We arrived at…read moreapprox 1.50pm which was obviously staff changing over time as there were three women standing behind the counter, one fastening her handbag ready to leave. The women were nattering and didn't even bother to acknowledge our arrival. I was waiting to ask what the muffins were, but as nobody appeared to be interested in coming over to assist I decided I would ask when I ordered the coffees. Despite the fact that my husband had sat at a table directly opposite the till and I was standing with my money in my hand waiting to place an order, the conversation between the three women was obviously far more interesting than serving their customers. After waiting for approximately three minutes, I decided enough was enough and we left. We are regular visitors to this cafe and have experienced two of these womens' behaviour before. They seem more concerned in talking about what they are having for tea than serving customers and clearing tables, It is a shame because the manager is always very pleasant when we go in there. It is a great pity his staff let him down. Will think twice before going in there again.

However there is a blonde woman, I presume the owner, who when you've filled up your loyalty card by spending quite a lot on coffee so you can get a free one, actually charges you 20p for the larger coffee even though you have spent enough on a lot of coffee to actually get a free one lol This is not good customer service, nowhere in Middleton does this, or anywhere else for that matter, but if that 20p means the world to you then you have it, it's being stingy! Especially when the coffee is WAY overpriced, it's closely priced to the brand names like Starbucks, the coffee is far from being on par with Starbucks, and I think that should be reflected in the price, but it isn't... So stop charging 20p extra when I've spent a fortune to save up the free coffee on my loyalty card... And lower the prices, it's no Starbucks...

It is one of my favourite places to get food in Middleton town centre, although I do have some minor issues with food quality/temperature, the majority of times I order from here I am impressed with my food, the new box which they package the potatoes in is much stronger and better too, this means they travel much better now in delivery orders, which are becoming increasingly common in wake of the pandemic and UK government lockdown. The staff are happy to take extra care with my order due to my dietary requirements, my regular order is a tuna and cheese jacket potato with the tuna on first, I like how they make sure they listen to my comments (Many places ignore these) to make the potato how I like it, most importantly putting the tuna on first as I hate when the cheese melts onto the potato. The prices are competitive, especially considering Uber Eats is generally expensive due to the number of fees they charge but do try to get down to the van if you can, you will save money on Uber's fees but the delivery is fast and convenient. 4* - Good quality potatoes, I have noticed they sometimes don't taste as good if you order after 1:45 pm, but this is often the case at many similar establishments, and it's just good they still have some potatoes left going into the afternoon.

Lords of Middleton is a family butchers in my hometown of Middleton, in Greater Manchester, it is a…read moresmall butchers which has been in the town for generations, as I recall this was even here when Queen Victoria was Queen of England, which certainly is a long time ago as since then we've seen the longest serving monarch die and get another King (well four of them), and then his replacement become the new longest serving monarch in this country. This butchers is quite nice and for me stands out in terms of quality, although inside it feels a little small and squashed they do have a good selection of meat from cooked meat to chicken to sausages. They do also have gluten free sausages which they make on request, they are quite nice and it tastes like a good sausage in terms of quality, with a lack of fat too. One of my main issues here is the price, it is expensive but still you have got to pay that for the quality, but still I can't help but feel some items are a little pricey. The gluten free sausages are some of the best I've had, I normally ask for mine with extra herbs and black pepper, and they both taste and look fresh, with gluten free food normally not taking as nice, Lords do it on a whole new level to make it seem like a sausage which did contain gluten, but they are gluten free. The location is decent, yet it is slightly hidden towards the back/end of Middleton Gardens, opposite Wetherspoons in such a small spot, perhaps a bigger place to allow more customers to move about and to show their great range of products in a better manner might be something Lords should look to in the future. I'm struggling rating this place, on one hand I want to give a high rating as they probably do the best gluten free sausages I have tasted, but on another I feel certain issues with the room inside the shop and pricing mean it deserves a slightly lower rating, and because of this I feel Lords of Middleton for now deserve a very high three star rating, but I hope to move towards a four in the near future

I spoken to them on the phone to ask about the chips being gluten free, she told me that she would check, after some time on "silent hold", I noticed that she had hung up on me, hence I rang back (no reply), a few minutes later I phoned back, she blamed the disconnection on a simple thing not of her fault, and she did eventually tell me they were gluten free, and they was no chance of cross-contamination. I was delighted to see a chippy do this, she claimed they had a separate fryer and they were gluten free, however as soon as I arrived their and my friend ran in, they were saying things about me " That call burnt my head out, and I don't know what I'm doing now" was one of her quotations. I felt really upset to hear about this, especially considering they had a large sign up, mentioning to ask about allergy information, considering what happened with her reaction to the phone call, hanging up on me on one occasion and also ignoring my call, straight away, I feel they don't have a clue about allergies, and would rather risk making customers very unwell and call them names behind their back, rather than tell them a truth, this could loose business but it would avoid customers becoming very angry and/or ill. I really do regret giving The Mod Cod a second chance, and I am quite upset for them to talk me about that, especially considering since December 2014 it has been EU law for places to provide allergen information, and although they did, I highly doubt what they told me was true, but to get me off the phone quickly. I also feel not only is it disgraceful to insult customers behind their back, but to other customers too.

Went here when it first opened and it was expensive but really nice…read more Went in last week and got a scollop muffin and nearly broke my teeth on it the scollops had been reheated that many times they had evaporated the potato that was once in them leaving just the hard reheated batter shell and I mean hard batter the only good thing was the muffin which I ate on its own after throwing the scallops away such a shame their standards have slipped so badly.
