We went for supper last night, the place was packed. We got seated and waited about 10 min for a waitress who asked if we were ready to order. We ordered our drinks, app and dinner all at once. It took quite a while for our drinks, the waitress did say the bartender was busy. Got our app and about 5 minutes later our dinner arrived. We had to ask for napkins and silverware after our app came. I could see the wait staff gathered at their station, to me it didn't seem like they were all that busy. Terrible service and management. Decided subjectively that we were not worthy of being served despite being sober.

Stopped in for a couple of drinks and was served by a bartender that was more interested in someone who wasn't working the current shift. After receiving drinks we were ignored and had to listen to complaints about having to put dishes away. Then had to wait 10 minutes to try to get another drink. Store had only 4 tables occupied at the time. Would not recommend. read more

My food was supposed to be ready by 910, carside. At 930, I finally got sick of waiting, went inside. Girl on her cellphone finishes her call and then acknowledges I'm standing there. Having no idea I was expecting food, she went off to search for my ticket, which I could see was hanging in their kitchen. Next, several employees made comments about a co-worker having been let go early, did not tell anyone when she left and my order slipped through the cracks because of her. No go. Serious problem with management if they were unaware their employee left early. What about the rest of the crew who should have known to pick up where others left off. Group effort goes a long way- this was not a mistake made by the person who left, rather a group effort. Twenty more minutes of waiting for food, someone finally set my bag behind the register. Employee takes my money, literally walked out of the room without saying another word. I finally got frustrated enough, to go behind the register to get my own food, and leave. An afterthought, SERIOUSLY unprofessional for several employees to openly talk negatively about a co-worker in front of a client or customer. Bad news bears and real cold food. Okay, okay I have been to this franchise restaurant before in different states and I had atleast a 3 or 4 star rating. This time it was terrible. I only had the chicken Caesar salad. My friends had the burger, appetizers and wings. We didn't have to wait at all w/ a party of 5. My experience and food wad horrible. My alcohol beverage arrived in a warm glass, and my soda was in a dirty and had oily floaties on the top. My salad was not fresh at all because the greens were eaten by bugs and it was slimy and old. I have enclosed a pic for your review. I explained to the waitress that I was not at all pleased w/ my food. I showed her the greens that i picked out from my salad. She had the audacity to say (and I quote), "Oh we use a big spinner here and they looked bruised greens to me." I asked for the manager and he said, "Oh no it looks like the greens were old and I must agree w/ you they do look like bug bites." Needless to say, I paid in full and corporate received an email with pics from me. My friends had similar experience except for one. They had something fried fish. Was not impressed with the food or service. I have been to some other Applebee's locations and have been happy with the food and service. The food seemed thrown together, cold, and in smaller portions than I've had in other locations. The server seemed inattentive and had poor communication skills. Won't be back soon. The food here is absolutely horrendous. The chicken is fatty and has an odd texture, and my husbands steak had to be sent back because it was so red. Definitely not worth the money, and the waitstaff is not attentive at all. read more

My wife and I went there for lunch. We were seated in a booth that has very torn cushions even though there were very few patrons in the restaurant. I remarked in the waitresses hearing that I was concerned that we would be siting in whatever food someone else had spilled into the inner cushions. We tried the lunch specials. I had the all american burger with fries. The burger was disgustingly greasy which soaked the bun. I could only eat a couple of bites and regretted it. The french fries were so salty they were burning my mouth. My wife had the turkey and bacon grill which was remarkably cold and poor tasting. She would never order that again. The waitress was very inattentive and took away our nearly untouched dishes without even a comment other than, "Are you done with these? and I'll get your check... I think she actually attended us a total of four times. The drink order, the meal order, bringing the meal and then taking it away... We were very disappointed and even though we live in Rockland we probably won't go again. read more

Calling this a bad dining experience would be giving the cook and wait staff an undeserved compliment. Simple order: a couple salads, soups and chicken fingers. Forty minutes later, cold soup, chicken fingers burnt to a crisp. If you're hungry in Thomaston, you'll probably do better at BK or MacD's read more

Went to the Thomaston restaurant on Mothers Day and we waited for over an hr for our food. Said they were waiting on two of our meals? Didn't offer free dessert or anything. They knew we were going to the movies so once we did get our meals we couldn't eat it all and it was COLD! Didn't have time to tell them to fix it or else we would have missed the movies. Kind of put a damper on the day. Pretty sad when our five year old kept asking the waitress where our food was cause he was hungry! Ridiculous! Wont be going to back to that one! read more

Really not sure why we continue to go back to this place! Tried to take my family out for a nice meal and it was just beyond terrible. The wait to get a table was about 20 minutes. We discussed going to a local favorite instead, but decided to stick it out and wait. Finally got a table and our favorite server, Jared (who by the way, really does his best and always has a smile). We then ordered and proceeded to sit and wait for 55 minutes while we ate an appetizer of stale tortilla chips and a ramekin of half-full spinach artichoke cheese dip. We finally get our meal after receiving the wrong size drink. My 5 year-old daughter gets the kids Mac and cheese. It's literally Easy Mac-n-cheese right out of the microwave and looks like it's been sitting out for the 55 minutes we waited. I get my Philly pub sandwich which looked a piece of shoe leather with a couple of oily old onions and peppers on it. It's supposed to come with a special sauce to dip it in. What I got was a plastic cup with a half-inch of now hardened sauce with a hair in it. I asked for new sauce and pointed out the hair. Never heard an apology. My wife and older daughter ordered what looked in picture on the menu like a masterpiece of steak, rice, vegetables and crispy onions piled high. What they received was a plate of a mushy looking mess of what looked like the the right ingredients minus the crispy onions--we had to ask for those. The steak was way over cooked and too chewy to eat. My wife asked for a new meal so we had to sit and wait another 20 minutes. Meanwhile they brought us out complimentary deep-fried pretzels dripping with oil. The mgr on duty did comp us some food but for the 2-1/2 hours we sat there, it was just ridiculous. We tipped Jared for what our full meal would've been. We heard other customers complaining around us as well and watched a server try to chase down diners who didn't tip her. This was the LAST of many terrible experiences at this location. We will not be going back...ever! read more

I had to stay in this town last night on my way home due to the storm. Applebee's was right outside the WONDERFUL inn I stayed at. Very few places in town had power but the inn and Applebee's did. My waitress was wonderful! Restaurant was busy, there were empty tables and a line of people waiting to be seated, some of them lineman from the electric company. I overheard that the manager would not let them seat people "because he was afraid they would lose power and the generator could not handle cooking the food." These linemen waiting to be seated to get something to eat have been out working in the horrible storm, weather and hazardous wind and temperature conditions so that power can be restored to all in this area and they cannot get a table or food "because the manager is afraid they may lose power"? I sat at my table, having just been served my meal and seeing others as well being served food and beverages and at this point I am truly disheartened with the management if this is truly the case. I voiced my opinion to my waitress and the hostess as well and asked to speak to the manager. He never did come to my table at my request but did come out of somewhere towards the back of the restaurant and started getting the waiting people seated. Unfortunately these people had to wait way too long to get a table and food which is truly a shame. These guys need to be taken care of while they are working to take care of us!!!! If the manager cannot make a decision as to whether to close the establishment and still be letting people in the door expecting to be served then maybe he should not be in management. read more
