The sea bass was one of the most expensive dishes but when it arrived sizzling on a hotplate I was pleased. On the side it came with a gorgeous veggie curry sauce. The portions were massive unlike some places you go that offer no more than a sliver of fish. Even digesting this with red wine I waved the white flag at half way point. To end we were given segments of orange and the bill. Everything was reasonably.priced, well made and the service attentive. Mumbai Spice has undergone a refurbishment since my last visit, the decor and ambience is right on point. Poppadoms are served as a pre-starter with the usual mix of onions, chutney and mint yoghurt. For a starter I had the mixed kebab which I really enjoyed. For mains I shared a chicken jalfrezi and a chicken sizzler accompanied by rice and garlic naan. The whole meal was delicious, I couldn't fault it. They do accept the tastecard for 2 people but not on Friday or Saturday and you have to book which I would recommend as it can get full. Our total bill for 2 people came to £33, not bad considering we had 2 drinks each. They do finish off by providing you with a shot of Baileys, a hot towel and an after eight mint which I thought was a nice touch. The portion sizes are perfect, and we always leave feeling stuffed and ready for a nap :) Like Loz.L says you can always take away your food if you don't fancy eating it. Service was friendly and efficient, offering good recommendations. They were attentive, asking if we would like a break between courses. Our orders turned up promptly. The restaurant space is large and has managed to keep an intimate feel with the clever use of glass screens. We were able to enjoy a meal for two undisturbed by a family celebrating an 18th 20 ft away. The menu has everything you would expect of an Indian restaurant, and many new dishes we had not tried before. We took advantage of the Friday night meal deal, that covers 80% of the menu and was excellent value. This place is a gem, and we will definitely be going back.

I would suggest sharing a nan bread but you wouldn't have the chance with me around (love those things). Quick and very good. (I feel stuffed)
