It's been about two years since we last came to apricot stone and learned that they had relocated and had made some minor adjustments to the menu from which we were fond of Tonight's experience was OK not really exciting as I recall in the past; I will note the increase in prices. The meal for two was $66 now $100. Yet when we were all set and done, our bill was just over $100. I probably should've listened to my wife and order that instead. We started off with the Manti dumplings and broth, unfortunately, they were overcooked, dry and some had burnt skin. but when we pointed it out, the server didn't see anything wrong with it, maybe that's common for them, but that's not how we normally experience Manti at other restaurants Next, I had the chard octopus it wasn't charred. It's a nearly room temperature plate. I love octopus so for me it worked, but it wasn't what maybe I recalled. Then we shared a lamb kebab plate and added a chicken Shawarma skewer, lamb was tough, overcooked. Overall the meal missed delivering that wow factor. No more for us. Many other places to try.
If you haven't been to Apricot Stone in Northern Liberties yet... you are seriously missing out Hands down the best Armenian food in Philly. Ara, the owner, is the friendliest guy ever, and his mom -- who's been a professional chef since 1991 -- is also in the kitchen. They've been running Apricot Stone for about nine and a half years now, and it truly feels like a family-run gem. My bestie and I went for their $100 Date Night Menu (BYOB & such a good deal), and honestly it felt like we were back at Armenian sleepaway camp. The flavors were so authentic. Just like something our grandmothers would have made and every bite brought back memories. The spread was incredible: apps, entrees, sides... everything was to die for and the portions were so generous. A few of my go-to favorites are the manti, shrimp saganaki, and lamajun. All perfectly made. For the $100 dinner for 2, we got the dip trio (our faves: red pepper feta, tabouleh & lebni), stuffed grape leaves, cheese boreg, spanakopita, and falafel. For mains, the dinner also comes with an entree-sized salad; we chose the Fattoush salad (so fun, it comes with a little mallet to crack the pita shell!) plus the lamb skewer and luleh skewer, both cooked to perfection. And of course, dessert was the cherry on top: their decadent house-made Dubai chocolate (to die for). I also highly recommend my absolute favorite, the Khataif. They're also open for lunch and have a private party space upstairs. Apricot Stone is one of those rare restaurants that feels like home while also being one of the most delicious meals you'll ever have in the city. Can't recommend it enough!

Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and helped guided my 2 other friends and I through the menu. We ended up doing one of their specials where we get an assortment of items from the jump and we got more than enough food for us to split. All of their dips are incredibly fresh, their desserts were nuts.
Was able to stop in here and had an excellent meal. There are two floors here and outside seating, with the upstairs having an open deck too. Hostess will seat you and bring water, and it is also BYOB. Menu had many middle eastern options with dips / sides and entrees. The platters come with choice of two dips for pita so you can try them with your meal. Muhammara was very tasty - good paprika taste and a little sweet with walnuts. Hummus also creamy and tasty. The buttered rice they serve is also so tender and savory. Chicken shawarma also juicy and spiced perfectly. Portion plate is huge so it's a lot of food for dinner. Great spot thanks.
Apricot Stone has a cozy vibe and is a good place for some local Armenian! Our waiter was new but he's been to the restaurant a ton of times and gave great recommendations. The kebab and schwarma platters were delicious and their bread was my girlfriend's favorite part! She still brings it up often when thinking of Mediterranean to eat.
Visited this place with people from work and it was amazing! My boss placed the reservation, which we had to switch dates and they were super nice about it. We came in and had a table on the upper floor which was nice as it felt super private. Since we had a larger group we did a pre-fixed menu where we each selected our entrees but all the rest just came as a part of the menu. The food was DELICIOUS. Everything I tried was very yummy. I had lots of favorites but what I liked the most was the cheese spanakopita and the dips. Would gladly visit again with friends.
Great somewhat of a hole in the wall Mediterranean restaurant. Food is solid. We sat at their outdoor seating, which is pet-friendly and great for a small group. Indoor has a quaint sitting space and great for a date. I had their kebab platter and it was delicious. They also have family dinners you can get if you prefer a bunch of food. This place is BYOB so remember to bring your booze. Service was OK; great server who was super nice, but didn't check on us enough and there were couple of times we were wondering where she was. There should be parking around and not a huge issue.
Excellent quality of food, helpful and knowledgeable service, stunning atmosphere and overall high value for the price. BYOB is very convenient as there is a wine store a few blocks away on girard. I'll definitely be back.

For some great middle eastern North African Mediterranean food- not AS price hiked inflation as everywhere else and for a really great meal. Cute lil date place if you want to sit on the patio. They have it heated and enclosed in winter or just stay inside the restaurant walls itself too. I remember people used to say that the owners grandma or mom cooked or created the menu and oversaw everything. That was a long time ago. But the food since I remember going is still good quality bi enjoyed it very much. My Moroccan man was very content with the whole meal. Although some prices were pricier than it could have been but eh I wanted to explore the menu and we were hungry. I loved the desserts. Tried em all and took some home
Pretty decent restaurant in the north of Philly with a BYOB option. The dips were very fresh and the lentil burger side is a must to try at Apricot stone. The salad was pretty meh but the falafel is a must try. The service was very prompt and the waiter's suggestions were pretty good. PS: Parking at this place is very difficult so please ensure that you have a booked spot before you drive here!

