I was coming here for a solid few months. Every Monday with Tony... however today it was another off week. My last 2 services have been way subpar verses when I first started coming. I got fungus on my nail from my new gel overlay. Came back today for a fill in, there was no concern or apology along with 2 other nails almost all the lifted after 2 weeks!! ( Mind you when I first was coming months ago it was last 3 weeks with no lifting) Then when you ask for a design it's like they want you to get something fast or they don't tell you the truth about what they can do. I was very very unhappy with my service and because I asked him to change it because I didn't like it, he seemed upset. So I left with half a design I like and the other I don't. Mind you I did have my 4 yr old Autistic son with me, I think my sons few interruptions were maybe causing the rush as well so hence I left paying $45 for something I don't like but also feeling like they could careless about their clients. Okay so this is maybe my third or fourth time coming here. It's in my neighborhood so I typically go here when I can't go to my usual salon in DC since they take walk ins. I usually get the regular spa pedi (used to be $35, got bumped up to $40 which is understandable), but today I decided to treat myself to a deluxe reflexology pedi ($65). It includes everything from the deluxe pedi ($50) plus a 15 min hot lotion massage. Sam was friendly enough, though she kept trying to upsell me on services which I didn't appreciate. I got moisturizing gloves for my hands as well as a heated neck pillow during which was nice. BUT I didn't get the hot lotion reflexology massage (although she did spend about 8 min total massaging both of my calves with scrub). My cuticles aren't in good shape since she didn't spend much time on them. And the paint job is HORRENDOUS. My nails look so lumpy and bumpy. All in all, I'm likely not coming back. Last time I came and got gel on my toes, it peeled off of all my nails in two days. The customer service is decent but the shoddy end result is no where near worth $65. read more

This salon is good for a quick run in. I, personally, have never had a bad experience with them. Just don't expect to get your intricate designs there tho. All salons are not bad when you are aware of what they can do and what they can't do... If you know you're coming into town , I suggest you find you a private nail tech and book with them. A lot of these home based nail techs are really good! Just make EXTRA sure you investigate BEFORE booking! And whatever you do, do not get your eyebrows done there! I was in the area and decided to stop by to get my SNS and pedicure. Let me start off by saying I've been getting sns for the past 3 years(at a different nail salon) and never had an issue. When i arrived, i was pleased with the aesthetics and was happy to be helped promptly. Long story short, my pedicure was okay. My sns however, is thick, the shaping is not what i asked for. I visited Aqua Nails on a Thursday evening after work. The shop is very nice, the atmosphere is very soothing. I am currently searching for a new nail tech so I decided to try shops in my area based on yelp reviews. I got my nails done by Kim and it's obvious that I was her guinea pig so my experience was not so great. I had to go back in and have another tech fix my nails. I got my nails fixed by JoJo, and she worked a miracle! Other than being handed off to an obviously inexperienced tech, my visit was good! They have a wide variety of polishes, everybody is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. UPDATE: DO NOT let Kim do your nails or feet. She's super rough, does not paint well, very careless job each time. I try to not be rude and give her chances but never again. I got a pedicure a few days ago at another spa (my home spa, The Village Nail Bar), but wanted a polish change so I went to aqua for a basic $25 pedi just because i like the hot water and massage. I figured i'll give kim another chance cause there isn't much to do on my feet. She didn't need to file, didn't need to scrub, didn't need to cut any cuticles, i had a fresh pedicure. she literally went to WORK on my cuticles and I asked her to please stop because it hurts. There were literally no cuticles to cut. She was fast and rough like she was trying to pluck a chicken. She literally disregarded what I was saying until I had to put my hand down there to stop her. She left a cold wet towel on my legs while painting, i had to snatch that off myself. My polish was horrible, she doesn't paint corners and she isn't neat. I had to tell her to give me the bottle so I can do it myself to show her how to paint.‍ I tried, y'all.... I love JoJo and Tim, they are amazing but I can't go back to this shop if they are going to have people pay their hard earned money for trash work and totally disregard it. read more

