TESTIMONIAL REVIEW FOR THE HIT FIT GYM IN APOPKA…read more So, I saw a post on Facebook saying they were looking for 20 people to join a weight loss challenge at this gym in Apopka, FL called the HIT FIT GYM. I looked into what this gym was all about and thought to myself that I really don't know if I can even do those exercises, as I weighed at the time 290 lbs. So, yes, I am morbidly obese, as the doctors call me. Therefore, I was very skeptical about the HIT FIT GYM and my capabilities in actually being able to do the full challenge. I am very happy that I did not listen to my head or gut and went against everything I have ever known and step into an uncomfortable area in my life, that being the HIT FIT GYM. I had, what they call, gym anxiety before I walked into that door; I mean, what 290 lb. woman wouldn't, right? Well, after my consultation, that all went away pretty much. I met Nicole, the owner, who is very sweet and explained everything perfectly; she made me feel so welcomed. Then, I met one of the trainers, Sabrina, a little ball of "excited to make you sweat" fire; she is awesome! I explained that I have a really bad knee and can't really do lunges, jumping or running without it making my knee hurt even worse than it already does, and that I have had surgery on it and it just made it worse, rather than better. She was, and still is, amazing in giving me modifications on the exercises that have things I can't do just yet because of my weight vs. my knee. Now, in time when I lose more weight, I will be able to do all the exercises as they are shown on the videos. Sabrina is also very good at pushing you to keep going and motivated. Also, this gym is like family; if you can go at the same time every day, you will pretty much see the same faces, and the best thing is we make each other feel good by encouraging one another to keep going and not give up. That is another thing I love about this gym. One lady had asked me how much I had lost in my first month of being there, and I told her I had lost 10 pounds and she smiled at me and said I could tell, you are looking good and doing great, keep it up! That really made me feel good. So, if you are unsure about being a bigger person and doing the HIIT workouts, don't be; Sabrina and all the other trainers are there to help you, and if there is something you can't physically do, they will give you an exercise that you can do. You never have to worry about being embarrassed about not being able to do this or that exercise because you will be doing some sort of an exercise, and that is all that really matters. This gym keeps you moving and burning the calories and building your endurance. When I first started, I couldn't finish all 10 zones the first couple of times I went and I thought for sure that I was going to pass out; but now, only 2 short months later, I am finishing all 10 zones and then I do some more zones. I am burning over 400 to 500 calories per workout, depending on how I am feeling that day. I have gone from a size 24 to a size 18 in jeans and went from 290-lbs to 276-lbs. Yes, I have only lost 14-lbs, but hey I will take that. I always look at the non-scale victories in which I went down 4 sizes in my jeans, my cardio endurance has gotten way better and my bloodwork; well let's just say my doctor just about fell out of her chair when she saw it. What else is there to say other than its PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION! And it's all thanks to THE HIT FIT GYM. By Jean Jonas 11/14/19 member since 09/11/19

This has been the best gym I've ever been to. I'm a very busy mom. I'm able to go right after work…read morewith my kids and be done within 35 minutes! The workout is intense, but there is always a trainer there to help and push you. Everyone is so kind and will get down on the floor with you and encourage you to keep going! I have shoulder problems and the trainers have been awesome helping me find alternate workouts for some of the ones I know will affect my shoulder. If you haven't been, GO!

Can you think of a place that leaves you feeling better than when you first walked in? It's here!!…read moreTheir commitment to your success shows through their dynamic workouts and coaching. Each workout is challenging but doable because the coaching team is able to customize anything to meet your needs. I often look at the workout of the day and think, "DANG! I can't do that" ...but somehow they get me there. It may involve adjusting the volume, the movement or just giving me the support I need to push though the workout. Five stars isn't enough, I love this place!

How does one leave an honest review when 5 stars just isn't enough? Modern Human CrossFit (MHC) has…read morebeen a constant during my time in Daytona Beach. Trust me, I know how cliché it is for people to claim they have found a chosen family at gyms. As an introvert myself, I get it. Go try out a class at MHC and you'll agree. The coaches truly meet you where you are in terms of your fitness, with the intention of making you a better and stronger human (regardless of your experience, age, or abilities). They've stuck by me through a job loss, multiple health concerns I encountered outside the gym, and many more life events. The members that go here are some of the nicest, most respectful, and supportive people you'll meet. If not for better fitness and health, stick around for the people. You'll end up making life long friends, with the extra benefit of walking out of there in better shape than you came in. You've read this whole review, now go say hi to some of my friends!!!
