A bit of a confusing place. You walk up and it's seat yourself. That's fine and all but there's no servers to be seen......anywhere. So I walk back up and see a QR code to use to place an order. It asks for my table number but nothing is on the table. So I walk inside and see a salt and pepper holder with a number on it, quite a few actually, somewhat hiding on the hostess stand. I grab it and start placing my order but then a server comes out to take my order. After we order (burger, quesadilla, kids hot dog, kids pizza) it took over an hour for the food. The kicker.....my kids orders weren't correct. We got the "trivia night, kitchens backed up" excuse I read in the comments. Took 30 mins for the check after asking. All in all about a 1:45-2hr experience.....SLOW. read more

Wow, talk about a bad experience! Bad service! Bad food! Bad atmosphere! They were short handed and the bad attitude bartender didn't help the situation. She appeared to be having a bad day and it showed. When we finally got waited on it took at least 30 minutes to get our drink. The burger was okay as well as the club sandwich. The chicken sandwich was overcooked and had been under a warmer too long. Not impressed. Ordered the garlic Parmesan fries which didn't happen. We only finally got our order when we asked for our money back. The prices aren't bad if you get what you order and in a timely manner. Not impressed at all! It was nice to sit on the patio and listen to the music in the square. We wanted to give this place a second chance as our first visit was not the best. Wednesday evening ...6:00 pm. Seated outside and waited a very long time for food. We ordered after another table by us and got part of our total order ahead of them (mind you this was a 45 min wait for even that). I guess when music bingo is happening inside (which we didn't know), don't plan on eating. Ridiculous. Our food was not priority. Tables around us that ordered before us are leaving. Never even got their food. How we got some of ours is a mystery. We paid for what we ate and drank, but left unsatisfied. I feel bad for the waitress. She was nice, but I'm sure got screwed on tips. Arrived with a party of 5 and were seated outside. 3 Ordered cocktails but everyone ordered water. Cocktails arrived but no waters. 5 Minutes later 2 waters arrived but still missing 3, and so it goes. Food ordered and arrived but no silverware. Server was unresponsive so I went inside to retrieve our own but none was up front where it should be so I headed to the kitchen to get it for our table. Several other tables were also complaining about the same things to who we think was the manager but he was unresponsive as well. Just an overall bad experience. I walked in & stood at the hostess desk waiting to be seated.  There were at least 4 servers walking around pretending not to see someone was waiting to be seated. I was not aware it was open mike night.  The host was good, the others, not so much... I ordered the Ruben & a beer. The beer was served in a timely manner but the Ruben took at least 30 minutes to assemble. The corned beef in the Ruben looked like fried bologna, was tough & tasted worse. All in all, it was a bad experience. I couldn't finish the Ruben & had to leave because of the people screaming into the mike. My server, Linda was good. read more

The food quality has really gone down under new management.....only thing I will eat there is salad...let's face it, anyone can make a salad. Well, not a particularly great experience tonight. We set ourselves out on the patio since it was a pleasant night and the waitress said find a table that was clean. we saw they were busy so we ordered via there app on the menu since it said scan to order and pay here QR code. After about 20 min, we went in to the bar to ask for our drinks at least. They brought them out 5 minutes later. About 10 minutes after that, they brought out our dinner, the fries were cold and my wife's nacho order was supposed to be without jalapeños but guess what it had. Also it came out in white cartons. Their old menu is much better than the current one. Their service is extremely slow. I go there because I play trivia and we have to purchase food. We have had food come out after we were done playing. They need another person cooking on trivia nights, and maybe another waitress serving. read more

We were here on a Tuesday night, which is jam night. The band was pretty pathetic. They let people come up and sing and play their instruments, their abilities were below par. The band should be smarter about who they let play and sing and when they allow them to do so. Our waitress lost our tab and caused us to wait an extra 5 to 10 minutes because she couldn't find it. She knew what we ordered and she searched everywhere high and low for the check, but I don't see that it's right to make the customer wait because you don't know what you're doing. You can tell they are understaffed so we took that into consideration. Our bartender Amanda was great but she was being pulled multiple times to wait on patio tables. Here's were we started having issues. We ordered flatbread and a pork tenderloin sandwich. This took OVER 45 minutes (closer to an hour) to receive our food. AND it was not what we ordered, tried to order some shots and was told by the other bartender that Amanda would have to handle. Mind you Amanda is running outside every other minute. The other bartender did give us ourshots but we had to tell Amanda to add our shots to our bill. We were going to a show so time wasbecoming an issue. Got the bill and paid without really reviewing, shame on me. When I looked at the bill the next day I noticed they charged us $13 then $8.49 for 2 of our cocktails...mind you they were the exact same cocktail. Being a former bartender I completely understand being short staffed but there was no communication about how backed up the kitchen was, had we known we would have gone somewhere else. After nearly two hours waiting for our food we were so frustrated we left cash on the table for our drinks and walked out. I have eaten here twice. They are known for their fried chicken and IMO it really is great. You also know that it takes 20 minutes to get an order of fried chicken. They even tell you that. Yesterday we went back to Mccalls. Looking forward to their fried chicken. We got there at 6:20 The restaurant was not full. After waiting 20+ minutes without having a waitress even approach us, we left and went elsewhere. It was very disappointing to not even be offered a drink or menu within that timeframe. Sadly, I will rethink ever going there again. BTW they have entertainment every night except Wednesdays. I am reviewing their service on a Wednesday night. read more

They had great lunch specials and chicken.... not any more... new owners got rid of all that is good...no more lunch specials and the prices got hiked way up. Came here due to the rave reviews for their fried chicken. It did not disappoint. Husband said it was the best fried chicken he's ever had! The chicken dinner is 4 pieces of chicken with 2 sides for $13.99. The breading on the chicken was super yummy and the chicken came out hot and crispy. Just like we like it! We did the mashed potatoes and the corn medley. We shared the meal and added a side salad for $3.99. The corn medley wasn't what we thought. It also included black beans and red peppers. But it was good. We also had 2 beers for $3.50 each Our total bill was $27. Great meal and great deal! read more

My wife and I went to McCall's on a Friday evening. They were not very busy. Service was extremely slow. The waitresses were waiting tables in the restaurant and taking orders from bowlers at the adjoining bowling alley. We waited 45 minutes for our food after ordering. The waitress told us 3 times only a few more minutes. I had the turkey dinner. The turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing were about what you would get from a supermarket frozen food section. They have authentic Beef on Weck sandwiches here (Very hard to find outside western NY). It gets high marks just for that.
