Small but effective Planet Fitness right off of the beach. Staff were very friendly when we walked in to the gym. They have a small 30 minute/quick workout space as well as a room for abs and other mobility exercises. Gym was clean with plenty of hand sanitizers. Not many benches by the weight racks. Easy in, easy out. Well maintained. read more

It's a great gym, good machines friendly staff and it's not too crowded, but, some of the people stay on a machine forever!

Visiting 3 times per week. Greeted by a friendly staff upon arrival. I found plenty machines to assist me in my quest to improve my cardio system. Equipment is all digital and easy to operate and monitor progress during workouts. I have only been coming now for two weeks or 6 visits and I already feel at home here. I feel that this is the gym I can pursue my health improvement. it is a great outlet from the daily grind. read more

visiting from Nashville. my experience here was very nice. this gym is a lot smaller than the one back home but this place is CLEAN. i can tell they take really good care of the facility here. they have 1 lay down tanning bed which was fine. overall 5/5 (: read more

The staff here are horrible. Especially Lauressa and the manager. I have never been treated with less professionalism or customer service in my life! I was treated rudely by Lauressa and asked for her name and the phone number of the owner and was given the phone number to the gym instead. The manager then told me that I had "bad energy" and that I needed to find another place to work out and that he was canceling my membership! I never had one interaction with staff or any members and when I was unhappy with Lauressa's interaction with me on 2 occasions, I was pushed out of the gym! I would like to talk to the owner about this, as it is a poor reflection on Planet Fitness and your franchise. read more

All the reviews about the staff and the way they treat people here is correct. Not only do they keep being extremely rude to people but they claim they are privately owned so they don't have to be nice. I guess they think because they are on A1A they can be as crappy to people as they want. DEF not a typical planet fitness. Go somewhere else! read more

Never have I ever... Hi planet fitness, You will be pleased to hear that myself and my workout group on Facebook will be boycotting planet fitness based on a single employees extremely disrespectful behavior. Then again, you have continued to employ her despite repeated complaints and so it is clearly planet fitnesses opinion that "Daytona trash" aren't welcome at your Ormond beach location. Of course, all of us "Daytona trash" would be visiting your Daytona location if it hadn't been closed for renovations for weeks on end. I was curious about what those renovations were intended to do for that club but with all the other gyms in the area and your miserably unhappy employee Samantha, who was only too happy to angrily and defiantly tell me her name because? apparently, she can behave like this because this is how planet fitness does things. What happened specifically you may ask? Well, I parked my car in your parking lot, went inside, worked out, took a shower and returned to my car. I was in my car browsing Facebook before I left when she came out of the door quite literally yelling at me through my window, despite the fact that I had had no contact with her throughout the night. She told me I couldn't be in "her parking lot" which it apparently is. I told her, "okay, I have a membership, I'll just come back and check in". Problem solved, yes? Nope, She told me I had already checked in and exited and so I was not allowed to renter the facility. She then proceeds to further her insult by telling me that us "Daytona trash" are not welcome there. Instead of fighting with Samanth- at your ormond beach location working the overnight shift, I just left. I'm sending you this message but this will certainly not be the last place I post this story. I'm positive that as many people as possible should know about how you conduct business and as a professional IT technician, I know how to "get the word out" if nothing else. Don't worry, "Daytona trash" like me and anyone else I reach that is also "trash" won't be troubling your ormond location or any other. There are 8 other gyms in this town alone and I would go to any one but yours at this point. Bye bye. read more

We go to the Westerville/Huber Village location and love it there. We normally go between 10am - 12pm, during the week. It's never too crowded. The staff are friendly and helpful. I love the fresh flowers in the women's bathroom-nice touch. The place is always spotlessly clean. The machines aren't all broken down and worn, most look new. The massage chairs, incline aqua massage bed, and flat aqua massage beds are a dream and have become my new best friends. I hate to exercise and sweat, but, the little extras keep me coming back. Plus, just a little over $20 per month for the Black Card membership is a pretty good deal. read more

The worst PF location I've ever been to, hands down. This place is in serious need of a remodel, not to mention the bathroom situation. This place felt more like a prison then a decent gym. We stayed just long enough to realize there's no locker room to keep our bags (only tiny cubbies next to the machines)and the bathroom was disgusting! Not to get too detailed, but the toilet was so close to the wall I couldn't even use it properly! Wasted 40mins driving here (we like to try new locations) only to turn around and leave read more

Want to catch up on the latest sports news during your workout? Not at this Planet Fitness. Want to get the newest world news updates? Not here. How about internet service? Well, maybe, maybe not. The only reason this place gets a single star is because of the staff. That are super nice. Peer really needs to be more involved. The only reason I go here is because it's so close to my house. I suck it up do my hour and a half workout and leave. Most gyms offer a positive experience. Not here!! read more