A true home away from home. I felt like I was in my medzmama's kitchen! The owner was incredibly kind. The food was SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!! Finger licking good. A small Armenian restaurant near Northern Liberties. I had a lunch there recently. I was the only customer when I had my meal lol. So the dishes came out quickly, but the vibe was too boring for me... For food, I tried the Lahmajoun, kibbeh and grilled vegetables. Compared to Turkish Lahmacun, their's were smaller (about 8inch per piece) and thicker, while the toppings (meat+bell pepper+onions) were similar. It was my first time to try kibbeh. It was basically bulgur "dough" stuffed with ground meat/onions/bulgur/veg. made into an oval shape and fried. The bulgur "dough" tasted more loose than flour dough. The grilled vegetables had tons of bell peppers, potatoes, zucchini and eggplant. However, they were all burnt heavily. read more
Came on Valentine's Day and was escorted upstairs into a small section where all couples were sat - a bit crowded and overwhelming with the loud music on top of the conversations. Was excited to try the Manti, after seeing it in all the reviews - very small dumplings with a meaty filling that is paired with a tangy yogurt sauce. But the real star was the Filet Mignon Steak Kebab - the pieces at the bottom of the kebab were more cooked but still tender, but the top pieces were perfectly cooked medium well. We got complimentary Dubai chocolates at the end of our dinner which was a nice touch. BYOB with no corkage fee! read more

A great way to celebrate Friendsgiving with delicious food. The place is small and quaint, it has an indoor and heated outdoor seatings. This place is BYOB so that's definitely a plus. Their plates are small and shareable. Love the prices since all of them are reasonable. My friends and i truly loved all of the food we ordered! Except, the chips. We preferred eating the side dishes with a warm naan bread. Our server was kind and the food came on the slower end imo, but we don't mind waiting for great food! Will def be back. read more

My son and his partner took me here for dinner last night. The food was just AMAZING. We got a full course with kebabs included. EVERYTHING was delicious. The dips. The appetizer. The salad. We had lamb, shawarma and Luleh. It was all so darned good. Baklava was excellent. Atmosphere was lovely. We were on the second level. Service was excellent. Finally went to try this place after several friends recommended it. Reservations were easy to get, we were outdoors in a well heated patio setting. Service was super friendly. Parking situation was very hard. Mostly street parking that we saw and not much available. Uber/Lyft or carpool if you can. Now on to the food! I love Mediterranean food and was excited to try this place. My favorite entree was the manti. The skewers were ok, lamb was gamey and beef was dry. The sides we got were good. Falafel was also ok. The desserts I really liked though. The Khaitaif was sweeter than the baklava and I would have probably really enjoyed it with a strong coffee. Some fellow yelpers recommended going with a larger group so that more dishes could be shared. With just 2 of us for dinner, it was hard so would try with a larger group next time. read more

I had never heard of this restaurant before. My friend mentioned it so we made reservations for a Friday night. The day before they announced that Northern Liberties restaurant week was starting the next day-the Friday we had reservations for! Found parking a few blocks away so that was good! We were seating at the middle table of the indoor dining area. It was a tight squeeze as it's not a big room. Lives that they had small lamps on the tables! Just the right amount of light to see the menu without someone turning their flashlight on on their phone! We both decided to go with the restaurant week menu. Out of the tons of food I got to try (and I do not remember all of the names of things) I wasn't crazy about the falafel or the grape leaves. But it's ok because everything else was great! read more

As other reviewers mentioned, the takeout is very different from the in-person experience. Definitely go in-person unless you want to drop around $35+ per entrée with super small portions. The rice also tasted like boxed instant rice. read more
In celebrating my recent work promotion and Fat Tuesday, we went the non traditional route to celebrate. I've been craving Mediterranean food and saw the great ratings of Apricot Stone so we decided to order a feast to accompany our celebratory beverages. As I understand this is a BYOB so it would have been a great location to dine in and celebrate as well. I ordered the chicken Shawarma that came with rice pilaf, pita, and 2 dip options (I selected Lebni & Jajukh). I thought my dish was good, the rice and chicken were average but what stood out to me the most were the dips. They were delicious! I also had a taste of two other dips and 4/4 were great! All in all a good meal but looking forward to dining in to have the experience others rave about. read more

I've only dined with Apricot Stone two or three times, however, each occasion was noteworthy and highly enjoyable. My most recent trip for a psuedo-birthday dinner for myself with a handful of friends. We sampled nearly every item on the menu. I loved the Tabouleh and the Falafel. While we enjoyed the Manti, I was expecting just a bit more. Portions, quality, and prices are nicely aligned for all the menu items. The staff is very friendly. And don't forget, they are BYOB! Final Pro Tip: Visit this place with at least a party of four to fully sample, share, and explore the menu! read more

Do you offer any vegan desserts?
We do not for dinner service. If you would like to order for catering we can make our tahini baklava or anoush abur vegan desserts amongst others.
Is the baklava vegan?
The classic baklava is not. We do have a tahini baklava on our menu that is vegan. However we are not currently offering it.
