Prices are good, and the food is good. Service is slow because of lack of help. Mixed drinks are so so recommend.

Haven't visited Applebee's in a while, but I'm glad we decided to stop. I'm a sucker for the wonton tacos & my husband had the ribs, and they were fall off the bone delicious according to him! Service is very good and I'm sure we're going to start hitting this place again for the food because it was really good all the way around. read more

If Applebee's is in the midst of a turnaround, this restaurant hasn't gotten the memo. On a Sunday afternoon, the place wasn't packed; we had to wait 10 minutes for a table. A lot of open tables, guessing it's a staffing issue. I feel like Applebee's is trying with the menu improvements and drink improvements. Still, the location could prob use some management improvements and a kitchen staff training program, bc a Triple App and a chicken salad shouldn't take over 45 minutes to make when dining in. We also heard the phone ring off the hook, and a few times it went unanswered. The bartender seemed to be the only one knowledgeable and working. Our server kept telling us the food would be right out for 45 minutes.... Three different t times. Yikes. Once our food came out, it was tbh a little subpar, the chicken salad was lettuce-heavy & chicken-light. The Trio App was decent, but the boneless wings lacked sauce. I really dislike leaving bad reviews, but I have to in the hope that someone at Applebee's sees this and tries to reach out to correct these issues before a small town loses another restaurant bc of bad management. read more

After a few months I decided to give them another chance to see if things have changed. No. Had to wait at the front for who knows why. Many open tables, but waitresses not sitting people. Finally got a table and our party of five placed our drink orders. Four soft drinks and one beer. Drinks came but not the beer. Placed our order and waited half an hour to get the food. Waitress apologized and said they were short staffed in the kitchen. Food was good but we were tired of waiting and will wait a long before going back again. read more

Been a longtime customer, been noticing alot of issues, one they think the a/c is for the workers not paying customers and food that you get is usually wrong, some bartenders walk away and don't take care of people , also people get discussed on the wait and walk out , and usually floor is slippery, bathrooms not served read more

I was in the ER yesterday from food poisoning after eating a chicken fajita roll up from this restaurant!

I was here 04-06-25 and 04-09-25. On 04-06-25 I sat down in a 80% empty restaurant and no one came to my table for 10 minutes, so I left. On 04-09-25 I sat at the bar (so in theory it's impossible not to notice me). This helped get service...sorta. I ordered dinner and waited over 30 minutes. Literally three other people came after me, ordered, and received their food before me. I reminded bar tender about my order. She went back and got my dinner. I will be returning to Springfield (business). I will not be returning to Applebees. read more

We waited for ro minutes to get a seat they didn't have help and on my 2 sections were open after we got seated they took our order right away and they it took another 30 minutes to get our food.. the food was hot and good. They didn't have staff to refill water glasses or drinks. Would not recommend until they have staff read more

This Applebee's is the reason why I have created this Yelp account in the first place. When you first walk in you may notice a stale stench in the air, eventually you'll see how absolutely disgusting the place is. I don't think the place has been updated since it was first built. The vinyl wood flooring is all torn up and you can almost not walk around it. The bathrooms were mediocre and made me feel as if I would fall ill just being in the room. The food though. . . The food. I ordered the shrimp taco bowl, (awful choice, I know,) Everything was cold and dry. The rice felt like I was eating sand. The shrimp were far from good for frozen standards. My grandfather, who accompanied me, ordered a standard burger with fries. The fries were also cold as well as limp. Our waitress was also the bartender for the evening. Once we were finished eating it felt as if we did not exist to her. She was on her phone a fair bit and it took her a solid twenty minutes after we finished to come give us our check. I would not touch this place with a ten-foot pole and do not imagine this place will be open for much longer. read more

Worst restaurant in town. I got the bourbon steak, I couldn't even taste the meat it taste like Cajun powder. It was absolutely awful. Service was great don't get me wrong but this isn't the first time I've came here and got bad food. This place is disgusting. Save your money, go to the store get your own meal and cook at home. Thank me later. read more

Love this place always friendly and the best food! The atmosphere everyone makes you feel like you are family.

