A beer and "Pamela Anderson" drink

If you like old arcade games and having a drink or two, then this place is for you. The games are free as long as you purchase a drink. They have a good selection of drinks to choose from. The parking can be a little bit of a challenge as it can be for any place located in downtown. I highly recommend stopping by one of the many restaurants located within walking distance of this place while your downtown.

Staff and services: Came here for a date night with my boyfriend and the employees were amazingly friendly. Their speed of service was fast. It took them no time at all to get us our drinks and there were a lot people here to. They are very attentive. Drink Menu: The drink menu is awesome and very creative I absolutely love it. The first drink I ordered the 16 bit and it came in this awesome collectable cup that I got to keep which is awesome. My boyfriend got an angry orchard tall boy off the draft and it was really good. Throughout the evening I ordered a few more mixed drinks and they did not disappoint. They were made beautifully and correctly and they tasted amazing. Will definitely be coming back for more drinks. Games: You could not ask for a better selection of old school retro games to play, it's amazing how many games there are to choose from. I played every game at least twice and had an absolute blast doing so. This is the perfect place for us gamer nerds to come and have fun with other people. Prices: You buy any drink and you play games for free you can't have better pricing than that. The drinks are reasonably priced especially the mixed drinks that are so creatively thought out and put together. There is nothing better than having a few drinks and playing old school games. I will recommend this place to everyone I know and everyone who reads this review. If ypu love old school games and great drinks this is the place for you. .

Ayeeee Frans welcome to another yelp post!!!! Soo I decided to enjoy the nice warm weather today and visit this Arcade Bar in downtown Columbus. Order: Lisa Frank & Jack n Coke Pros: Love that the games are free with a purchase of an adult beverage!!!! The drinks are not expensive so this is a major plus!!! They have a lot of nostalgic video games that you can play. I also love that they have video games hooked up to the tvs. This is so dope!! I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Also, for this to be a bar they had really clean bathrooms! Not sure if this a one off but it was definitely noticeable. I always enjoy my Jack n Coke. Cons: I kept loosing lol! The Lisa Frank was a little to sweet for my taste buds. I always like to try something unique at every place I visit. So this is more about my taste and not indicative of the establishment. You should try it though!!

The first really cool thing you see and you're not even inside 16 bit yet, is the amazing mural of Donkey Kong on the outside of the building. there's another great projecting sign of a Space Invader on the front of the building too. This super cool place post a full bar set up, but the real amazing highlight are all the old-school arcade games - the kind of stuff that I shoveled quarter after quarter into when I was a kid. It's all here and it's all magnificent if you like the original kind of arcade games this is the place to be definitely. Really fun to come here with a group to hang out and there's always something to do if the conversation gets stale.

As someone who does not drink, I absolutely love this bar. I first visited years ago when I was in town for a wedding and I was happy to see that they are still in business! They have an awesome selection of old games, including and N64 and an old Playstation. You could seriously come here every night for a year and have a different experience every time. My only complain is that they need to fix the joystick on Galaga machine - but I'm sure they already know that ;-) If you are a resident of Columbus or just passing through like we were, you must visit this place. It's easy to get to from both the Short North and German village so you have no excuses! This would also be a fun first date idea...

Great place to hang out! I like drinking and playing in the arcade area. I try to visit every time I come to town, my favorite drink is "Kevin Bacon", it's just delicious! Bartenders are friendly.

The Hulk Hogan! It's my favorite drink and we have even started making them at home! Bomb pop, blueberry vodka, and lemonade!

I love 16-Bit! The entire atmosphere is super fun! I mean who doesn't enjoy playing free arcade games while sipping on some adult beverages? My hubby and I have been coming here since the place opened and we bring out of town friends here whenever we get the chance. My favorite drink is the Hulk Hogan! It's blueberry vodka and lemonade with a bomb pop dropped inside! Super yummy! My favorite games are PAC-MAN and Frogger. Lol. Not a huge gamer, but love those "old-school" games! There are two reasons why I had to knock a star off from this review. 1. The restrooms. Only one restroom per male/female. This place stays pretty busy so you're bound to have to wait in line whenever you need to use the restroom. Especially on the weekend. Last night (a Thursday night), I had to wait behind two women so I ended up running into the men's after my husband was finished. 2. It can take a while for the bartenders to get to you. The bar area stays packed so it's a little hard to squeeze in to get the bartenders attention. Other than those two minor things, we always have a great time and will continue to come and bring our friends!