I like the gym itself, HOWEVER don't believe the photos the owner has posted, those fancy machines are not there, just regular treadmills and there is a "port" you have to plug wired headphones to listen to the TVs that are on the wall. There are all the awful news stations, Food Network, and sports. Nothing interesting to watch. Just a bunch of fluff and junk. One TV should be a nature show, or something learning. A home improvement even! There are 2 great employees and the rest are useless. Nobody helps you learn a machine, "scan the QR code and watch how to use them on your phone! What if you don't have a smart phone? I never see any employee cleaning equipment, now they make us wipe them down, which is a total waste of resources. They must go through loads of paper towel products which are filling the landfill. So basically the employees just stand behind the counter. In a positive note: there is a great area to stretch in the back. read more

first time coming on here writing a bad review never been one to write reviews about places but with the employees that they have working there i'm coming to tell you this is a horrible gym to go to. I was there with my boyfriend he was told he could not work out with his sandals on after already working out there for two hours, which we had no problem with leaving as we were wiping off the machine to leave. My boyfriend turned to me and said "that lady didn't have to be so rude about it" as she was nowhere close to us she turned around screaming. "What did you say do we have a problem?" then proceeds to say over and over to the other employee at the desk. "CANCEL this HOE" screaming, so the rest of the gym could hear, then proceeded to say that she could " Beat our asses" we then proceeded to still walk out as we got up to the front of the desk more arguing had started, they then proceeded to call the cops over what my boyfriend wearing flip-flops? None of those needed to get out of hand, but it did. Thanks to those unprofessional employees. They have working there. I'll just wait for the part two I have more.... part two!!! i came in the next day bc i didn't understand why they would cancel our membership just for him wearing flip flops???? if anything my membership should've never been taken but they were i wanted to speak with a manager thinking i would get better hospitality but was completely wrong Joelle is the manager and was very rude herself didn't even try to look at it from my side but was already sided with the employee from the incident i then asked why my membership was take and she said because i recorded the incident and they have a no recording policy which makes no since because the employees were recording my bf and i too! when this all happened i started to record bc i felt treated and my life was in danger, i'm trying to now reach the owner of this planet bc at the end of this there was no reason for any of this i have been coming to that gym for over two years always with a smile on my face read more

I've been going to this location for years, and I don't have any particular issue with the facilities, but I am absolutely appalled at the fact that I frequently see another gym member allowed to come in proudly and prominently displaying Nazi tattoos. I truly can't fathom why she hasn't been asked to leave or even cover up (not that covering up her tats would make her any less of a Nazi). I have pointed her out to the staff before, and they insist that they can't do anything about it, but come on. Seriously? read more

I moved over to this gym from Golds for something different. The machines and weight areas are clean and well maintained. Plenty of cardio equipment with TV's to watch up front. The atmosphere is very different to Golds and the commercials are not wrong regarding the type that likes this "judgment free" gym. The commercials mention the price $10 basic and there is a $20 black card if you want tanning, massage chairs and water massage bed. The extra also allows you to bring a guest for free daily. The commercials do not mention the yearly $30 fee added. Still the cheapest place. There are no classes since there is no spin room or aerobics room. read more

I am visiting family in Ormond and went to this PF today. I have zero complaints and just wanted to put out a nice review for this location. The front desk attendant couldn't be any nicer. Good size. Nice staff. Equipment works well. The location is always pretty busy, I think. A lot of retirees here. Parking is a little bit of an issue because they often run out. I am a nomad car traveler and have a Black card for my hygiene purposes. I am speaking only about the Women's Locker Room facilities. I have never seen a crazier and nastier facility. First of all Women's Locker is up a narrow staircase so if you are in any way constrained or disabled don't count on it!! There are 2 small nasty showers and 2 small nasty restrooms. No changing rooms. Obviously not a handicapped facility. I walked right out!! No way was I showering there. LET THE BUYER BEWARE!!! I had been going to the Planet Fitness Ormond Beach location where Kevin is supposedly the owner for a few years. I signed up for the $10 a month membership and was told they would only use my bank account number to pull the fees directly. They took the fees for a number of years before Sept 2021 when I went in and cancelled my membership to go on the Sliver Sneakers program which would be covered as part of my AARP United Healthcare plan. Things seemed to be fine until recently. In June 2022 I noticed that they were drawing money from my bank account again beginning in March 2022 seven months after my original membership was cancelled. From March 2022 to June 2022 the unauthorized billings totaled about $150. When I questioned it, they said that I had signed up electronically for the Black Card program. This is where it really becomes concerning.... I had a free membership that was being paid by my insurance. I had no knowledge of ever accessing or signing up to anything electronically. Yet money was being automatically withdrawn from my bank account. When I asked how this could happen, they told me that a third party stores the banking information and does the billing for them. I CANCELLED MY MEMBERSHIP IN SEPT 2022 YET THEY NEVER REMOVED MY BANKING INFORMATION FROM THEIR FILES! Very scary to think that someone can take your information without authorization and just start using it again. When I questioned this, the management said that they have an esigned document and there was no possibility for a refund. After numerous attempts to resolve the issue with the managers they said the owner Kevin would call me. He never did and I WAS TOLD HE NEVER WOULD because of the contract they had in their possession that I have no idea how they got. The only thing I can think of is that I had the Planet Fitness App on my phone. Is it possible that I butt-dialed the App and it automatically signs you up for the most expensive program they offer? They then use your bank account number which they never deleted from a third-party database after cancellation to literally steal money from your bank account directly? Wow! They haven't heard the last from me yet. If what I suspect happened, happened, it could be interpreted as an unscrupulous business practice. If it happened to me, and I pay close attention to my bank stuff, how many others are having unauthorized charges taken out. I'm a senior and it may be a senior abuse tactic to generate income from otherwise unaware elderly folks that just want to try to stay in shape. read more