Warm, tasty, and delicious mozzarella sticks. Sports on their 10 plus TV sets. Somewhat pricey on certain menu items, but fair on many enteees. Friendly bar keep the last Saturday I ate there! read more

Persistent low staffing levels lead to long waits even when the restaurant is mostly empty. If the wait wasn't bad enough the cleanliness of the location also suffers. What stinks is we don't really ever get a bad meal from this location it is just impossible to get a table. read more

This location is a convenient meeting point. The restaurant isn't very clean. The service is pretty good. Our waitress was Emma and she was very attentive. The food however is not the best. I had the Tipsy Zombie($6), the Happy Hour Boneless Wings($6), and the Loaded Waffle Fries ($8.49). The drink was the only thing that taste good. read more

Don't order any meat dishes here unless you want a horrible dinner. Three times I've order 3 different cuts of meat and they are tough, loaded with Gristle, horrible sauce (on ribs and not enough sauce and never cooked properly. If you want tender, juicy steak I recommend you go to Texas Roadhouse. read more

I worked here about 6 years ago and angel the GM by far the worst job I have ever had she had a "friend" come in and play manager one day and I was scheduled for the morning and was supposed to get off at like 3pm and my replacement never showed up and her "friend" threatened my job if I didn't take the double so I did. The next day I came into work angel was back I get called into the office with the "friend" and she's yelling at me remind you I was 16-17 years old one of my first jobs and the "friend" sitting in the back of the office threatening to hit me while angel was defending him when I was standing up for myself saying "don't speak to my manger like that" all because I let him know that day I wasn't happy with my job being threatened if I didn't take a shift I didn't want, i ended up walked out and quit if you value your time and mental health completely avoid this place all together the kitchen is disgusting and the management is disrespectful AVOID THIS PLACE. read more

My wife and I haven't been to the local Applebee's in quite a long time. So tonight we thought we'd give it a try. Pulling into the parking, I didnt see an excessive amount of cars in the parkIng lot and thought we would get seated right away. The manager took our name and we waited along with 4-5 other couples. I looked around and saw empty tables, but thought they must be short staffed. We were seated after approximately 5-10 minutes. Ok, great! As we waited we checked out the menu, and if your an Applebee's fan, I'm sure there are items you'd find on the menu that you'd like. Me not so much. We waited 5-10 again for the waitress to arrive and take our drink order. I asked if they had any Craft Beer. She said, "I don't know what that is", so I ordered a Miller Lite. We also order an appetizer. My wife's received her soda right away, but I'm sitting with nothing so far. My wife decided to order a cocktail. 10 minutes go by and she asked if we were ready to order. I said I hadn't received my beer yet. She glanced at the bar and said it's not up yet. We were sitting right in front of the bar. How long does it take to open a bottle and drop it off to a table? She took our order and a few minutes later brought my beer and my wife's drink. 15 from the time we're seated we get the appetizer. Over 30 minutes after we arrive, our food is delivered, which I could understand if they were busy, but they weren't. Everyone was moving around at a leisurely pace. It was obvious they were short staffed, which would make me think people would be moving a little quicker to provide quick service. We received our food. My wife had ordered a taco salad. I ordered fish and chips. Her tortilla shell salad bowl was cold, greasy, like it was day old, or at the very least, several hours old. The ground beef in the salad was cold as well. I asked my wife if she wanted to send it back, and she said no. She thought if she could get some WARM taco chips, she'd be fine. When the waitress arrived to ask how our meal was, we told her about the shell and the beef and asked the waitress for some warm taco chips. She said she'd talk to her boss. A few minutes later she stopped by say the chips were coming, but by that time it was TOO late. She apologized. I asked for the manager. Again, a few minutes later he arrived, and I explained. He was very gracious and comped both our meals, which I wasn't expecting. It just seemed from the time we arrived, till the time we left, there was no urgency to serve the customer. We used to eat here a lot; and now I remember why we haven't. Thank you for the comp's, but provide better service in the first place. Also, just so you know, my wife put herself through college waiting tables. We still left a 20% tip, because we know waitresses don't make a ton of money except for tips read more

negative stars, if permitted! My crew of 7 stopped in for dinner tonight and my Meal was NOT delivered with everyone else's. The server was confused as the kitchen staff insisted it was sent out. When the manager FINALLY made the time to address our table, there was no apology, but rather an indirect accusation that we received it! Then stated that since I had them make it, there should not have been a full compensation for my part of the bill. Mind you, this was teceived once everyone else had completely finished eating. Disappointed in how this was handled and can promise you we will not be returning to this location- ever. read more

Tonight myself and my adult kids went for dinner. I arrived early and ordered appetizers so they would be ready when they arrived. They arrived 10 minutes later and still no apps..another 15 and still no apps , but then here comes our entrees to the table skipping apps and salads. I'm like quite upset at this point. Manager comes over and blames new fry cook...She still trying to leave the entrees. She gave me attitude and was quite unprofessional when l suggested she take back the entrees and go help the new cook catch up. Also when most places take a miltarydiscou t they discount the entire meal , not just one entree.... l am an ACF Certified Chef and former restuarant manager and was disgusted by this horrible experience .. l will not be back to this location.. ever... read more

