant. No one acknowledged me. No "Sorry for the delay" or "I'll be right with you" or "You are next". Then the hostess stepped in, not offering to help but to key some numbers into a screen. When she was done I asked "Should I be standing somewhere else to order a drink?" Instead of offering assistance she yelled at me "Can't you see we're busy? You're standing in everybody's way!" Then on the way to a table she was mumbling under her breath. I said to my wife: "I don't feel welcome here." The hostess then yelled again: "What did you say?" I said: "We're leaving." She yelled again in the courtyard so all the diners could hear: "Good, go someplace else and spoil someone else's day!" This could be a one off but I don't think so. I would be fearful of ever going to Aqua again that I'd encounter this person. A hostess is the face of a restaurant. Being pleasant and patient should be second nature. This is a person in the wrong position. I'd hate to have this face represent my business. read more

Overall this is a good restaurant. The ambiance is nice and the service was great. I had the sesame crusted ahi tuna and it was delicious. Seared perfectly and the seaweed salad that came with it was good. My mom had the salmon and she liked it. Overall it was a good meal but a bit pricey. read more

I've been coming to 5th ave since I was a kid. My boyfriend and I decided to go to Aqua for lunch and despite the hard-to-miss DeSantis flag over the bar - which I think is odd for any restaurant to endorse a political figure/candidate so blatantly regardless of party affiliation - we sat down since we were hungry and wanted something a little quicker than what 5th avenue had to offer at that time of day. We had come here once last year (my boyfriend and I visit my grandparents once or twice a year for our college breaks) in a similar situation when we wanted a quicker bite to eat on 5th and the food was pretty good, and our waiter at the time was very pleasant (middle-aged dude, very humble, thinking of him fondly). Keep in mind, it was roughly 3:30 when we got there this time around. When we walked in, the two bartenders kind of just looked at us and then continued with the conversation they were having when we walked in. No acknowledgement. Great start. After an awkward 20-30 seconds of standing there, someone came out to seat us but told us they were switching to the dinner menu. I immediately smelled the BS as - like I said - it was 3:30 in the afternoon. Their lunch menu is significantly cheaper than their dinner menu. I suppose they could do with the extra money considering there was not a single other soul in the restaurant when we turned up. My boyfriend and I decided "what the heck?" in spite of the red flags (pun intended) and sat down with the menus to see overpriced dinner items, and I very quickly realized that I wished I was looking at their lunch menu. With the shady menu bait-and-switch, the staff being cold to us, and the DeSantis flag staring us down as a gay couple (the flag now making the environment more imposing with the 3 staff members being stand-offish), it's needless to say I was pretty uncomfortable! But we decided to stay for lunch because screw the potential homophobes. I wanted food, and if me and a majority of the LGBTQ+ community still eats at Chik-fil-A, then I was eating here today. It's SW Florida, so half of these restaurants at a minimum don't like my boyfriend and I by default anyway. Who cares. The food was fine. The garlic shrimp was a little bland. Calamari was delicious and I'm not afraid to admit that. Like I said, I wanted my food. My next problem came with the standoffish waiter immediately assuming we were only ordering appetizers and leaving. I think he assumed that we didn't have enough money to pay for entrees, which was very irritating. I sure did have the money, but was not expecting to be told at 3:30 in the afternoon that y'all were serving your overpriced dinners. So I will not be paying that; it's quite simple. My boyfriend and I weren't dressed to the nines by any means, but I guess in ritzy 5th ave if you're not dressed in the best those sugar daddies can buy their escorts for the night then you can't afford dinner. I did order the watermelon and spinach salad which was pretty good and filling. Extra content: a black father and his young daughter who couldn't have been more than 10 walked in and then immediately walked out upon observing the DeSantis sign. Listen, you have every right to hang that flag. Is your pride worth the business though? The owner I imagine would answer, yes. I'm not a business owner though, so what do I know? Anyway, after experiencing the cold wait staff, shady menu switch, unwelcoming atmosphere, and weird shades of classism when the waiter assumed we were only getting appetizers, I think I will stick to Chik-fil-A if I'm ever in the mood to give money back to my Republican brothers and sisters in the food industry. Did not ask any of us if we wanted wine or drinks in general and took our glasses away. almost right after sitting down we were ordering because Jimmy (our server) was in such a rush to do god knows what but it wasn't his job clearly. He was miserable all night we had him wouldn't say excuse me when taking away plates would reach between people. He consistently had an attitude and was making our experience here horrible. we had a table of 14 he lost out on very good tips because he was a complete dick. I think every reasonable person understands that there is a closing time - however, last call is usually 30 minutes before closing. The ambience was very nice. It was clean, with not too bright lighting. The music was not too loud. We were there around 8:30 and it was not very busy. This made me a bit nervous, as it can sometimes mean the place isn't great. However, the service was great and I got exactly what I was on the hunt for in the area: a tasty sweet martini. I ordered the Aqua martini and let the bartender know I was looking for something sweet. She said she'd make it extra sweet, and damn if it wasn't perfect and refreshing. This has to be one of the noisiest restaurants I have ever had the misfortune of dining at. Even the waiters were loud, constantly yelling into the kitchen for status of orders. The clam chowder was decent but a little starchy. The lump crab cake was just ok as it was not seasoned in the way I would have expected. One of my friends ordered a pasta dish but had to ask for grated cheese. I always thought pasta and grated cheese went together like salt and pepper. My wife had the 5oz filet and ordered it medium well. It was cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes appeared to have been overly wet and soggy. All in all, it was a disappointing experience especially given the price tag. If you decide to go, be sure to get a reservation in the back room away from the bar. Happy hour menue was good and has many offerings. My wifes 5oz blue cheese burger was cold. Fries were very good. I had Cuban gumbo soup which was ok. Expected more flavor. We drank house red and white wine which was sufficient. Service was ok as we were there during shift change. Lots of locals that deservedly got most of the attention from bar staff. My boyfriend and I went last weekend and tried this restaurant on a whim . I'm so glad we did ! We sat outside and had wonderfully seasoned steaks with yummy sides of Yukon gold purée ,broccolini ,and a garlic bulb . The complimentary bread was OMG soooo good ! There was a musician on the piano singing and patrons dancing inside, just a really cozy atmosphere , and our waiter John was perfect. Attentive when he should be but gave us just enough space for a romantic dinner . We need more waiters like John ! Thanks for a great dinner Aqua.