Best place to take your kids on a lazy Sunday. All games are free, you get a beer, everybody wins. Pinball machines are the only games that required money, everything else was no-pay. A few games I was digging; Burger Time, Super Mario Brothers, WWF, and Operation Wolf. The kids enjoined Paperboy (which I found extremely difficult to play) and any game involving a gun. There was defiantly a game void I felt; no Rampage, Contra, or Pitfall. The list is actually longer, but I feel like at least *one* of these three classics should be at any arcade, anywhere. Oddly enough there was a Budweiser-sponsored game called Tapper. There were slushees for the kids and beers on tap for Mom + Dad. They have a super fun drink menu, (pics attached) but I stuck to a beer on tap. The service was good, the place wasn't obnoxiously crowded for a kids okay free Sunday and we had a good time. The restrooms were clean and had chalk walls you could write on. This is definitely a place that's in out list for rainy days and a break from monotony.

    Drinks anyone?

A fun bar to go to after dinner in the downtown area. The drink names are fun and taste good. 16-Bit has free video games to play spread out throughout the bar. They have some pinball machines but those cost money. It would be nice if the pinball was free. 16-Bit is a good place to go with a couple of friends, grab some drinks, and let your competitive side out with a few arcade games.

This place was so cute. My boyfriend and I stopped in while we were in Columbus as we saw the good reviews and were staying in a hotel fairly close by. It was a Thursday around 11:30 pm or so and the bar was very quiet but not entirely dead. We were impressed with the creative drink menu - most drinks involved some sort of candy or other consumables. The one I ordered was a vodka-based drink that incorporated pop rocks sprinkled on top and made audible popping sounds as I drank. My boyfriend ordered one of their spiked slushees. Drinks were super cheap - I believe all cocktails were $8, and fairly strong. The whole bar's perimeter is comprised of vintage arcade games like Frogger, Pac-Man, etc. All of them are free to play with the exception of the pinball machines, which charge a nominal 50 cents to play. There were plenty of "shelves" next to the games so that you could rest your drink. Bartender was super sweet. My only complaint with this place was that it was supposed to close at 2:30 and they had last call shortly after midnight because it was slow...I understand completely, it's just not something that I've ever seen in NYC where most bars stay open until 4 rain or shine, hell or high water. All in all, would definitely return if I'm ever back in Columbus!

My idea of a perfect date night includes old school games, cocktails and pizza which makes this a triple play! The service is great with super fun cocktails and pizza from Late Night Slice a couple doors down is welcome. Laugh the night away playing your favorite arcade games.

All free as long as you're drinking!

Only popped in for about an hour, but had a real good time. This was Friday, around 6pm. Happy hour lasted until 7, so we enjoyed $2 off beers (a $6 beer became $4). For someone visiting from NY like I was, this was a treat. A $4 beer and the opportunity to play free arcade games is comparable to about a $25 night at Barcade in NYC ($9 beer plus $1 or more every time you want to play a game). I gladly paid the $1 to play Metallica pinball, as every arcade, N64, Sega and SNES game is free, but pinball costs a buck. The bartender, whose name I didn't get (maybe 27 years old, brunette male with some facial hair) was really nice and helpful with the beer list. My only complaint is that, as an outsider, I wish they had more local Columbus beers on tap, but other than that, great place.

    Dining and games

A bunch of friends and I invaded after a Sunday night Blue Jackets game and had a great post game experience. The atmosphere is super nostalgic and the drinks were awesome.

