NEW Review: I am again going to swim classes plus with a friend for just relaxing in the pool They have had a tremendous upgrade with the Ormond Beach facility and are continuing to do more. First: Ladies locker room The ladies locker room is exceptional and closer to the main desk. You won't have to go so far back down the hall. There are different areas for different needs. The dressing rooms are apart from the bathroom which are apart from the shower and sauna. They all meet up in the same room with an enormous mirror station. Oops, forgot lockers. Beautiful new up to date lockers. ****************************** Ormond Y Master's, Hydro4, Masters. Wellness center, discounts on programs. Especially if you are a member of silver sneaker. Group exercise, including Les Mills, basketball. They also have indoor cycling, a kid zone and more. I forgot the ladies locker room. It has a sauna, a steam room, showers and.changing areas. (This is the best part for me) they have hair dryers and close-up mirrors so you can put your makeup back on. Wahoo ‍ The only thing now is they're changing to their fall schedule and that is not out yet. There are no annual fees no contracts. Right now I'm doing water aerobics . Even though I cannot swim, I don't have any balance, and the starts from 4 ft which comes up to my neck up to way over my head. (I don't know because it would be the death of me to find out Oh and yes, hours are from 5am- 8pm Mon-Sat. No Sunday's I'm really enjoying myself ( I've gone 1 day) but had my pass for 2 years. This is a great YMCA with a nice pool and brand new workout equipment. What I would recommend is another entrance to the workout equipment because you have to walk all the way around to get there. The people working there are very nice. The membership is at a good price too. The pool is very nice with many lanes to choose from. read more

The YMCA has always been a staple gym for most communities. This location as many is best known for a heated pool. There weight area is small but they have redone it with brand new equipment and it's very nice. Their locker rooms definitely need a lot to be desired and need a complete remodel. Currently in the process of finishing the remodel on earth spin room as it was more of a 1970s acid trip. The staff is great and always very helpful. There is an indoor basketball court for anyone to use. There's even a large dog park across from the parking lot for you to use even if you're not a YMCA member. read more

Allowed trainer mike to abuse me while I was working out with friends. Went out of their way, on a personal level, over the head of hr, to harass me , telling me I should go to another gym and other classes because of it, knowing the abuse came from photos on my personal IG of a group event done at the YMCA which contained Mike. Told me that asking Mike to respect me as he does all the other members, as I'm there in capacity as a member and him then yelling and cursing me out in front of other members was a personal problem. Mike lied to get the job which Martin gave him, again over the head of the formal processes laid out by HR... Was warned of past criminality to involve child abuse (breaking a 2.5 year old boys arm), as well as voiced concerns over intimate partner violent, worrisome mental health concerns, and abuse against dogs and also told it was a personal problem. But another member named Amanda told them about the abuse at YMCA after she asked about it and I told her a short story that the abuse has stemmed from a relationship in past. He would make fun of me at the gym, get jealous and voice his jealousy when I worked out with other gym memebers. I ignored it all. But they again went over HR head to please both Amanda and Mike in this situation. He's had problems with other females at the.gym to include a staff member who both stopped going - as did I for several months until I felt safe ... Didn't think he'd be emboldened by staff and employees all the way through admin ... They actually tried to remove photos for him, due to his personal problem over a photo a womN who has no affiliation with me or the YMCA saw from his other workplace ... Puts himself on the clock to get paid while he works out. Overall total unprofessional. Serious safety issues throughout the gym , esp in women's locker room that they were notified about but ignored for months while I was there. Very sketchy disbursement of funds they get in thru donors and grants. Mike asked staff who were his friends who I had no engagement with ever.to block me on IG - they did that Only recently unblocking me to stalk my profile and attempt to help get my private photos removed - and were successful in one way to do that. Trainer mike nor any of the staff and employees involved in covering up what he did were given any consequences. As I said, they continue to embolden him in what he's done to me personally, from personal interests.... And my genuine concerns I brought to them, in my defense, dismissed as personal problems. The dog park is theirs to oversee and they don't. Visitors are supposed to register their dogs with the YMCA but nobody does. Myself and many others voiced the same experience--: if you go into the YMCA to register , nobody knows anything to be done about it. I was passed along to two staff members as then Julia who said she didn't know exactly what to do. Therefore when there are unsafe incidents, as what happened to several of us when the SAME DOG was attacking people and other dogs, there we have no way to match the dog to the owner if they leave before police arrive, or to ask to trespass him for example. They just cut down a beautiful oak tree that did not show any signs of needing to be cut. I can't understand why. They gave no notice when they did it. They removed the knobs for the water so we can't fill up the water bowls or buckets for the dogs to drink out of anymore. read more

