My fiancé and I moved to Long Beach in November and needed to purchase a fridge and stackable washer/dryer - so we did some research and took our chances with these guys. The fridge has been fine, but to our dismay the washer portion of the stackable set is a lemon and we've had to call SEVERAL times for Hugo to come out and repair it. Each time he says we have to "balance the load" or it will stop at the spin cycle. And that's the excuse we got each time even though we both tried EVERY load on every cycle - 2 bath towels, standard sized load clothes, bed sheets, normal wash, quick wash, rinse and spin - you name it - the same crap each time. Like everyone else in America, I've been doing laundry for years and never had to worry about a messed up spin cycle for some work shirts or two towels.. it's usually bulky/heavy items that are the problem. Timeline: -- Bought and delivered on November 17th , started having problems after the second or third load...the loads get stuck on spin cycle and won't reset until a few hours later (during which time, the machine is making strange sounds). -- December, contacted business for the first time regarding problems. Hugo cut off a few centimetres of the the spin censor so it wouldn't shut down the load. -- February, called business to come fix again... have been ringing out my clothes BY HAND for 2 months now. Not sure what Hugo did this time, but he says it's fixed now... -- March, spin cycle still not working, and at some point the loads stopped starting completely. No water comes out.. machine making a strange growling/humming sound. -- April 7th, called again. He said we need to balance the load better, unscrewed the front of the washer and reset some internal "code". Then let the washer run a full cycle.. with nothing in it.. and of course it was fine... with nothing in it (guessing we're suppose to wash air cause nothing else is ever balanced enough LOL). Said he would send a manual so we could reset it ourselves next time... manual never came. -- April 11th ,I had to call again, and this time same response: "you're not balancing the load, can come reset the code." Hugo had a bad attitude and seemed like he didn't want to be bothered. My response was "So we have to unscrew the machine and reset the code every time we need to wash something now? Don't bother to come".. Then, I finally asked for the refund we deserve or a credit for a FUNCTIONING machine... because at this point, It's clear they sold us a broken item and it's NOT user error, like he's making it seem . He says it's been five months and the warranty only covers 3 months - never mind how many times I've contacted him for repairs WITHIN the 3 month warranty period. And we still never received that manual. Such a waste of time and $800+. Save yours and find somewhere else. read more

Reasonably priced used appliances... meaning they're affordable and ready to go. Rear parking lot exists, but its usually packed with laundromat patrons. I parked right in front of the storefront on PCH during non-peak traffic hours. I have a rental unit that needed a refrigerator soon. Appliance Bros offered FREE same day delivery within Long Beach. Excellent! $15 haul away... $15 to get rid of my junk? Please, take it, and thank you. Walked in, Hugo greeted me, and within 5 minutes looked at a black frigidaire, a white whirlpool, and a stainless steel GE. Went with the Frigidaire. Come in with your price already in mind and your measurements! These were all 29" for a 30" space, no overhead cabinets, so a 65" height would have been fine. TIP: Bring cash. I left and came back with cash money. Cash buys the floor price inclusive of tax and whatever... I didn't hear the rest. ‍ I like it when you want to give me a good deal. Why would anyone want to pay the LB sales tax of 10.25% when you can avoid it? Paying with credit card adds a 3% surcharge. Just saved me 13.25% by paying cash. Winning here already. Why Appliance Bros Technicians when there are other places? Because, I went to Home Depot (very informative sales guy in Lakewood), Sears, American Freight, Lee's Appliances, and none worked out. Either their refrigerators were too beat up (cosmetic issues shouldn't be a big deal.... but if you can get an aesthetically pleasing one for a good price, why not?); were not in stock (Sears cheapest was $500 and I was waitlisted as #31 with a projected availability of a month); or, delivery date was waaaaay out (American Freight's next available delivery date was in 3 weeks, $79 for delivery, and their inventory was hit or miss on a decent looking fridge). I love that I can bring business to a local family-owned shop. Business here is legit with solid, unbeatable prices and personable customer service. I bought the fridge today, and it will be delivered Monday, per my request. Things are looking good. There's a 90 day warranty. I purchased a lightly used LG Max Load dryer, which App Bros delivered, installed AND hauled out the dead one ALL for $270!! How great is that when at Best Buy cheapest on sale was close to $700 which didn't include delivery and set up?! AND they give you a 90 day warranty coverage for the appliance. My home warranty company paid out over $600 for the dead one cuz the motherboard died so I pocketed $300 AND snagged a much newer and nicer one. The store had a variety of used dryers to choose from; I selected this one because it matched my white washer, but it had a stainless steel drum on the inside and a window to watch the clothes spin, my fav pastime! But they also had one that was stainless steel on the outside, and another Ithat was like a dark metallic. The service was great... Except for the late delivery. They were scheduled to arrive between 3 and 4 PM; I called at three and Jasmine apologized that the guy was running late Because they had only one delivery person/installer. He called me shortly there after and said he was within seven minutes of my home but I think it took about another hour. So it was nightfall by the time you arrive but once he was there he did An excellent job with the install, including replacing some venting and a gas line