My girlfriend, Nakarys, loved 16-bit! They don't have these Venezuela yet :)

Are kids allowed on a Saturday afternoon?

Hi Kristen! Our downtown Columbus location is 21+ at all times EXCEPT for Shorty Sunday's where we allow all ages until 5pm. Our Dublin location does allow all ages every day until 8pm. Hope to see you soon!

Do they allow 18 year olds?

I've seen kids there with their parents on a Sunday afternoon.

Is there an age limit here? or restricted times?

In the summer, they allow kids from noon-5 on Sundays

It's so creative, and the drinks are really the stellar stand out here. However, the atmosphere of those drinks is what gives me pause when thinking about coming back. The limited table situation, tiny cramped space, and loud music means that it doesn't feel particularly relaxing. People are constantly brushing up against you (even at 5PM), and holding a conversation at a normal distance is nearly impossible. NOTE: This place is covered in dust. No shade to the ownership as it doesn't appear to be anywhere near food prep areas (it's on the decor, on/around shelving, all over the faux plants, etc.), but if you're someone who's sensitive to dust, this is probably not a good fit. PROS: -I loooooooove how they've done their drink menu. As someone who is still exploring the potential of cocktails, their nerdy "chart" that places all of their drinks on a sweet/bitter and alcohol-forward/approachable visual chart is SUCH a help. As such, everything I ordered was absolutely amazing for me. I knew exactly what to expect from a drink because of its position on the chart, and it delivered. -Their drinks are really unique. Aqua faba? Fat washed alcohols? Lollipops or toasted marshmallows as garnishes? Super cool. Don't let some of the weirder descriptions creep you out of trying them. -All of their drinks were delicious. Everything I ordered was exactly as described. I often go places where the taste is barely related to its namesake, but they were entirely on-point here. CONS: -I'm not sure if someone called off that night as other reviewers are in love with the service, but our service was really really slow. No real rapport with the staff; just stating the name of a drink as they rushed past and then they were off to try to clean a table or take someone else's order. The drinks they made were great, but this isn't somewhere we'd go if we were in a hurry. -The pictures do not accurately convey how small this place is. Like, it's small. I'd guess less than 1000 square feet. My apartment is bigger by a lot. This isn't necessarily an issue, but it means people pile up quickly as they wait for seating (there's like 4/5 tables and then bar seating). The human walkways are small enough that the bartenders and other guests will brush against you a lot - even while seated. -I get the vibe they were going for here, but with the smaller space, I think a lot of the potential decor options had to "go" in order to fit more humans. It's giving me hardcore The Hearth Room (in Cincinnati) vibes, and I think it could honestly pull it off if it simply had more space. The "relaxed, sophisticated bourbon bar" doesn't quite come through as well when things are so focused on simply fitting in more bodies. -It's loud AF. Like, really, really loud. Between all the people and the blasting pop music, it required leaning into someone's ear in order to speak at normal volumes. We'd regularly have to pause the conversation if something in the music was building to a drop. This is not a place I'd take someone I wasn't very very comfortable with because it really requires being in someone's space to talk. -There's a single all-gender toilet here for everyone in the establishment. It's basically a revolving door of people in and out of it. The door auto-closes, however, so it's really difficult to figure out if it's open or not. There was usually a queue of people waiting in front of the door.

