I spoke to the owner to fix a washer and the policy is to put $300 up front no matter what is wrong with your appliance then if they can't fix it will put your $300 toward one of their appliances they want to sell you. I own my own property management business 14 years. I know I can get used for $250 and a repair for less than that with my own service providers, tried and true. Then the owner wanted me to put the check in his name because I might give him a bogus check! In my experience if someone does not trust you right off the bat when you have been in business for decades with excellent reputation....it is because they cannot be trusted. When I asked why to put the check in his name and not his company he got huffy real fast and his co worker had to chime in with no good customer service at that point. Don't buy from here! Their "warranty" is a joke. Appliances are over priced and their financing is not presented as it truly is. They took advantage of my disabled, elderly friend. Her appliance quit working 60 days after she bought it. She called them, was told she needs to call their warranty to make a claim. But wait, she NEVER completed the warranty requirement within 30 days of purchase that was sent to her via email. Sorry but it's not covered. She had to buy a new refrigerator somewhere else! After leaving a voicemail requesting her $ back they then wanted to send a repairman for $99 (cost per warranty) to fix the refrigerator....a week after the initial call. For starters, you could reimburse the difference in price of a damaged product that was returned on (the same day). Just visited the place and not impressed. They only sell used crap the people likely pay them to haul off. When we got there the sales guy jumped on us like he was a used car salesman. First he showed us a freezer that "needed to be cleaned still". It looks like something died in it. We then started talking about the costs which were very near the cost for a new freezer. He went on to tell us how the older stuff has more value and that even the new units from other stores could die after a week and it's just the luck of the draw. Appliances Plus More is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. We paid Nathan Hale $12,000 for washes and dryers that were suppose to be refurbished and in good working order. What we got were 30-40 year old machines that didn't work. He was suppose to provide maintenance for the machines. He never returned calls and didn't provide any maintenance. We had our clothes Washer go out and rather than replace just the washer, we decided to see if we could just get a refurbished set (Washer & Dryer) so that they would still match. My wife went into a few places to see what was available, she finally came across a set from "Appliances Plus More" that she liked and we purchased it same day beings they could deliver that same evening. The guys came out and installed it fairly quick and hauled the old washer away as well as gave us $97 for the working dryer (I know I could have sold for more, but it was just easier); we paid $1,200.00 out the door. It came with a 30 day warranty and of course 3 weeks in, we noticed our Master Bedroom walk-in closet had super wet carpet and padding all of a sudden, we've lived here for almost 2 years and never had that occur. So we started trying to figure out if there was leak in the wall or what...come to find out a part inside the washer internals was spewing water all down the back of washer and soaking under the based boards slowly enough to not flood the laundry room (which is tile), but yet warped all our baseboards and did a bunch of water damage to the wall and carpet as well as a few of out items in the closet at the time. We called to let them know we had an issue and they said it's probably the hose connections, and told us we needed to pull it out and check all the fittings, because they wouldn't come out if it was not a problem with the washer itself (Keep in mind they were the ones that installed everything and removed the old ones, so even a loose hose should have been on them); but my wife and I pulled out the washer & dryer to look and sure enough it was in the washer not a hose connection on the outside. We called back and scheduled an appointment for warranty service. We were told we had to have our receipt to prove it was under 30 days (why wouldn't they have that info???...unless it is a scam-y way of getting out of their warranty for those of us that might have lost it in the last month since purchase). Luckily we did still have our receipt being my wife is organized. After a few days of trying to get them to come out (one time we had to reschedule), they came out about 6 days after washer failed (no clean clothes..) they showed up and found the issue right away (a part inside the washer failed and was spurting water all over). They said they had the part and replaced it, while finishing up my wife asked the owner (I am pretty sure), what they were going to be able to do about the damage it caused to our house and he said "oh, yeah we don't do that - it's like an 'Act of God' thing, not our responsibility". We are super disappointed with this response, because it was their "failed" appliance that caused the damage, not an Earthquake!!! In any industry if you provide a product that then damages or injures someone or someone's property with regular use and especially within a 30 day warranty period, you are liable for the damages...how is this not their fault??!!!! I will be asking my Home Owners insurance to sue them for at least our deductible to be paid by them, even tho it will still go on my insurance and likely result in higher rates later. If my Insurance company is unable to pursue it; then my next step will be small claims court, because this is ridiculous behavior in my opinion. Sad thing is had they showed more compassion and offered to send a guy of their choosing to do the work, I would have been fine with it, even if it was not a professional construction company, (may have costed them a few hundred dollars), but now I will be suing for the highest bid I can find as well as ask for any damages we can claim (stress, mental anguish, etc). They Lie. They sell crappy repairs. We bought a front load washer for almost $500. It lasted only 3 weeks and they did not honor their own 30 day guarantee. They are completely unorganized and will never callback or show for the appointments that they set up. They promised me that they would swap out a washer for me for one that works to make me happy, but that was 2 weeks ago. If you want to waste your money with a lying con job place who sells bogus appliances, go there. If you want to get the run around for 7 weeks, go here. We have a cabin in Lewiston Ca. Walked in on Tuesday and refrigerator had died and everything was spoiled not to mention stench. Went to Redding, Home Depot had one refrigerator that they could deliver in 2 days but wouldn't cart off old one. It weighs 200 lbs. and I'm in my 70's with a prior heart attack. Left there and went to Lowes. Nothing in stock and would take 7-10 days for delivery. Went to Appliances Plus More 10 miles down freeway. Great folks who had a wide selection. Saved $500 from Big Box Stores. Great guy said he would deliver it that night. He showed up at 9:30 pm with his son. Unbelievable service! This place is terrible! I bought a washer and dryer here and within a month the washer broke. A few months later the dryer broke and I had to call five separate times just to talk to him about it. He told me that it was a used dryer and wouldn't fix it. I was impressed the first day when Nathan stated that he would fix anything and that it came with an unlimited warranty, but now that it is broken and not working I realize that all of those promises were just talk. I sold the dryer for $50 and bought a new one at Home Depot. They buy old washers/dryers and do quick fixes and sell them at high prices. Save your money and buy a new appliance elsewhere! He sold me the washer/dryer set for $750 for an older set. After now looking around at Home Depot I realize that I could have bought the ---brand new--- set for $800-$900 and it would have come with an actual warranty and not broken within several months of use.
