Absolutely the worst place to buy a spa or pool. They have high school kids working and running the customer service. Bought a 10K spa, it broke, they won't return calls so I went in there and they said "Ok will have a tech review the matter within a few weeks" Then told me I have to fix it myself (with caulking!) or reach out directly to the tub maker and straighten out the warranty. You have been warned! Do NOT buy anything from here. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Like others who have posted, I had a maddening experience in 2022 trying to get our spa serviced. We had leaks that we never could get fixed. After finally getting someone out to diagnose repairs, and first trying the standard fixes (which didn't do the trick), we were told we needed some expensive part and the tub would need to be lifted out of the deck to inspect the bottom. We asked how much this would be. They estimated $3k, which we reluctantly agreed to since a new one would cost about $15k, and the spa wasn't old. They were supposed to order a part and get back to us. In the end they would not return calls so, after several months of these attempts by phone, I had to go in person. After some fumbling around and dismissive service, someone at the desk put me on the phone with a guy who essentially said "we decided this wasn't cost-effective for us." Really?? And when was I going to be told? Sheesh. My recommendation--don't buy from a place that can't/won't service your expensive spa. read more

Let me start off by saying, pools are not cost efficient things by any means are essentially money pits in the ground, so judging any place based on prices is a joke. You're only kidding your self. To my review, we have been long long time customers of Aqua Jet and we're devastated when they closed their highland office. We made the mistake of going to the the competition that took over the office in highland and we're MAJORLY disappointed. Long story short, they told me that too much chlorine is actually good for the algae to grow and that I need to drain half my pool and refill it. (My pool is 20x40 and 22,000 gallons.) I laughed and said that's not happening and went back to Aqua Jet up in Kingston. Back in the safe haven of aqua jet I had lots of questions, concerns and felt relieved to get answers I trust as well as poll water testing that is trust worthy. I also had 30 year old pool valves, a crappy old filter and a brand new heat pump. They recommended that best route to go to get everything back up and running efficiently and cost. I asked how soon they could do the work and initially she said they are booked till July, but quickly found a date for a week later and I grabbed it immediately and purchased all new pump filter and components. Today they came, 3 super nice, knowledgeable guys and they worked for a few hours repiping everything, installing heat pump and making it looks beautiful. I can't thank them enough and aqua jet and I will forever be a customer, even if it means driving to Kingston from New Paltz to get water testing and pool products. Thank you Aqua Jet. read more

Terrible. Opening a pool to them means taking the cover off and leaving it in a corner. Leaving pieces and parts and hoses strewn all over the place between pool and pump house and leaving all the leaves in the bottom of pool. Apparently you have to pay extra to have them clean up after themselves. $425.00 an hour is expensive for this level of service. read more

Being new to the area I quickly became a loyal customer of Aqua jet pools I purchased all of my pool supplies and back yard furniture I was in need of a new pool cover and purchased it from them They installed it and mid winter it began to rip. When I told aqua jet about it they told me not to worry Well it has been over 3 months and they still refuse to refund my money. Ever since I got back from vacation - end of August, I've been going here over and over again to fix my green pool. Like another reviewer said - I've spent $100's of dollars and absolutely no change whatsoever. Pump is working fine. The guy behind the counter sold me $50 of crap the other day, including expensive algaecide - which is basically useless once there's already algae in the pool. Literally, no change. Their shock is a joke, algaecide useless, and don't even get me started on their hardener and clarifier ...total junk. I was suckered by googling and seeing the 5 stars from Google reviews - just one, and didn't realize that til I went digging today. Of course, after getting supposably the strongest chlorine which he said would work within an hour. Nothing. Was hoping to squeeze in some pool time over the next 3 days - before October weather hits, but blew my budget on Aqua Jet's junk. This is my second summer in New Paltz and didn't know where to go. Last summer, before I had a car, I took a taxi to a store run by 2 women I think. It was by itself, with no nearby buildings (if I remember correctly). For life of me, can't remember where it is or what they gave me - but it worked. Wish I could find them again... Warning to all - AVOID AQUA JET POOLS, SPAS & PATIO FURNITURE IN HIGHLAND NY. I have been an Aqua Jet customer for several years now. They installed an in-ground pool at my New Paltz house in June 2009, in what I consider record time (I was swimming in my new pool just 7 days after marking the outline in dirt!) It was a steel wall & vinyl liner pool, 8 feet at the deep end, Venetian style. After the success with the pool, I bought a Hot Springs Vista tub from Aqua Jet that October, and also a Loop-Loc mesh cover for the pool. AJP installed the bolt sleeves in my pavers around the pool deck for me too so I didn't have to drill through the bricks myself. Hot tub was an awesome investment...they even gave me a VIP discount card because I got both the pool and spa from them. Debbi also talked me into buying an electric pool heater the following year...smartest pool decision so far. Easily doubled my swimming season for just a couple bucks more. Aqua Jet does my closings and openings, and I usually try to be the first one open and last one closed. It is now 5 years since the first install and no issues at all. Great customer service, friendly staff, the service techs are lightning-fast and no nonsense. Guy and Andy are a trip to watch...they are like poetry in motion when they have a big job to get done. Debbi called in a warranty service on my heater and the tech showed up the NEXT DAY. Every time I show up with a water sample or a scary-looking photo of algae on my cell phone, any of the reps are quick to help and uber friendly to me. If you like being oversold a bunch of overpriced garbage, this is your place. The mark-ups are incredible and sales-women pushy. Don't bother coming back here when the junk breaks in record time. You will be met with no justice. This is far from a local place that builds good will with its long term clients. After many years as a loyal customer I am done with them. They're rude, unprofessional and the service has gone down hill. I don't know what happened, they used to be great, but at this point they are the worst. They did a lousy job of closing my pool last year. This year we had them repair our filter. I tend to try and support local business but from now on I'm afraid I'll be ordering pool supplies online. Terrible customer support and way over priced. The manager on duty was rude and dismissive, clearly more interested in selling to new customers than taking care of old ones. I bought a sump pump on the (ill) advice of a sales person that is totally under powered for the job. Tried to return it but was told "we need to call the company" which in plain language means " too bad, we've got your money so too bad for you buddy". After 12 years and thousands of dollars spent here it's too bad this place can't try a little harder to take care of their customers. They could try bending the rules now and then. Horrible experience! I am a contractor and I bought pool cover anchors to repair a homeowner's pool. Not knowing how many the owner needed, I bought a few extra, just in case. I came back two days later to return the unused anchors, and I was told "no returns on credit card purchases, store credit only". I said " It was a debit card". She said "It was run as a credit card". I was never given a choice in the matter, I simply handed the guy my card, and he handed me a receipt. I explained that I was not asking for cash back, just a refund to the card. When I said that is an absurd policy, since probably 90% of ALL purchases are made with cards these days, she then started in with the B.S. "Its says no returns right on your receipt" --but I was given the receipt AFTER the purchase was made. I told her that the store credit is worthless to me as I dont even have a pool, I bought the items for my customer....she told me to charge my customer and give them the gift card!!! So I have to pass on the cost of your unfair policy to MY CUSTOMER, and charge him for something he didnt get? Umm.....no. Then she said how she gave me a great price on the items and that they were "supposed to be $10 more each"....total BS as the guy down the street has them for the same price (I called them the same day I called aqua jet), and online (I was trying to support local business rather than order online). Also I never tried to haggle price or anything, she told me the price and that's what I paid. Its a pretty good scam they have going there: They run all card purchases as credit, without asking if you want it as debit. Since everyone purchases with cards, there is effectively a no returns policy. I had been there before buying Items for customers of mine, but never again. I hope that my $48 is worth the loss of a customer. read more