Cocktail vibe is more "laid-back friends talking over creative drinks" than sultry, romantic date spot. Tons of natural light means this cocktail bar has had some of my *favorite* cocktail bar photos I've ever taken. It's so pretty in here. NOTES: -During pop-ups, walk-ins are near-impossible on weekends and not likely on weekdays. Make a reservation if you want to make sure you'll have a spot. -No dedicated parking lot. 3-hour-limit free residential parking all around Law Bird, though. We generally have to walk 2 or 3 blocks from parking to Law Bird. Be aware this is German Village, and you're looking at cobblestone sidewalks for high heel and accessibility purposes. -Law Bird mostly has small party seating. If you have a larger group you want to seat during a pop-up, make SURE to get that reservation in early. They have the single 8-person table. -They have snackies and food. Portion sizes are small (despite what the prices may suggest), though, so this is not generally a place to eat a full meal. All of the food is super flavorful, though, so definitely a great snack to add on. PROS: -Keeping things fresh, they regularly host cute seasonal events, new drinks, and pop-up events. In recent memory, I know they've done a Cherry Blossom one, a Spooky Halloween one, and a Christmas one. -They go ALL OUT for their pop-ups. It isn't just a brand new, professionally-printed menu (no pieces of paper with 4 seasonal drinks here). It's also all of their interior decor, bathroom decorations, bartop decorations, and more. Ceiling decor too! They get all up in there. It's really fun to see the space transformed constantly. -Between the new menus and the constantly-new decorations of their space, I love regularly popping into Law Bird. -I LOVE the creativity of the menus, and I LOVE that they offer cocktail classes. (I haven't taken one yet, but I'm excited to!) The menu has unique drinks, served with unique garnishes. They have a few "sugar cocktails", but for the most part, Law Bird drinks tend to be complex and spirit-forward. -Their "themed" bathrooms (even with their own themed music playlists) make me happy. They have two unisex, single room restrooms. CONS: -If you come during a pop-up with a smaller group, they will enforce their reservation time limit of 1.5 hours. This isn't necessarily the end of the world, but the times when they enforce their limits is when they have more customers waiting - and tend to be when the place is at capacity. When they're at-capacity, the bar staff and service staff is a lot busier, with drink service taking longer and servers checking in a lot less. This means we usually only have had the chance to place 2 drink orders during that 1.5 hour time limit before they ask us to leave. This can be rough (to try most of the drinks on a limited time menu) unless you're sharing drinks with your tablemates. If you still want to continue your evening with your friends after that 1.5 hour limit, Antiques on High, Daily Growler, and Cobra are easily walkable from here. -During their pop-ups on weekends, time between placing a drink order and receiving the drink has usually been around 15 to 20 minutes. Not the end of the world as you get to socialize with friends, but again, with the time limit, that can be a bit rough.

That being said, upon opening the door we were told we couldn't come in without masks. Mine was in my pocket, no problem. I haven't left my home (in Tennessee) often enough since the beginning of the virus for it to become habit to automatically put on a mask when I get out of my vehicle. But 9/10 times I remember before entering a public place. The male bartender just seemed rude in the way he told us to put one one. I had read the raving reviews, and being a Yelp Elite myself I know I can and do trust their reviews above others. So....I was really looking forward to trying something new and enjoy watching a bartender do their thing. The bartender pointed to two framed menus on top of a cooler containing seltzer's and canned drinks, and some glass bottles of pre-made cocktails, I think. I would've appreciated the bartender ask me what I liked, and help me decide, but it was easier for him to point to the sign. Customer service absolutely sucked hippo balls. I asked if I could just order a Knob Creek and Coke in a short glass, and a Blanton's for my hubs. Sure!! What I got was a shot of each in a to-go plastic condiment container with a lid, and two big paper go cups (like Burger King) of ice, and a can of Coke, which I told him never mind I had a soda in the truck. We also got two bags of Cheeto's, to make the sale legal. So....we poured our bourbons over the ice in the paper cups. I drank a few sips of mine, yum, even in paper. My husband was just about to take a sip and noticed something stuck in his ice that looked just like a maggot. He walked back across the street and told/showed the bartender, who vehemently denied it came from the ice because it was a brand new bag. Then I noticed 3 of the maggot looking things in my ice, so I went back in and showed my husband and then the bartender. He told my husband it was probably from the citrus he was cutting on a board near the ice bin. They were frozen INSIDE the ice cubes. I'm upset with myself that I didn't take a picture of it, it was gross. I'm upset that a bartender would try to make it seem like it was nothing. After seeing it all in my ice my husband just asked for our money back, and the bartender said, "But I've already poured another." Ummm, sorry, but no thank you. He did give the refund, but I most assuredly won't give them a second chance when I visit Columbus.
