It's so interesting to see all of the different reviews, because they seem to indicate an inconsistency of service. I haven't noticed that with the new owners. I've been there 5-6 times this past year for gel pedicures and cannot praise them enough. The pedicure was amazing (and the products smelled GREAT), the service attentive, atmosphere was relaxing with very quiet music, excellent leg & feet massages, and a mimosa to boot! I had a pedicure at aqua nails recently, they did a terrible job. They offered a redo, but I didn't feel confident that the outcome would be any better. They are definitely lacking skilled technicians. I was there a few months ago and was very happy with the service. $30 for a gel manicure and it was the worst I've had- NOT worth it. 1. My thumbnail was filed down to my skin on the edge which made the skin raw and sensitive. 2. The gold shimmer in the gel polish separated itself into patches on my nail and it became worse over time which is weird! I've never had that happen 3. The hand massage was quick and lazy 4. The lotion/oil smelled nice- probably the only thing I liked. Overall, definitely will not be back. It almost makes me want to go to school and do nails myself as a side job because I would do a much better job than all the photos I've been seeing on yelp for places in the Portland area. read more

My daughter and I have loved our experience getting dipped nails. They are beautiful and last three weeks. The staff is professional and the environment is relaxing. We got the shellac pedicure and it has lasted three weeks also. The massage chairs are relaxing and you have a couple different options for your pedicure. The leg massage was wonderful and my feet felt so refreshed. The store is very clean and they were very hygienic with everything they used. They have options to get drinks while you are getting your nails done. We will definitely keep getting our nails done there. read more

I have been to Aqua Nails several times throughout the last couple of years. It's an aesthetically pleasing salon in a nice area. The pedicures I've had there have always been just fair, nothing exceptional. But, it's close to home so I return when I need a pedicure. This time I made an appointment for myself and my two young children. We arrived and were all seated with our feet in the water. There were three people working that day. One technician started on my feet and the other went to start on one of my kids. However, a new customer walked through the door (no appointment) and they decided to start on them instead. I was finished with my pedicure before they even started on one of my kids. On top of that, the man cut my nail bed so severely during the pedicure that I now have a terrible infection. Absolutely miserable customer service and definitely not worth a doctor's visit for an infected toe. I will never return to Aqua Nails, and hope you will consider going some place else. read more

I was violated by my massage chair. Very nice people, very odd salon. This nail salon is located in the lower portion of the West Linn Central Village. It was actually my third option for a pedicure today. My favorite nail salon in town, Venus, is closed on Sunday and another one near my house had a line out the door. Guess everyone was getting ready for Oscar night. My first impression wasn't good. The salon smelled like smoke. This went away during my visit and I didn't notice it after awhile so perhaps a fluke. I was the only customer so there was no waiting and three ladies fussed over the pedicure station getting it all ready for me. The foot massage and pedicure were quite nice, but something was up with the massage chair. This is one of my favorite ways to relax for an hour, but this one took liberties with my derrière. Rather than just have the standard rolling back massage, the sides of the chair squeeze you and well other things happened that a lady just shouldn't mention. The funniest part were the motorized sounds coming from the chair (think of a car on a hydraulic lift) so it was hard to keep a straight face. All the transactional elements were standard. They take credit cards and have a good number of cheesy magazines, although many were quite dated. There are other nail salons I prefer in West Linn, Tualatin and Wilsonville, so my rating doesn't mean this one is bad, just that I've experienced better in the area. Went for pedis today with my Grandma. I picked the deluxe pedi which was $40 and did gel. Somehow my total was $65 and I couldn't even ask them about it because they spoke zero English. My grandma asked 4 times for a flower on her toe and the lady had no idea what she was asking and just cleaned up the polish on her toe. She even tried pointing to the flower on her shirt and still she wasn't understanding. It was bizarre. Definitely wasn't a $65 pedicure, I had to clean up my cuticles and trim polish that was over my nails when I got home. 2 stars because they were at least smiling and nice ‍ read more

Kim is literally the sweetest. Everyone there is so sweet and friendly. They remember you and make you feel so welcome. Kim always does the best job on my nails. I have been getting dip for a few months now and they are so long and beautiful and they are my natural nails! The decor in the salon is so modern and clean. It's truly a beautiful salon. After trying most nail places in the area I have finally found a place to come back to! The salon is classy and clean with minimalist decor, not cluttered, crowded and filthy like many. It doesn't smell awful inside either and I've never seen it very crowded or had to wait. I have shellac done on my nails by Nikki every 2-3 weeks and have always been impressed with her attention to detail, perfect shape & length and the wonderful hand massage with lotion at the end, as well as being brought a mug of hot green tea. The atmosphere is chic and elegant while being comfortable and relaxing at the same time. Those who work here seem to truly like each other and treat the others like a little family. Once in while they speak to each other not in English, but it's obvious it isn't about me, like it has felt in other places. Everyone is friendly and kind, no attitude and haughtiness like at other salons in West Linn where I have been treated with such rudeness by the staff. In the past some nail experiences were downright awkward and I'd dread it, look for a new place, but here it's a real treat I look forward to. The prices are only a few dollars more than the cheapest places I've been to, and SO worth it. There a few items for sale-stylish jewelry, bags, candles lotions and nail care products, very classy but affordable items. They offer punch cards for a free visit. I've been getting my lash extensions here for years now. Vanessa is efficient, the space is clean, and I constantly recieve compliments on how full and natural my lashes look. I've heard of people's experiences of being in a chair for hours (especially for an initial set) and that's never been my experience. The price is only $25 for a deluxe pedi and they are detailed, and as another said beyond your expectations with a parrafin wax and long foot rub. In addition the girls are sweet and attentive. $50 for a dip. By dip I mean only the dip. Which was very thick and uneven. Granted I had shorter nails, I have never experienced this before. The whole thing was really fast, no cleaning my cuticles or nippers, no exfoliating, and no massage. After the uneven dip was put on, there was zero even-ing of it, and the clear coats/ top coat to seal it all in was barely painted on, leaving half of my nails sticky and gooey when I left. I had to go back, because the powder was still showing and peeling off all around. Both visits, there was no one in there getting their nails done, which makes me believe they are not popular for a reason. I won't be going back. read more