and even swept up all of the dirt and trash that was under the dryer before he put in the new one. Because they didn't have the paper directions, he kind of walked me through an orientation that was less than thorough.But that's the only small grape I have. Most of my interactions were done by texting I didn't feel the need to go into the shop to see the dryer and they didn't require it. I could've either paid with a credit card for 3% more but I opted to just pay with cash when the gentleman arrived. So it's very convenient if you feel comfortable Buying an appliance without seeing it, to get all of the business done in the comfort of my home. I did have some phone conversations with Jasmine as well to coordinate the delivery etc. and she was very personable and professional on the phone. She even followed up later in the day to make sure everything went well and actively requested feedback for service improvement. I'd def go back and I highly recommend the store! Do not buy from them. Yes, these are cheaper options that look decent but you'll end up paying more in the end. Ordered a fridge back in October from them & should've known at that time. I set my delivery up for my new apartment in Hawthorne, signed & paid for it on the spot with Jasmine. & got a call from her husband 10 mins later that they didn't know it was in Hawthorne. I told Jasmine that multiple times because I saw the sign that said free delivery to LB & wanted to make sure it was extended to me & she said it was fine. So he told me I would have to pay $20, I told him I already told Jasmine it was in Hawthorne & she didn't charge me. But according to him, I should've been charged. Fine, it's $20 so I was willing to pay. Got my fridge that day, they were very late & did not contact me beforehand to say so. Not a huge deal as I understood things run behind. A few weeks later, I had a small leak of water so the husband came out to replace the fan to fix it & it seemed to fix things. Great. A few months later & my fridge started leaking water inside so I called them. Keep in mind when they sold me the fridge & advised me of the 90 day warranty, I specifically asked if following the warranty, I can pay for repairs if it's still needed & they said yes. This was important as it's used so I wanted to be sure. I contacted them & they said they couldn't do anything because I'm not in LB & past warranty, even if I paid. I wasn't in LB when it was delivered so what is the difference now. It's unacceptable you wouldn't help a paying customer which leads me to think they know these fridges will break down & they don't plan to do anything after the fact. Don't waste your money, spend more to avoid less later because now I have to get a new fridge. Learn how to communicate your sales too because both of them are never on the same page. read more

The 1 Star is because I am so disappointed in how Jasmine the salesperson treated me. I was there yesterday August 13th to look at a black fridge but they sold it and then I called the next afternoon and asked about a stainless steel refrigerator they had and talked to Jasmine and asked if it was still available. She said yes so I asked for measurements just to make sure it would fit in my new place and she gave me the info and it was perfect so I told her that I was on my way to purchase the stainless steel fridge which was ten minutes away and she replied to me on what payments are accepted but as soon as I got out the car and was about to walk in with the cash she texted me that she sold it. She NEVER SAID ANYTHING to me about first come first serve during our communication. She didn't even try to: 1) communicate back to me with a warning that someone was there inquiring or 2) tell me about their FIRST COME FIRST SERVE POLICY when she knew that I was on my way to pay for the fridge, and WORST OF ALL she DID NOT EVEN APOLOGIZE when I walked in the store. She looked at me and said, 'I just sold it,' to the young man she says had "with NO questions" about the purchase she was obviously distracted smiling and starry-eyed at this guy. I certainly see that I wasn't as cute as he was. Attached are the text conversation between me and her through the letgo app. She clearly lead me to believe that she understood that I was on my way. You can see on the text messages that she DID NOT advise me about the policy she mentioned after the fact. Apparently customer service wasn't important today. It is truly unfortunate that I see she has great reviews here on Yelp about her customer service abilities. I just wonder why my experience wasn't as great as the other customers and what did I do wrong to have made her decide or assume that I didn't deserve or receive her "good" customer service like the rest. She had excuses for her bad customer service decisions. She wasted my time and my gas and had no good reason why she did what she did. Pretty upset and she ruined my day!!!! I didn't appreciate the bad service!!! Wow, can't believe this happened today, I was with my sister all day today! Getting things done with her new home! We were pretty excited for her! I heard her talking to several people on the phone and yes Jasmine was one of them, that she kept going back and forth with her! Finally we went back to her home to get measurements. She was so excited cause the measurements was perfect! She called Jasmine again to inform her we were on our way to purchase and Jasmine said we take cash or credit , My sis had cash! And still while driving there my sis was still texting her and my sis told me to drive faster because she said Jasmine was expecting her. We pull into the parking lot, literally get out the car, put our mask on and got the text that she sold the fridge! We were surprised, but went in anyways. To see what had happened, what did we see Jasmine no mask, and the Latin man also no mask , smiling at eachother, saying yup he just bought it! Seriously that was wrong! She knew we were on our way! It was 10 mins when my sis last talked to her! How in the heck can you just do that? Jasmine you were so wrong! That is such bad customer service! I can't believe you did that!