The staff are nice. I can't believe the harsh reviews, considering the price you pay to use the facility. Yes, the gym I worked at was so much better, but it cost $65 per month! Pros: enough types of equipment to get a good workout. There are no Olympic weights, but refer to my comments on cost, setting aside the safety issues. Cons: people sitting on weight equipment for over ten minutes between sets, especially when there are no other similar machines. Staff do not move about the facility to check on people working out. Please, put up a gym etiquette sign! Watch for slackers napping on the weight machines. It's time for an expansion and a few more machines. read more

This is an older location so if busy, expect to wait for machines and floor space. Also, the Black Card area is not very private. The desk staff was nice. BUT I'm giving this a lower rating than normal because the water fountain provided pumps out very warm water. I asked for an alternative or some ice, and I was told to go to McDonald's next door. I'm a Black Card member, and this is Florida. You need to provide COLD water for people working out. read more

I do not know why, but the folks at the front desk always have such an attitude here. I am a black card member. I can go to any planet fitness and I frequent several. So I'll start this review off on a negative to get that out of the way... I hate planet fitness. I hate that they say they don't judge people but then make fun of bodybuilders and powerlidters. Just a moral thing. I could rant forever. My boyfriend has a membership because where we live in NY, that's the only 24 hour gym and he needs it. HOWEVER. This specific Planet Fitness is great. Everytime I come it's like they've got all my info memorized and everytime I ask a question they have 50 questions for me about why I'm here. And I've never had that at any other location. Visited this location while on vacation. It is very cramped with the machines way too close together. It was understaffed for the amount of people that use the facility. This place is a dump, I don't think its been cleaned since the 20th century, I got to PF's in a lot of places and they are spotless, not this one. I think the owner or manager is very disrespectful. Always parking in the very front spot regardless of the fact that most of the this gyms community is 55+. I've been going to this Planet Fitness location for the past few months (I usually go to the Daytona one). This Planet Fitness is absolutely horrible, the staff are some of the most disrespectful people I have ever met, and the management seems to not care about there rude staff. Last night when working out I was harassed by a Kelley, she approached me and informed to me that my membership was canceled. I told Kelley that I canceled my membership right after I paid for it and my membership was good until the 17th of this month. She brought me to the front desk were I spoke with Nick. Nick began to insist that my membership was canceled and I would not be able to work out. He then told me to go to the Daytona Planet Fitness and figure out whats wrong with my membership, as soon as I left I gave the gym a negative rating (They have a thing by the exit door were you can rate the gym) this made Nick angry and he began to tell me not to come back. I went to the Daytona Planet Fitness and they told me my membership was still active, as soon as I heard that I went back to the one in Ormond and as soon as I walked in the door, Kelley walked to the phone and began to call the police. I then left and decide to speak to management in the morning, I spoke to the manager and began to explain her employees rude behavior. She seemed to not care and even decide to defend there actions. I was appalled and then requested to speak to the franchise owner. As soon as I spoke with the franchise owner I began to understand that the staff were really close to each other and he was already informed about the incident, he began to be very hostile and informed me that I was trespassed from this location and I would not be able to work out here anymore (I wasn't even informed by the manager I was trespassed). I wouldn't recommend anyone to workout here, not just because of the unprofessional, shady staff, the equipment is terrible and I actually had a sit-up machine break on me and the gym is poorly maintained there is a lot of dust and the equipment seems to not be clean. AVOID THESE SCAMMERS!!!! My gf and I moved away after being on a month to month plan. I called to cancel our plans and they said I either need to cancel in person or by certified mail which is ridiculous. I got them to let me cancel by email, and they verified the email address twice over the phone. After sending my cancellation email, I noticed for three months they still billed me after promising it was fine. I spoke with the manager and she was extremely rude about it and said that even though they gave me the wrong email address, that I could no longer cancel through email as I was promised I could and that there was no way to get back the $45 they'd basically stolen from me over the past 3 months.