I'm not sure what the hoopla is for this place... I was not impressed like AT ALL. Yes the customer service was great, but they offered no beverage of any kind (no wine, no tea etc)- like nothing! The one star is for the massage with the hot stone and that's pretty much it. First I was asked to buy my own supplies of nail kit-- this is a bit weird because even higher end salons don't offer this. Very tacky sales. But I buy anyways... Just for the sake of not making a fuss because I want total relaxation. But it's pretty hard to relax when someone is obviously selling you to buy in the middle of a session! Secondly, the nail polish selection is very limited and I'm an Essi/OPI kind of a gal. I never saw one Essie color so you won't find that here- thank God they have OPI! The rest are just generic nail polish you could probably get at Target. The person who did my manicure didn't even ask me to wash my hands after filing my nails down- gross! That's not healthy. Third, the towels are weird and a bit old. I was cringing when they had hot towels in my feet for a pedicure, yet offered none for my hands when I had a manicure. It's... Just... Not that high end of a salon as your expect from a Yelp review. If pass on this place next time. Oh and by the way, make sure you wear and bring your own flip flops because they do not give these out like normal from other places. Talk about being stingy! And I'm paying for these things? Thanks, but no thanks. If you are looking for recycled items, tacky sales pitches, and guilt trips go here. Great place for a pedicure, but I would not recommend it for nails. We have tried it a few times and I won't be going back, unfortunately. I will say that the ladies that work there are super nice! The actual service just wasn't up to par. My niece and I booked an appt to get our nails done and when we got there, only one person was doing nails and it took her 2 and half hours. I asked for tips to be put on under my dip multiple times for some length and she just went ahead and did it without them after saying she couldn't make the short almond shape I wanted. There were other things, but I don't want to totally bash the place, I was just super disappointed and so was my niece. I had to go home and try to redo the design on her nails. I do wish they would not automatically assume a tip was coming. I always tip, but it feels weird when they ask, "do you have cash for a tip?" and when I said no, I have a card, she stood over me and watched me write the amount down. All in all - not the best place to go for nails. I am guessing they have not done any continued education on nails to better their techniques and such. read more

I keep trying to like this place and it is close to home. I only get pedicures and have been going there for a few years now. I'm done with them. I give great tips and tell them every time that I prefer the massage and don't care about the color. Last time I was there it was very hot, not that I tend to mind that. She was busy talking, as they always do amongst each other in Vietnamese and she held the hot stone against my leg not paying attention. I got my leg burned and had to tell her to pay attention. It was too hot for stones and other hot treatments. I told her no hot treatments, she ignored me and tried to put my feet in the hot wax, I told her no. She THEN tried to put the hot towels on my legs after I repeated "NO HOT ITEMS, please". She said, "Your certificate for Deluxe, why not"? The owner had to step in and talk to her. I got the worst massage ever, which was NOTHING. I am really disgusted and fed up. I won't go back. Used to be a pretty decent place. Really not good anymore. Disappointing. read more

Great place to spend rainy Sunday afternoon. Found this place on Yelp, many nail salons nearby were closed on Sunday, but Aqua Nail bar had openings, my daughter and I were thrilled. I didn't ask for or experience anything out of the ordinary. This was a nice place, good atmosphere, very pleasant staff. Even though they were busy and I didn't want any polish they attended to my pedicure and foot massage(wonderful) for a full hour+ My daughter went for a manicure and brow wax. They do a good job on nails. A really good job, as they should because it is expensive! But I will NEVER get waxed there again. The first time I did I lift with half of my eyebrows. Just got my lip waxed and the wax around my entire mouth! I didn't ask for that and now I have a red mouth and they don't even use proper soothing liquid after. They are very expensive and the only nice person working there Is the older woman owner. This place is gorgeous inside - it looks much higher end than the average nail salon. They really tried to make it a relaxing beautiful environment. They have all the goodies, hot stone pedicures, shellac, waxing, and even lash extensions (which I have not tried). The massage chairs are in good condition and the technicians are super nice. There is very little conversation between technicians other than in English - I know that is a sore spot for some people. I've had waxing, shellac manicure and pedicures done here and I was mostly pleased each time. The last brow wax I had went a little too far, but hair grows back :) it was still nice looking, I just had much less eyebrows than I expected!!