This YMCA dog park is neglected. They have received an Echo grant for the dog park and have put in minimal effort in keeping it up. There are huge holes in the dirt parking lot, in which anyone's car can be damaged and people could be too, if one drives too fast &/or is not super vigilant. The water sources for the dogs to drink are covered with mold, and some not even usable! There is also water logged soil, perhaps from sprinklers being scheduled on too often &/or bad sun tarp placement for the sun angle. I hope management at this YMCA takes the Echo grant money and gains initiative to improve. Someone at this Y needs to care, and put in more effort, and this park would be so much better! read more

We joined the Y just to go to water aerobics, and we are NOT DISAPPOINTED! The classes are terrific! Linda, the instructor, is amazing. She is supportive, caring, and funny! Plus, the workouts are really good. A large group go to the classes and everyone is really pleasant. 10 am is a great start time, too. I would give Linda 10 stars if I could :) read more

Totally love Ormond Beach YMCA I use their senior fit program 3-4 times a week aerobics classes. And have used the water aerobics class during the summer. The poole is well kept with different functions and swim meets. There is a weight room that has now been extended and a spin cycle class as well as sauna and steam room. There are other services that I haven't tried yet. And facilities for children. Plus personal trainers. I love this place and my favorite yoga classes by Jennifer Sullivan, definitely a must try. read more

Probably the most disappointing gym I have been to in a very long time. Especially after the remodel. Its like they made a lot of space turn into a little amount of space. You can't even bench there without bumping into people. read more

The outside olympic size swimming pool is amazing! The monday thru sat. water aerobics classes are extremely fun, lots of room to move around. The locals are super friendly and the teachers are enthusiastic and entertaining. If you have a chance, go! The workout facility is nice with lots of new equipment. read more

The renovations happening at the Ormond Y are for the most part great. The powers that be have decided that the men's and women's locker rooms will no longer have a steam room, only a sauna. The Y is the only Facility in the area that offers both steam and sauna. It makes no sense to eliminate the commodity that members appreciate and enjoy. The membership was never polled as to their wishes regarding the renovations. Some members have already left knowing that steam will be gone. Others, I know, will leave once the renovations are complete. I encourage others to share their feelings with Chris Seilkop and Charlie Lydecker, who I believe are the decision makers. read more

Sometimes you will find roaches in the locker rooms. Especially in the sauna. And sometimes in the lobby by the coffee.

I love this ymca it is so friendly and the teachers that teach the classes are AWSOME! Vicki you are one of them!

The outside of the Y look massive but you get inside and there's just not a lot to offer. The pool is great and very nice. The gym is tiny, I've seen hotel gyms that were nicer. Equipment is out of date. They do offer a few fitness classes but times are not consistent. There are many posters on the walls of what looks like a hopeful update, but not sure when that will be. Nice people but not worth the membership till it gets a face lift. read more

I took some time off from this place because of the issues I had before thinking things would be different. Yeah they were different they were worse!! Do people not have any pride? In the 20 minutes I was there I had three women hanging out in the sauna buck naked. Yes they were sitting on towels but all their parts were hanging out there for all to see. One was actually drying her bits and another was doing stretching on her back. I grabbed my stuff and went to leave and the staff upfront did not even ask me what my problems were just sat nodding like a mule. read more

horrible placement of machinery it's almost like you can't do anything without bumping into each other they place the punching bag in the hallway where citizens walk past at a horrible angle it's sitting there just waiting for someone to get hit on accident, all of the machines are squeezed together like sardines the amount of times people bump into each other and trip over each other in this gym is just unnecessary. read more

Local Ormond beach YMCA is great if you don't mind showering with homeless people, which is not on my bucket list! They allow the homeless to shower there, but don't give the members a heads up. Nasty. The locker rooms ( as of last year) were rusting and small. Machines were Not up to date. Try the Port Orange Ymca instead! read more

I am disappointed with gym because I used to use port orange ymca and I thought this gym might be similar. I found this gym to be very dark and geared toward senior citizens. The equipment is mixed with old and new. I use mostly free weights and that was all old stuff. They actually some nice Nautilus gym equipment if you are into that. Hopefully they will update the free weight area at some point. There is a very nice basketball course however there is always something going on in there so I never get to use it. The pool is also very nice, I am not a swimmer but if I was that would be the only reason I would use this gym. The gym dose have good family rates and the staff is very nice. I would suggest this gym if you are a swimmer or a senior citizen. read more

The pool here is second to none. They are also in the middle of a complete remodel. New management has made a huge difference.

This place won't let you use a guest pass to play basketball. Agreed on paying $5 a week for non-members and two weeks later an "executive decision" was made to pay $10. Have yet to be greeted in a nice or friendly manner by anyone at the front desk. Been coming here for years with no issues prior to this! read more

I take several group fitness classes here and most of the instructors are really good. they gym is decently stocked with equipment, more and better quality than some of the other local Ys. I can't make a comment about the value because my membership is free with my health insurance. read more
