This was probably one of my worst visits to Applebee's. Went for a quick bite as it was close by and had a special which we had just missed out on that seemed good. We did partake in a different special which was two meals and app for $25. There were limited entree choices so we opted for the upcharge meals which was fine. We got there early and dining room was empty which was nice though meals took over 45 minutes to come out. My Entree was overcooked and was not as I ordered. Server was MIA and took awhile to get her attention that there was a problem. Again the long wait.... my dining partner had long since finished their meal and I am still waiting again wait staff was MIA so go to hostess stand for help. Manager does come over but proceeds to tell me they are short handed and my rare steak can still take awhile... mind you at this point we had been at the restaurant almost two hours and I still had not received my meal with the correct sides. Steak came out and this time was worse than the first steak and was well done. I asked for no seasoning/pepper and steak was coated in it. Needless to say I opted not to wait on a third attempt and we asked for our check and left. Definitely not the service or meal we expected. read more

I used to really like this Applebee's. For a chain, the prices were fair, the food was decent, and it was an easy go-to spot. Then COVID hit... and things definitely changed. Prices have gone way up, but the food hasn't followed. It feels more like reheated, frozen meals now, and it's hard to justify what you're paying for what you get. On top of that, wait times have gotten pretty long, even when it doesn't seem overly busy. That said... I never thought I'd complain about this, but the drinks are so strong I almost forget what I came there to review Not necessarily a bad problem to have, but it's about the only thing that still stands out. I don't hate it, but it's not what it used to be. There are better options for the price these days. read more

I enjoy the fettuccine chicken Alfredo here usually it's really good tonight Nope The broccoli wasnt cooked and it was cold. You might say well it was delivered No, I've had it delivered before and it was still hot/warm. Also I ordered kids tacos not bad but the tomatoes were bad , spoiled So not good there since kids are eating them. Usually everything is consistently good. Tonight not so much. read more

Food is alright staff is very rude and mad at there job so they take it out on customers.

Been to many ABs in my time, most just average. Was in town for 2 weeks and the wife and I ate and drank beverages...unbelievable service, great food and an awesome atmosphere. Great job!!! Don't forget to tip the staff! read more

My friend and I placed an order for curbside pickup for a kids chicken tender mean, mozzarella sticks, and a bourbon chicken plate. The app had told us to be there at 6:18 PM, we arrived early, got into a parking spot and waited over half an hour for our food. read more

Terrible service, family and I were seated at 12:15pm, ordered by 12:30pm. We didn't get our food till 1:50pm. Absolutely will never come here again, it's been going downhill for years but this is ridiculous. If the place was crowded I would understand, but there is less then 20 people here. read more

HORRIBLE. Waited for an hour for queso and chips and when we inquired with the manager, he could barely respond with a pigheaded snort, "Ya know, you're not the only table in here." (There were 3 other tables, not exactly busy.) So we waited some more and not only were the chips stale, the queso was ice cold. It was actually disgusting and though we were famished, we couldn't even eat it. Look, I know we're in an Applebees. We're caught in a moment of desperation on a Tuesday after 9pm and this was a beacon of hope in a city of closed eatery's. The wait staff was actually really sweet but horribly mismanaged. Go across the street to the Ale House and get a pizza if you need something to eat late night. read more

This place is one of the cleanest Apple Bees I've been too. The service was excellent and the food is actually presentable. Our waitress was very attentive. We went on a Monday afternoon for a party of 11 and they were quick to seat us. They brought all the food out together which I loved. The drinks were presentable as well. Delicious. read more

Stopped by for a quick bite. I was traveling for work and I had a great experience. Jeremy the bartender was very cordial and made everyone feel like they were at home. The food was great and the restaurant was very clean and lively. Great place to stop by if you are in the area. read more

Food was good and so was the service. My grandma complained that it was too cold inside. And the men's bathroom had no toilet paper.

Boneless Buffalo chicken wings were seasoned nicely. Spinach artichoke dip always a go to.

My husband and I came here on date night because we are truly "fancy like Apple bees on a date night", don't get me wrong I'm a huge Walker Hayes fan way before TikTok fame of this song... because my husband and I were in Rome, we decided we'd come here for an hour and chill. I really don't understand why the food is so bad. We ordered the new cheese bites and they were so gross, we took them home and my 11 year old, who loves cheese and salty food, wouldn't eat them. The cheese bites were so salty and the oil they are fried in is so disgusting. They were dripping in toxic vegetable oil. Why not use quality peanut oil? We also ordered the club sandwich and fries. The bread was barely toasted, it was super soggy after drenched in the dressing that was put on it. I recommend seriously toasting the bread. And the fries were way too salty. I know salty is the Rome way but my husband who is from Rome thought it was way over done on the cheese bites and fries. With all the publicity Applebees is getting, management should take this opportunity to make Applebees amazing!! read more

I used to go to this place but they started rushing, not even going to mention we payed 15 dollars for an undercooked burger. The sirloin was almost all bristle and inedible. The 3 of us had two drinks for person and it came to $24 on the drinks alone. The waiters, bartenders, and scenery are the only redeemable things about this shithole. read more

Food is always cold, servers are good but at times awful then the manager is very very rude.