I took my daughter here twice. They have a cute section set up for kids with Frozen character massage chairs and pretty decor. My daughter loves it and her nails and toes came out super cute both times. The most recent time we went was on Saturday. I decided to get a polish change on my toes and a full set. My toes are fine. Love the color. However, this full set is sloppy and rushed. Unfortunately I didn't pay it much attention until I got home later that night. They do not care to achieve an even shape across all nails nor do they care about longevity of your nail set. And if you come back complaining all the technicians team up against you lol. I love this salon! The space itself is very clean and nicely decorated, loved the interior design completely and it's huge! Now my nails and toes on the other hand were also great. I had an appointment with Sonny and I was helped immediately (even though it was packed)! My pedicure was relaxing and my toes looked good. My full set was beautiful, the shaping was perfect (I wanted coffin). I was kind of upset that they weren't able to do the design I wanted but it was pretty advanced. I went to this salon to get a fill in. when I arrived I told them I wanted a fill in with white tips. Tommy gave me a fill in and he was really fast, It took him about 10 minutes which I thought was too fast for a fill in, two days later the white tip on three nails started lifting. I was out of town celebrating my birthday so you can imagine I was really upset. When arrived back home, I went back to the nail salon so that e can fix it, he fixed it with no problem. This establishment has really gone down hill with the new management. Yes, it looks wonderful; however, they have many subpar techs that will rush and have your nails lifting in two days. This is how my nails look after two weeks. Thank also explains to her that I saw them lifting from the very beginning because of the color that I chose. I'm not a nail tech but I definitely have gotten my nails done for years. Initially I was going to go back to just get the two nails fixed and just couldn't make it over there and then three more fell off in the interim. The owner offered me a five dollar discount. She said she's raised her prices March 1. I'm not paying you another $40 for the same thing to potentially happen. I do know that Tony and LeeLee do a good job but other than that I would enter the building. Also, for some reason now they only take cash or cash app and Zelle. Hmmm, I wonder why. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER ! The manager , I am not sure her name but she is completely inconsiderate to how the customer feels about their service . While I waited 40 MIN TO BE SEATED WITH A TECHNICIAN . The man that I sat with was supposed to complete a manicure. THEY DO NOT USE CUTICLE SOAP when completing manicures . They literally dump your hand in a bowl of cold water . Then they grab your hand a start hacking at your skin . The man rushed my manicure broke the skin open on two fingers. When I reported this to the manager she just says thats what he is supposed to do . He did not complete the manicure but decided it was okay to move on to the full set I requested. This was the worst experience ever . Never again! Save your coins please ! If you value your body , your time and your skin , please be cautious before going to their establishment. I've been on the hunt for a nail salon closer to me and decided to try this place out this past Sunday. Overall experience was terrible. For starters, as I was. walking to the front door one of the male nail techs was also walking to the salon from the down the sidewalk and I kid you not, he opened the door then put his hand on the back of it as it was closing. I was no more than five steps behind him. Call me crazy but I thought it was rude. The receptionist was ok, no complaints there. The nail tech that serviced me was not very personable for the first half. She didn't talk much, moved extremely fast with my nails & didn't care much if it hurt, in my opinion... Which confused me why she got so nice at the end, gave me a business card with her name and even showed my nails off to the lady sitting in her chair. I wanted glow in the dark polish, selected my two colors and everything but she came back and said they were out so I chose a different color but I heard her speaking with a coworker in their language then she came back with regular gel polish. I don't know what the problem was but that had pissed me off because I had my mind already made up and I'm very indecisive and picky about my nails. Nonetheless I let it go and got a neon green with a couple chrome accent nails. They looked decent the first two days but by Tuesday I noticed my thumb nail bubbling and the polish peeled. The shape of my nails has also changed drastically, supposed to be coffin but some are round and she took too much off the sides and rounded my edges a bit. Very dissatisfied, not worth the $60 at all ! I got a fill, three repairs and a "cut down". The salon is really nice on the inside so that's what my two stars are for. ‍ read more

I spent the summer visiting my mom and sister in Maryland from NYC and since returning I still travel to Aqua Nails & Spa to get my nails blessed by JoJo. Not only does she do an amazing job with personalized designs and shaping, but she also​ takes care of my nails. I came to her with gel nails that kept breaking and she recommended I switch to a powder. Since doing so my nails are longer and stronger.
