Two days before got a 'reminder' phone call. One day before got a 'reminder' email. So, I showed up five minutes before my noon appointment. There were 11 people in the waiting area. At 12:05 PM got called in to "check my "vitals" which included height and blood pressure but not temperature or weight. Was sent back out to the waiting area at 12:10 PM. And there I sat until 1:10 PM - 70 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Patients showed up and left and when I checked about the delay, I was told the number of people still "in front" of me. Not helpful. Finally got invited into the inner sanctum. In the examining room a "physician assistant (PA)" took my history (already in their system; no changes) and conducted the entire physical examination even completed the Lab Requisition. Screaming child in the next room throughout. No Dr. Sharma in sight. She appeared ten minutes after the exam, signed the Requisition and asked if I had any health concerns. Certainly not here! I left never to return. I will visit my dog's veterinarian before I go back there. Santé Alliance Health is a commercial business masquerading as a medical clinic. They have a multi-page handout listing extra charges. A missed physical is $80. A prescription renewal is $20 by phone or book an in-person appointment (for which they bill OHIP the consult fee). There is a connected pharmacy to which they can refer you for "convenience". They overbook appointments with no respect for patients' time. Avoid. The ER is better.

To have both a doctor's office and a dentist in the same building in a small town is formidable. The manner and care these people put in is great. They are all smiles and very personable people. However, they need some better organization. You call them, and it goes straight to voicemail. They call you back about 30-45m later, but let's just say you happen to be busy. It suddenly becomes this game of phone tag. Very frustrating if you need to see someone right away. They implemented a way of booking an appointment online, which is great, but it seems nobody ever does that--which must be why the phone line is always so busy! Getting to see someone comes down to luck, honestly. You could be dying and they would only have space for you next week at 7am. If you come in and ask to be maybe put in earlier on the basis of an emergency, like I did a few weeks ago, you wait in their lobby for 45 minutes only to get frustrated and leave--but then they call you and say they were "JUST about to sit you". Tragic. Missed appointments are subject to a 50$ no show fee, so instead of running around and dealing with people who don't respect your time, just go to another doctor.

This is not a "care" facility. They don't actually care. Every time I've been there, we have had…read moreto see a different GP because the turnover is so high. The first GP we had was on the news for "patient ettiquette" basically talking down to people and telling them what to wear. This isn't a fashion show. People are sick and need care, they're not going to show up in a *ucking tuxedo!! Next, we were going overseas, and needed to see a GP to get our daughter checked out. The GP treated it very dismissively, and booked us an appointment on the same day we were going to leave, so we had to email them (because for some reason you can't change appointments over the phone... well the reason is that they want everything in writing to cover their butts, because their receptionists don't understand English, and can't take appointments properly). The next GP didn't even know which patient she was seeing, she called my daughter by a different name, which likely means she didn't review the file before my daughter was seen. I guess everything is in the computer, right?? They have a policy that you must be 15 minutes early for appointments, but when they are late by 45 minutes, they act indignant if you bring it up, not even so much as an apology. In fact, they start making snarky quips and digs at you. It's unbelievable! Now, my daughter has had severe stomach pains for over a week, and they made her wait an entire week, telling us to go to the children's hospital, who then told us to see our GP!! This place is literally run like the hospital in Idiocracy. If I were dying, and needed urgent care, this is the LAST place I would go, because they'd probably put me on MAID without my consent. When reading this, you might think I'm joking, or overstating things. I can assure you this isn't the case. The only reason we're still using them is because all other GPs are not taking patients in our area, and this is literally the only option. I guess maybe Canada should do better to keep doctors in Canada, instead of having a brain drain to the US, where they actually pay them a decent wage!

The waiting rom is big and spacious, with lots of seating. When we walked in, there were a few people but it wasn't crowded, so the wait was not eternal.
