If I could give zero stars I would. I faithfully brought my daughter here and she had 3 lessons remaining when she contracted RSV. RSV is a highly contagious respiratory virus that can cause bronchitis, pneumonia and hospitalization in children. Carly Caldwell, the owner of this establishment continued to charge me for lessons I wasn't receiving during my daughter's illness. I wrote a letter to stop payment, she then sent that letter to my bank in order to prevent reimbursement of services not received. Her and I even spoke by phone and although I thought we would reach a resolution, she never called me back. It's sad to me that my daughter was never able to finish and during a difficult time of illness with my child, Carly put an additional $180 in her own pocket as a result. read more

Lack of customer service. My kids have been going to this school for 7 months. We've been paying $450 per month. We missed one scheduled session (two 15 minutes) and asked to make it up if they have a cancellation. They allowed to make up one, but told us their policy does not allow to make up the other. Lack of customer service is always a bad business judgment. A good business needs to have some flexibility in their policies and customer appreciation, especially that this was the only time during the past 7 months that we've missed. It doesn't cost them much to allow a make up during a cancellation because the coach is still in the pool. I have cancelled lessons for both kids because my policy is not to give business to a business that does not appreciate me as a customer. read more

I highly recommend them. My 7 month old learned to float within 3 days. She explained what she was doing and kept me very informed. She is fantastic with my daughter. Very nurturing. In my opinion Aqua Journeys is the best place, hands down, to teach your child to swim and build confidence. Frankly I was skeptical because the lessons cost more than what I was used to paying and also shorter, 10-15 minutes long. Last year I spent many weeks/months mostly in private lessons at a public pool and at a private house and saw zero progress. I even enrolled them in some group lessons thinking they would try and mimic the kids that could swim better but nothing was working. Both my girls started at Aqua Journeys still terrified of putting their head in the water and very apprehensive altogether. After the first day my four year old was comfortable getting her head in. At the end of day two my three year old was fine as well. The progress happens so fast it is a little unbelievable to me and I say this as a 10 year lifeguard captain/instructor and former swimmer in a masters program. In 11 fifteen minute lessons my four year is sprinting across the pool, rolling to her back to float if needed. She just started week four and is doing some of the same stroke drills I did when I competitively swam in high school. My three year old swam most of the length of the pool today and the fear and uncertainty she harbored is now replaced with confidence and excitement to go swimming. These instructors really have a solid understanding of how to work with children and also know the building blocks of swimming. If you want your child to swim take them here. Just try one week, you will be amazed. read more

The transformation of our 5-year old, in the last five weeks, has been absolutely amazing. Here is a child who remembers falling in the pool (supervised so he wasn't in any immediate danger), refused to step into the shower (didn't want the water on his head), and for most of his life would only stand in the bathtub. On day one he was absolutely terrified. I held my breath as I watched the instructor calmly help him face his fears of the water, always compassionate and encouraging, but never swayed or hindered, by his tears. On day two he was already a different child; the tears never came and he calmly took in the instruction he was given. On day three, to my absolute amazement, he smiled and had fun during most of the session! And here we are, five weeks later... last week he swam the entire breadth of the pool, with a confidence in the water I feared would never come. And for icing on the cake he now wants showers over baths! I cannot thank Aqua Journeys enough for the peace we feel knowing our son knows how to safely handle the water, and beyond that, giving him a solid beginning towards a lifetime of the joy of swimming. For the record I am an accomplished swimmer, having received instruction as a teen from an Olympic swimmer as well as military special forces. Even with my background, I didn't know where to begin when it came to trying to teach a child. Thankfully this is where Aqua Journeys Swim School excels. If you have a child who cannot swim, or still lacks confidence in the water, you owe it to yourself (and them) to enroll them in Aqua Journeys Swim School. This is an education no child, especially in Florida, should be without. And this is a school I cannot recommend highly enough! read more
