Appliance repair pros came out to repair a broken ice maker. Once they left the water didn't work either, after a 1,000 dollar bill they were able to fix it. Yet they kept my card on file and charged it over $200 extra without my authorization. Do NOT use this company. read more

I want to tell you about my bad experience. Sometime during the week of November 1st-7th 2015, My father-in-law's washing Machine malfunctioned. It was 18 months old and past its one year warranty. He asked me to look into the problem. I visited him, looked at the washing machine, questioned the Nursing Assistants who take care of my mother in law and found the washing machine to continue washing clothes cycle after cycle without stopping. I then went to online to ANGIE'S LIST to find a repair company to fix the appliance. I found APPLIANCE REPAIR PRO of Melbourne, FL. I called them and made an appointment with them for Friday November 9th between 3-5PM. I gave them the make and model# of the machine while making my appointment. The repairman arrived around 5:30PM, not a problem as things happen and I understand falling a little behind. The repairman tells my father in law, "Nothing wrong with your machine. You are using the wrong soap and you need to change the outlet the washing machine is plugged into. You are using the machine wrong and these machines typically have many problems. If you have a family member, switch out or trade machines with them". My father in law paid the repairman his $88 service fee for performing no work. I was not present during the visit. The next day my father in law tells me what transpired and I called APPLIANCE REPAIR PRO. I spoke to Kelly, who told me the following: "You are using the wrong soap, you must use HE soap" "The 4 nurses who do the laundry and your father in law and the nursing assistants are doing the laundry wrong, stopping in the middle of the cycle, forcing it to start over." (NOT TRUE) "If you have a family member that can swap with you please do it. These are sophisticated machines." I did not know it was rocket science. "If you want we have a 90 day service commitment and I will send the repairman back out to teach you (4 assistant nurses and my father in law) how to use the machine." I arrived at my father in laws house and saw the receipt. I could not believe my eyes when I saw it. It said READ OWNERS MANUAL, change the outlet, ran diagnostic no problems reported, Use HE detergent. I read the owners manual. NO WHERE ON THE MACHINE OR THE MANUAL DOES IT SAY USE HE DETERGENT. I know what HE detergent is, by the way. I had the electrical outlet changed and tested. We already owned HE detergent. I ran the washing machine through cycle after cycle with HE detergent and a brand new electrical outlet. I encountered the same exact problem. All of us at the house, 4 CNA nurses, my father in law and myself encountered the same problem. APPLIANCE REPAIR PRO, I believe, visited my 85 year old father in law's house at the END of the day, took his quick $88 service fee and blamed everyone else. I am so mad ALL APPLIANCE PRO and I specifically visited ANGIE'S LIST using the account I paid for to find them. By the way, I called Whirlpool who sent out a competent appliance repairman. They diagnosed a bad start button, ordered the part, came back and replaced it and it works fine. APPLIANCE REPAIR PRO RIPPED US OFF and took advantage of my 85 year old father in law. I know and I am well aware of your 90 or 100 day return policy. Why bother when you blamed 6 people on not how to use such a sophisticated machine? You never gave my father in law a senior discount(he is obviously 85 years old---no disclaimer that you have to ask for it). read more

We had a great experience with the Appliance Repair Pros team. Our dryer went out and we were able to schedule an appointment for the following day. Tony arrived on time the next day and performed some troubleshooting and located the defective part. We paid the service call fee and decided to go forward with the repair. Tony returned a few days later and swapped out the part which unfortunately did not fix our dryer. Tony offered to take the dryer back to the shop to perform more in depth troubleshooting and give us a loaner dryer while ours was out. They were able to fix the dryer in their shop. Appliance Repair Pros are professional and honest, only charging you for the work they performed. I would highly recommend them for any appliance repair need. read more

I recently had my microwave repaired by ARP. The microwave is installed within a kitchen cabinet above a built in oven. It's only 5 years old and LG doesn't make the model anymore. Getting a new microwave the right size to fit in the existing hole would have been difficult. It also had a problem that I thought was not major. Well I called a couple of places and either they were not open or gave me a large quote over the phone. I called ARP, they gave me a reasonable troubleshooting quote and came out in a couple of days. The main problem was a burnt connector which was part of a previous under warranty fix that went unnoticed. He also inspected the operation and found the movement of the microwave tray a little erratic and replaced the small motor. He accomplished this in a very reasonable amount of time and price. I'll be using them again for my appliance repairs. read more

We have used this company 3 different times and have never been disappointed with the service. This last time was a freezer and our tech was so very honest with telling us that we would be better off replacing the freezer because to repair would be expensive. We thanked him and asked him if he would just check our fridge for us. He had repaired it 5 years ago and we hoped he would be able to read more

Tech replaced icemaker 9/12/19 Still not working. 10/2 tech back: problem was wiring. Asked for my original icemaker back and credit. refused. Tech replaced ice maker 9/12/2019. Called to say not working. Said would take a while. Called again tech came back on 10/2 said problem was wiring not icemaker. I asked for my original icemaker back and credit for $266.70 for unnecessary replacement. Said they were testing my icemaker in another fridge. Kept calling for my icemaker back and credit for replacement. Company refused. They said problem was wiring and go to Whirlpool. I called whirlpool and they had no record of call from tech. They charged me for the wrong part and refused to refund the $266.70 I paid. They said not their problem, go to whirlpool. Very Rude.Very bad business practice. They said go ahead complain. I complained to better business bureau and company lied in response. The technician that came out was very good, but if you have a problem, the owner, Kelly is dishonest and does not care about customer service. Do not use. I called them for a water line/ice maker repair, but they actually came and made my refrigerator worse by freezing it shut and making it inoperable. They then said it was my problem to take it outside and dethaw it. Then they refused to return and repair it in a timely manner. When I called they were extremely rude and did not care that I lost time, money, and food. I would give them below a one star if possible. read more