Applebee's Grill + Bar - The measly discount after our horrible experience.... - American Near Me - Springfield, Ohio

When we were first seated it took 20 minutes before our drink order was taken. We made a HUGE mistake when the hosted brought our drinks to us and we asked what the specials were tonight, she laughed and said "I have no clue I'm the hostess" ad walked off. Service is very slow we received our food 1 hour and 33 minutes after ordering We stopped coming here years ago because of the service and thought we would try again after 7 years of avoiding this place. We might come back in another 7 years to see if they have sped up at all. read more

I've been going to this place for a few months now and very time they disappoint. Staff rude and they ignore you when your ready to order an when your finally ready to order seems like your are bothering them.(Food) Waiting for an hour to hour an a half to get food and when you finally get food it's warm/cold. Can tell it's been sitting under a heat lamp for 35mins. Not impressed. Noted to never go there again. read more

Used to come here frequently. Last few visits have not been good. Slow staff, always issues with getting beer on tap. Either they are out or it is not working at all. The food is average, not what it used to be. read more

Went to Applebee's, ordered the whiskey bbq burger, well done, (after waiting almost 15 minutes to be waited on) and asked for Swiss cheese in place of pepper jack cheese. We had our drinks brought to us, and then was basically ignored for next 10 minutes When the burgers (my wife and I ordered the exact same thing), came out, the fries were not warm at all, the pepper jack cheese was left on with one piece of Swiss added ( both were same way) and mine was on the rare side, we got the waitresses attention and told her the problem. She said she would take care of it. Now our burgers were about 1/2 inch thick, the first time, and when they came out the second time, they were barely 1/4 inch. Apparently they decided instead of cooking them longer, they were made thinner (definitely not the same size as first) and again, pepper jack was still on mine with two pieces of Swiss cheese on top. Not a very pleasant evening, would not recommend this place to my enemies! And that wa and is the last time we will patronize this restaurant! Not just because of this meal, but the last three times we were ther, we had puss poke service and poor quality food! Don't waste your time, unless all you're doing is drinking! read more

Need to speed up their service. I was by myself and only ordered a side salad and a basket of wings and it took almost 20 mins to get my food. Saw at least one person who ordered after me get their food before me. That is backwards. Probably won't be back because of the slow service and the fact that the music was just way to loud. I understand the that they are a bar & grill, but it was still to loud. read more

Two evenings in a row, Carside To Go left us eating somewhere else. I called in an order and was told that, due to them being busy, the wait would be 25 minutes. Got there after 25 minutes. Left there after 20 more minutes with no food. The next evening, we ordered online and were told it would be ready in 25 minutes. Got there after 25 minutes. After almost an hour - with part of that spent trying to get the refund we deserved because they hadn't started making our food yet - we, again, went somewhere else. We cannot comment on the food because, well, we didn't get any. read more

I remember when Applebees opened in Springfield. Yeah, it was a big deal. We were all excited. Springfield was growing, a frontier just realizing her possibilities... ha. Well, not exactly, but this restaurant really kick started all the development over in that area... even if it is a chain. My school bus used to go out through the area and it was all cornfields, now it's all box store sprawl. The food is decent. And they have half price appetizers after 10 PM, perfect for groups of people. It's not the best place in the world, but hey, whatever, it's good for a late night hang in Springfield when everything else is closed? read more

Food is good with the right cook but that is when your actually able to get in the building. The staff closes everyday wayyyy before the actual closing time. We already have limited options to dinning in Springfield. Maybe update your hours if you want to close earlier than listed. Just so people don't waste their time driving to your location. It's disappointing and unprofessional. read more

Hadn't been to the local Applebee's in five years, so the family went out because we had a gift card. The service was super slow. I'm almost embarrassed to give this place 4 stars, I mean, it's freaking Applebee's right? I eat here because work puts me up in a nearby hotel so I can walk here. I came here last month and had a Parmesan/ Shrimp Sirloin, it was cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, overall great. I'm still floored by it because, it's freaking Applebee's right? Tonight I had Bourbon Street shrimp and chicken, also amazing! What is going on here? It's freaking Applebee's, right? The service isn't horrible, they're never busy so not much is slowing down the server from being quick with service. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'll probably be back! Found black kinky pubic like hair in the fries we didn't order. Tortillas were microwaved so long that they were inedible. Took several minutes to correct this. This has to be the filthiest restaurant I've ever been to. The table was dirty as well as the booth and the floor. If my family members weren't so hungry I would of gladly left. Even though it was filthy the waitstaff was amazing. Our waitress was in training and even though she was a bit flustered she made no mistakes she was polite and courteous. Her trainer who was shadowing her was polite as well. The food was decent nothing too spectacular, but made to our liking.
