Perfect little hometown, family run business. I hope the community supports this business. It is a sweet find. And ladies...just a heads up. They treat you like a lady, no talking down to the gals. These guys are true gentlemen. And not too hard to look at either :) Seriously, most hardware/tool places don't cater to women well. Boltz is the exception. Ok...now on to the garden center. Healthiest plants ever seen...oh and did I mention...OLD FASHIONED CANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Might be worth the plane ticket to visit again.

Dear people of Martinsburg and surrounding areas,…read more You should support your local businesses before all that's left in martinsburg is just tattoo shops, homeless shelters, and a Chinese restaurant. With spring upon us I thought it time I should make mention of Boltz. First Boltz is everything Home Depot isn't by that I mean there are Human Beings employed here interested in assisting you in your endeavors. Secondarily they have a really nice selection of Tomato plants in the spring. If you buy bird seed or grass seed for your lawn somewhere else your wasting your money. Just a random list of things they carry: onion sets, seed potatoes, seed by the Oz. I got enough Arugula seeds for the entire year for a fraction of those stupid seed packets at Blowes (Lowes). There is a small selection of hardware and tools along with candy and lots of WVU knick-knackery. So the next time you have the urge too explore your inner-hipster and grow some cucumbers and then make some pickles go too Boltz before it's to late.

But, I'm kind of glad it took three calls before I reached someone at B&B Appliance Repair. It wasn't an emergency, but had it been, they would have been out there the next morning. Instead, the owner coordinated with my tenant, and the stove was fixed in a timely manner. The bill was sent via text to me which allowed me to stay home and tend to other matters instead of driving 60 miles to Winchester. I own a duplex which means I have double the number of appliances. I know who to call next time one needs repairing. And I'll bet anything, I'll have to call just one time.

I used to have a green thumb, however it's been a while. It was very pleasant and relaxing walking around the plants, reading the little description boxes and how to care for them. Nature is so cool! We went through Home Depot to replace a slate tile floor and steps with a VPF floor. They assigned ACS. they scheduled us for the day after Thanksgiving 2025 (ie last year) and they said it would take 4 hours. They spent 8 hours, then came back the next day, spent another 8 hours and didn't finish. So they had to reschedule for 3 weeks away to come finish. The installers (the workers, who so far have been the only competent members of this nightmare) finished the floor part, but said they couldn't finish the steps because we were given the wrong stair noses. ACS called home depot and said they would call me right back. They NEVER called me back. this went on for weeks. Just before Christmas, Home depot said they had the right stair noses and I had to pick them up, which I did. So I called ACS to schedule the completion. Have I mentioned that EVERY TIME I call ACS I get a different person, someone who knows nothing about my project and just answers phones and has to look up "notes" to answer my questions. Also EVERY TIME they said they would "call me right back" they never did. not once. And this was 8-9 times over 8 weeks. The flooring finish got rescheduled, the workers came late January (now 7 weeks after it was supposed to be done) and they said they STILL sent the wrong materials. The right ones had to be "special ordered" and ACS couldn't send the workers back for another 3 weeks. Now here we are, February 23, THREE MONTHS after it was supposed to be done, and the workers are here in my house telling me they sent the wrong materials AGAIN. SHEER INCOMPETENCE from all sides. STAY AWAY FROM ACS AND HOME DEPOT FLOOR INSTALLERS!!!!!

I have some vinyl casement windows that were installed 20 years ago by Home Depot. The hinges and…read morehardware rusted and I needed them replaced. The windows themselves were just fine. Surprise, surprise.....turns out most window companies are only interested in selling you new windows, and that's fine, but that's not what I was looking for. Because Home Depot subcontracts, you can't even get the people who originally installed the windows to help out because Home Depot purges files after a while and they don't have any information... But of course, they're happy to sell you new windows. :/ After checking with a half dozen or more window companies it was suggested that I try to find the hardware from Blaine Windows. I called and spoke with Patti Petty (her real name, lol) and she asked for pics of the hardware and she would have her guys put together a quote for me with all the necessary hardware. Other companies send you to their website for you to "fish around" and figure it out on your own. That would be fine except they're are literally dozens and HUNDREDS of options with window hardware... And they all kind of look the same. Amazon wasn't even a reasonable option for me - too much to choose from there too. I'm no hardware specialist, sorry. Patti asked for pics and HER people figure out what's needed. Big difference. Sure enough that's exactly what she did. $165 in parts + $25 shipping = $190 Received my package on Friday via FedEx and had a company that I (finally) found send somebody out this morning to install. Turns out GLASS companies will install window hardware.... So they sent two guys. Whole time they were doing disassembly I was praying that everything that needed to be in that Blaine box was (actually) in that box and everything was going to match up correctly. Everything did!!! Only cost me $180 for the labor. A couple of little brackets were missing, but I emailed Patti and she is going to drop those in the mail for me - no big deal. Windows installed and operational. Thanks to Patti and her team for knowing their business inside and out!! This was a year-long investigative odyssey that I'm glad is finally over....and all for under $400. I tipped the install guys $20 bucks for lunch and am about to enjoy some breeze on this lovely day through my fully functional windows.