Aqua Jet is a local, family run pool store, that will do everything they can to help fix any problems that you have. When I first went there my pool water was green and I was looking for a quick fix, was sold chemicals, and followed their instructions. When the water didn't clear at first I was agitated and returned to the store to find out what had gone wrong and what I'd spent my money on. The staff there was even kinder and more patient with my questions the second time than the first time, and took the time to explain everything to me in detail, describe to me that it takes time to clear a pool up, and explained to my how my water may have come to be the green color it was. Later on when I needed a service call from them, I was initially agitated again that I was looking at a two week minimum for when someone could get out to me, and went into the store to see if I could get anywhere there. When the staff behind the counter showed me their scheduling book I was floored, as the staff was handling more than 20 service calls that day, in addition to the packed store front. When someone finally did get out to me, Andy took the time while he was working to explain what was going wrong, and how he'd fixed it, and since then there hasn't been a single problem. There are some dissatisfied reviews written on YELP about Aqua Jet, but this company has never let me down, the staff in store especially is exceptional and will do their best to help you with any issue, and works tirelessly to make sure that they address your questions and issues as quickly as possible. Purchased bran new hot springs hot tub from aqua jet pools and spas,had an issue with defective jet air valve,they sent so called technicians three times to look at tub,the techs siad thers nothing wrong,I contacted hot spring copany in California and sent video of problem,there technicians siad nothing wrong I had islander pools and spa in albany come look,they changed the air valve and wella,fixed.I ,from bad experience recommend that you do not patronize aqua jetpools and spas in kingston ny they are extremely rude and do not stand behind what they sell read more

Months before the pool season began I went into Aqua Jet in Kingston to see about scheduling my pool opening and weekly cleaning. They seemed helpful and so I hired them to take care of my pool this season. I filled out the paperwork and left them with my credit card to charge as service was completed. They opened the pool no problem, they did a great job with that. I was then away for two weeks and when I returned I found they had not returned?! I tried calling and after 7 busy signal calls they finally answered to say they had no idea who I was?! Then they told me I didn't fill out the release form for them to clean it and that they would email it to me, which they never did. I went into the store itself so that I could fill out the form, and they said the service guy himself would call me to set up an appointment, he never did. After many phone calls and many more busy signals, I got a woman who said, did you fill out the release? A common goto for them as they evidently never do that properly. I was having a large birthday pool party and after cleaning the pool myself it still needed to be shocked and professionally cleaned. They told me, Ike would "try to squeeze me in" this is almost a month after I signed up for service. They just kept telling me how busy they were. The answer to these problems is either take less clients or hire more people, at least hire someone to answer the phone and call you back! Not only was Aqua Jet Kingston the worst pool company I've ever used, they were completely incompetent! Run don't walk away from this disaster of an outfit, when they're too busy to answer the phone, what they mean is they are to busy to help you! Avoid at all costs! THE WORST! read more