Category: Casual Dining The service here, for a franchise, is top notch. I took some time to talk to the staff as well as the owner one day and came to the conclusion that this establishment is more than just another franchise - a lot of care and effort has gone into getting everything right. Meals are traditional American Fare with some Californian and Tex-Mex highlights in the way of rollups, creative burgers, and grilled fajitas. Conveniently located as well. *All of CJ's reviews fall into three categories - Fine Dining, Casual Dining, or Takeout. To give fair consideration to all types of restaurants one must not consider the same judging factors in any of these three categories. For fine dining the ambiance is lent greater weight, while for takeout a majority of the weight is placed upon taste and convenience. read more

Ordered ahead online for pick up. Food was good they got my order right love the curbside pick up

On-line ordering process was easy, even when I wanted to customize it. When I got there to pick up, there was an actual person to greet me at my car. Friendly and helpful when I asked for ketchup and salt. Food was tasty and still warm when I got it back the to hotel. Only issue--no plastic utensils or napkins. This was a problem since we did not have access to any and I was not in the mood to drive the three miles back to the restaurant. Note to self--check order before leaving next time. read more

Tex-Mex shrimp Bowl was disgusting. We've eaten here on occasion over the years, never was anything super fantastic, but it's chain food, so we knew what we were getting. Tonight, I took my youngest 2 kids on a "date" and we decided on Applebee's. I ordered my daughter's food for her (cheeseburgers off the kids menu, no buns, with fries. She can't have wheat, so this was an easy fix). I ordered the Stout Beer Chicken (one of my favorites), and my son ordered the kid's steak with fries. Our server, Lester, came back out and asked if she had a gluten allergy, I said yes, and he apologized that they had put her burgers on buns accidentally and they would remake them. He also said that the fries could be cross-contaminated, to which I replied that was not an issue, her allergy isn't anaphylactic and cross contamination isn't an issue for fries, she just can't eat the bread etc. He was super cool and I thanked him for being so attentive to her needs. When our food came out I helped the kids first, and then returned to my meal. My chicken was completely burned. I called my server back over and let him know that it was burned. He offered me a refund or new meal, I asked for another, but to go as the kids would be done before it came out, and at 5 and 7, I wouldn't expect them to sit for an extra 20-30 minutes. He apologized profusely, and the manager also came to the table and apologized and explained what had happened in the kitchen. She said that she would take care of it. I thanked her and the kids finished up. Lester brought out my new meal, and asked me to verify that it was ok before he packaged it up, and got it ready to go for me. We got our check, and I was shocked to see that the manager had 100% comped my meal, I didn't expect that, and it was very kind. I expected dinner to be about $40, and even with tax it came to just less than $22. I was more than happy to leave the full $40 I planned to pay, and left a thank you (in kids crayon LOL) for Lester. He earned it. He is a fantastic server, and was so kind to the kids, coming to their level to let them order, and being attentive to us. Very pleased. read more

It took 1 hour for this nasty greasy food to show up and it tasted terrible. I would not recommend this to anyone there are just some many better options. read more

Food was as is expected, average to good. It is what it is. The reason for my score is the service. I ordered curbside pickup within the curbside pickup hours and proceeded to wait 10 minutes sitting directly outside the curbside pickup door. I was the only car on the designated parking as well so being busy is not an excuse in my opinion. To top it off when I went inside to pick up my order and let the employees know I had been outside waiting I didn't even receive an apology. In the future I will let those who ask me about this establishment that they should spend there money elsewhere read more

This is an Applebees. You know what you're getting for the most part. But I've been to three really bad Applebees recently (life) but this was one of the better ones in a long time! The breakfast burger was good and the usual staples were done better than the last few I have been to! read more

3.5 stars Yay, they serve fried haddock! I'm always eager to get my fill of haddock whenever I visit the East Coast, as on the West Coast we tend to get cod instead of haddock. The fried haddock was crispy, hearty, and hugely portioned and while the fries weren't anything extra special, they were really good. Service was friendly and efficient. I didn't find a lot of dining options in Rome, so surprisingly I found Applebees to be a good option. read more

I'm over everything this location is. Enought problems with Grubhub(addressed separately), but for the god`s sake if you have to 86 something, tell the customers. Also, the lime chicken nachos were chips with scraps of chicken, no where near a propper nacho. I understand the supply and labor issues in this country right now, but if you're peddling scraps, just say it. It wasnt anywhere near food. Im not angry at the staff, thers only so much they can control, especially give the current circumstances. But please, stop telling your customers you can make or satify orders when you cant. Id rather be declined an order han grossly dissapointed. read more

This is a good place for a decent meal for a good price. We do take out quite a bit. I have cancer and don't get out much. Their 2 for $20 meals are a great deal. My only real complaint is that the well done burgers are not well done. They are pink in the middle. I've even asked that when they think it's done give it a few more minutes. Burn it if you have to. Still I get pink. I don't eat pink burgers so I only get to eat the outside of my burger. I've stopped ordering burgers. read more

Applebee's Grill + Bar - this is my poop - Sports Bars Near Me - Rome, New York

I work close by and spontaneously wanted to stop in for a cold beer and a hot meal. The hostesses were very friendly and I requested to sit at the bar. The bartender was very nice and greeted me promptly. I was immediately served my cold beverage and I knew what I wanted, so I ordered the 4 cheese, Mac and cheese. The wait time was not horrible however upon receiving my meal I could not tell what was colder my beverage or my meal. The sauce was poured on only a quarter of the noodles and they were by no means warm. I requested they be warmed up, there was no apology and the wait took twice as long this time around. If I wanted a meal that was zapped in a microwave I could have done so at home for a fraction of the cost. I would never request a discount in price, because I feel this reflects poorly on character. However this incompetence was very blatantly shown. I do not blame the bartender/waitress however this does reflect very poorly on the management (which I saw none of during the entire visit) and the cooking crew. I will return again in hopes of better food next time around, don't let me down. read more
