We enjoy this Applebee's from time to time. We always play Walker Hayes "Fancy Like" on the Touch Tunes and have a very enjoyable visit. The bar area is generally full of regulars and the servers couldn't be nicer. The menu is large and has a veggie burger, which is great to pair with their garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. I'm not sure why anyone would give this place bad reviews. It's solid. read more

Our waitress, I believe her name was Katie. Was so rude and just completely unprofessional. We could hear her huffing every time she walked by our table. The table behind us asked her for a box, and she told them" it's going to be a couple mins because I need to pee". And before that, they were motioning for her so they could grab their check, she made a comment to our table," this lady better be asking for her check or I am going to pee in front of her". Did lunch at Applebee's in The Villages, arrived on a Thursday just after noon and were promptly seated. Our server (Julian) was constantly rushing all over his station. When he had a moment, we commented on the rushing and he said there were only 2 servers on at that time. Julian was a star and did a great job of taking care of our table. They're running some meal specials at 9.99 and I would have chosen one but I wanted coleslaw instead of fries and was told no substitutions on the specials. I could order the same dish from regular price menu (14.99) and do substitutions. A bit stupid to me so I ordered something else. I had the won ton taco appetizer which was great as usual. My friend had that new grilled cheese burger with a " savory bacon jam" sauce on the side. Her burger was dry and tasteless. The bread was also dry. Not sourdough as advertised. I tried the " bacon jam" sauce. It tasted like soy sauce with something tomato in it. The worst sauce I've ever tasted. Her tomato soup wasn't hot. They heated it up . The beer was very cold and good. She brought the sandwich home for the dogs and ate only the soup and a couple won ton tacos. We don't think we'll be back, although I used to really like Applebee's and the fun atmosphere. What a disappointment. read more

Soooo disappointing... gave them 4/5* on last visit. Sat at the bar - and waited! NO idea where the bartender was but she finally showed up (from the kitchen). Took our drink order and gave us menus. A party of 6 sat in the bar several mins after us... she went to take their drink order (totally understand) brought the drinks out AND proceeded to take their order. WHAT? Seated after a 2-top and you're taking a 6 person order. Ordered the usual - Asian chix salad and prime rib sandwich. I do have to say the food was pretty good - EXCEPT for the slimy/gross lettuce. I think when you $15-$18 lettuce -- it should not be brown and slimy. The bartender was nice - but she was never around. I would see her coming from the kitchen area. Obviously there was something more important than the 10'ish people in the bar??? Sorry, I understand why you're rated 2.5 stars. read more

Applebee's will always have a place in my heart. Not because I used to work there in my college days or anything lol. Layla was our server during our late night happy hour with my sister. She was friendly. It was a busy night. She was attentive. My sister and I had just got back from Disney so stopped by. We sat down at our table. Checked out the happy hour menu while watching the NBA playoffs. The food was good. The margarita was huge and good. Plenty of parking. It's a great choice for anything late night as they open late for the town. The music was perfect sound. Clean location. Ordered chicken wonton, spinach dip, boneless wings, chicken quesadillas and the margarita. All was super yummy and a great price since they were half priced. Haven't been in an Applebee's in a hot minute.. we were not expecting much but we're pleasantly surprised. Service was good and quick. I had the oriental chicken salad.. it was as good as I remembered and my husband had a burger which he enjoyed. We came in as a party of 4 not to busy it took a while for our server to greet us we sat over 5 minutes once she arrived she just asked if we were ready to order we were not so we gave her our drink order which were all fountain drinks that took another 5-10 minutes once she came back to the table we put our order in she never returned to the table to refill our drinks the only time she came back was to deliver the food,once she dropped of the food we asked for refills she didn't offer so we waited again we didn't have ketchup so I had to get up and get it from another table our fries were cold by the time she came back with drinks we had almost finished our meals so I asked for the checks overall the service was terrible the food was mediocre I don't think we will be returning so if your looking for a mediocre place to eat this place is perfect! read more

