I was told to visit the Barrhaven location of activecare, great doctors i was told. There was a very small lineup, 3 people i think - i was quickly brought to a room (high blood pressure reading) and the doctor was quick, prompt, friendly, and ordered the proper tests right away......and best of all apparently she's taking new patients :) It's tough to find a good doctor nowdays.......but i will say i have a number of friends that live in the states and always ask me about our healthcare.......with Obamacare getting traction.......and i must say we have some of the best healthcare available in this country. I suffer from high anxiety disorder so around 3h20 went to see what was going on, she mention to me I miss the appointment I was late, I response I wasn't late I was sitting in the waiting room and that she should done her work to call me. I say it makes no sense not to let the patient know about the appointment she say it was not her duty to do that, but mine to go register, but when you have a sickness normal you do not think. Well this week, my wife had an appointment so we went, guess what that doctor instead helping her told us to find another doctor because I start a big fight in the Medical Clinic, wow exagerated by the secretary I told the doctor what she did that day, but he defending her indeed. I felt judge by this doctor, I felt also he was racist toward my wife never taking the time to help he or understand her. Please be aware of that clinic, I would not recommend that place even if you desperate to be treated like a dog.

There is only 1 employee besides the doctor working, they are not staffed enough to handle the amount of people needing to be seen. It is the only location in the city open to see walk in patients so I don't have much of a choice but to wait. And the staff member working is not very helpful, she ignores patients, gives false wait times and is generally frazzled. Apple tree medical center is the worst, over the years they have cost me a day going to get…read moreimmunization records at 4 locations, Dr Amjad gave information to my mother that my son had swollen adenoids and may need to remove them, my lovely mother went with it like a sheep, yet a second opinion, and a dentist told me no they were not swollen, my lovely mother took me to court again (her go to to hurt me) and charged me with contempt of court over my sons apparent swollen adenoids I was not taking care of. Three months later Dr. Amjad from to West End location chose not to show up for 3 scheduled phone conversations, we my husband and I both spent hours trying to get through to Appletree to find out why and our work and raising our boy suffered greatly over the time and stress, now I had to get  lawyer to get her to call me! It is unacceptable, it is unprofessional, and now it is costing me a lot of money to get information on my son! Honestly it has been a disturbing experience.

After 0930 he comes out to say the MD is not coming. From the reviews which unfortunately I didn't read beforehand, said a few days before another Dr. was a no show. I'm told Walk In Clinic physicians are paid a fraction of what they deserve. Thousands of people have no family MD so why are walk-in Clinic Dr's not better compensated?? If they were, these Clinics could be better staffed and more sick patients could be helped. No wonder our ER's are overflowing and our health care system is crumbling!
