This office never updates their website. You never know if it open or if it's appointment only or walk in. This place is a joke

I joined La Vie, Ottawa , Canada in March 2024 for a comprehensive health check up. Paid over…read more$3,000 for it. From Day one it was obvious that their staff were not trained or professional. Contradictory information was being provided . There was no transparency whatsoever. The ultrasound lady left me soaking wet as she refused to let me take my clothes off when she spread the gel. My appointment with Dr Monpetit for my annual. She took my blood pressure and said that's it. When I asked if she was going to at least check my lungs and examine me, she told me to take my clothes off and never left the room while I undressed. The nurse was unable to take an ECG! They had to do it a second time. Dr Montpetit could not read the ECG. Then Dr MonPetit who was assigned to me insisted I go for a three hour cardiac perfusion to a place on Merivale Road. I told them they had not done the normal steps - ultrasound and stress echo first before insisting I do a two day test which is invasive and intrusive as you're injected with a dye . I refused as I knew after talking to a top cardiologist they were wrong. It would be interesting to find out the connection between the owner of La Vie and Merivale imaging. You're supposed to get tested for your fitness by a personal trainer. She asked me at 71 years of age to jump and made me sit on a totally unusable bike. I'm a cyclist and have ridden 95 kms but could not ride this bike which only used arms. My physiotherapist said jumping would be very damaging to me at my age. I gave up on the incompetence of the individuals at La Vie utterly disappointed with them and myself for having wasted so much money and time and joined Executive Health. What a world of difference. They're professional, competent, efficient and thorough. I'm so impressed and pleased. No, I didn't need to do the cardiac perfusion as the previous tests were all normal, which La Vie pretended they were not. My heart is just fine. Executive Health is run seamlessly. Do not waste your money on La Vie

Preston St. Location…read more Takes 5+ hours to be seen on almost any day, even by someone for intake. Went for refill of a medication and was told I should go see an NP instead and when I mentioned I couldn't comfortably afford it, was met with a mocking tone about it. Went on two different days and didn't see anyone either because I can't spend more than 6+ hours at a clinic just waiting when I have to work. They got as far as faxing my pharmacy but gave them an incorrect number to send files to. They have huge issues with communicating information about cost of services and transferring any kind of files at all their locations from what I've heard from others. Walk in only, even if you're rostered, no appointments with the same doctor which causes issues with consistency of care. They very obviously take on way more patients than they can handle, and do not care about quality of care. Ended up digging out of my emergency fund to see an NP elsewhere.

This is possibly one of the worst clinics for a walkin patient…read more Since My family Dr. retired a few months ago I had little choice but to visit a clinic. They told me that they had no Doctors at the site and I would have to be seen by a NP (Nurse Practitioner) , which for whatever reason carries a charge of $97, and is not covered by OHIP ,nor my health plan with my employer (Government of Canada) as I found out later. They did not bother informing me that the fee was not covered by anyone , and if that wasn't bad enough Their service was subpar at best and the Nurse had an absolute terrible bedside manor. After talking for about 5 minutes she was done and prescribed some medication. when she came back into the room I wanted to inform her that I was also experiencing some chest pains, to which she replied "Sorry, I'm out of time", having spent 5 minutes with me. My recommendation is to AVOID THIS CLINIC LIKE THE PLAGUE !!