Our server was super friendly, but it took forever to get our food and food refills on all you can eat. Our beverages also went dry. The food was really good, the riblets were really meaty -but the fries were a bit cold. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant -but the floors were EXTREMELY slippery -not wet, but some kind of wax. read more

I wanted to give a big shout out to this Applebee's and mention Allie as a wonderful server! She was very accommodating and pleasant! I treated a friend to a late lunch on Saturday 12-22-24 on our way to Apopka. We both ordered the grilled chicken plate. The food was amazing! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were as green and fresh as possible!! The appetizer pretzels with the beer cheese and honey mustard was super good! Kudis to the kitchen staff! We both were very satisfied and enjoyed our experience there. I will be back! I went up to Allan the manager on duty and let him know all that I have put in this review. There were 4 in our party. #1 (me) had fish & chips. The fries were cold not warm but cold. The fish tasted like Gordon's grocery freezer fish. Cole slaw was good and french onion soup was just ok. #2 Ayce ribs were very meaty & good. Friends were cold. #3 Ayce boneless wings were just ok and again cold fries #4 ayce shrimp and cold fries. The shrimp was very good surprisingly. The reason for a 2 star review is ; Cold fries! The service was very slow. We waited a very long time to get the first foods. The refills were more timely. We were left sitting alone after we left the bar at a table forever. So I flagged a waitress for the manager. Manager was there but not really seeming to understand the problem. She apologized and said maybe we should come back on other days and times, as if, when that bartender was not working ! Are you kidding me? She did give my friend a coffee, at my suggestion, however I doubt if I will return. Really wanted to try their Fish and Chips, but will not. Not fun. won't return to this location. I was traveling to Disney when we decided to stop off at Applebee's in The Villages for some lunch. Upon entering it was clean and the atmosphere that of any bar and grill. The gentleman at the hostess stand greets us cordially and asked us how many in our party. I said 2 and he asks if we would like a high table. I ask if we could be seated at a table due to my MS and he mumbled that he had 80-year-olds who could sit at the high table. I was taken back but smiled and replied that's great. He told us it would be a 15-minute wait for the table as they just opened. After 20 minutes we were seated with a nice window view. Our waitress came by got our drink order and left. She was polite but not very people friendly. She returned after 15 minutes with drinks took our order and left. Our food arrived in a timely manner and was amazing. The salad was crisp and fresh, soup was hot and delicious. other than delivering food and the check our waitress never came near us to refill our water glasses or to ask us if we needed anything. The good points of this restaurant were good food, a good view and a great atmosphere. Cons waitress was intentive and the host was very rude. read more

This won the prize for my worst experience of 2022, congratulations. First, we were seated without menus and told our server would be right over with them, that took 10 minutes. I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. The salad was brought to me and I saw sliced almonds on it and told the server I didn't realize the salad came with almonds. I said I was allergic to almonds. She said "Well we just need to make you another one then" and took it away. When we got our bill we were charged for both salads. Way to give excellent customer service! read more

If you want to watch sports then I hope you like golf ball size sun spots on the tvs it's like I was looking through an old movie projector at a silent film. Service and food here varied a lot. The restaurant was cold, so the food didn't stay warm for long, either. It took quite a while to receive our orders. My husband's burger was okay but the fries were dry. Corn was unpleasantly salty, not worth eating. Coleslaw was dry and flavorless. The meat on my riblet platter was drowning in barbecue sauce and was so tough and hard I couldn't even cut it let alone eat it, but the restaurant was too busy for our server to return to our table so I could tell her about it. We eventually begged another server for our check and paid our bill, leaving so much unpalatable food behind I was hungry afterwards. Not a fun experience. read more

Went to this location last night not knowing that it was karaoke night. Stepping in to there were some kids dancing, and the music was on point. The kids left b4 our driinks came, but they were not disruptive. We Had a blast, AND the food was good.
