Guess what the wine choices were? Red, white (Chardonnay), pink - ALL only by the horrendous $3/bottle Copper Ridge! Are you serious? How would you not offer at least one upscale choice as well? And, their "food" menu is an only an extension of the bar huts on the square plus movie theatre popcorn crap or Publux check-out choices. Villages family, we saw you on your little video touting the opening of this place in honor of the family matriarch. You have billions of dollars. You fit in private planes. You have Presidential candidates coming here for support. Do you actually like going out to places with crappy wine choices and bagged genetically modified food choices? You guys continue to disappoint at every turn. Each opportunity to make the Villages better fails on its face leaving the Villages in the dust for what younger sophisticated homeowners want in a neighborhood - unless you are catering to the Central Florida locals who love their fried gator bites. Spanish Springs now has 3 empty restaurant spaces, which is a travesty. The Villages needs to focus on all the vacancies in all the Squares and give us better options and choices to make us want to frequent your establishments versus driving away to experience normal life in 2024 at places that offer great wine, interesting food and fabulous vibes. Head to Tavares or Mount Dora instead.

Stopped into City Fire in The Villages and went with the spicy Italian sausage sandwich with kettle…read morechips. The sandwich definitely delivered on flavor -- good seasoning, nice kick of heat (a little spicier than I expected, but in a good way), and overall really enjoyable. The kettle chips were solid and paired well with it. Service, however, was a bit of a miss. It took a while for the food to come out, and once it did, we didn't see our server again until after everyone at the table was finished. No check-back, no refills, nothing -- which was disappointing. That said, I'd still come back for the food. Hopefully next visit the service matches what's coming out of the kitchen.

City Fire usually isn't my kind of place because it feels a little too "Sysco Foods corporate…read morechain" for my personal taste. Even the doggie containers say Sysco on them.. . I normally prefer more unique local spots with a little more personality. That being said... the short rib entrée was actually pretty good. In fact, I was SO hungry that I completely forgot to take a photo before eating it, which for an avid Yelper like myself is practically unheard of. Somewhere halfway through the meal I suddenly realized... wait... I never even took the picture. The short rib was tender, flavorful and comforting, and I pretty much inhaled the entire thing without thinking twice. Service was super friendly, the atmosphere was completely dead overall... however the genuine smiles from my waitress gave me warm fuzzies and made me realize .. you know .,, there are genuinely nice people out there.

I went to City Fire in Brownwood after dinner with friends, and unfortunately it was probably one…read moreof the worst bar-service experiences I've had in a long time. The biggest problem was simply a lack of attention to the customers. The staff seemed more interested in watching TV than noticing who needed service. At one point I approached someone working behind the bar and was told, "Oh, I'm not the bartender." Fair enough--he was apparently the barback, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But I shouldn't have to remind someone working behind the bar to get the bartender when a customer is clearly waiting for service. The whole operation just felt amateur and poorly managed. What makes it disappointing is that City Fire in Brownwood used to have a decent crowd and a good atmosphere. Tonight it felt almost like a ghost town, and after experiencing the service, I can understand why. I probably won't be going back unless they improve the staffing and service. There are too many other places in Brownwood where the bar staff actually pays attention to their customers.
