The food is always decent, that's no issue. The server was nice enough and we got our food and drinks quickly. However, the photos of the food and drink did not match what we received in any way. Bit disappointing to order a fun bright pink drink with gold sugar rim and just get a dull vaguely pink drink, no rim. The drinks are also very watered down, which is probably not surprising for Applebees. read more

Service was terrible. Our server Sara didn't show any good service while our time here. There were many times when we had to flag her down to order more drinks and also order more from the kiosk at the tables. We weren't checked up on as often as other tables were in our section. Me and my friends were still enjoying our drinks and she immediately came to our table and handed us our receipts and told us to use the kiosk to pay and leave. As well, when she handed us our receipts, she didn't split our items evenly and blamed us that we had ordered a lot for her to remember who ordered what, when she could've came and asked us to double check that our payments were correct. While me and my friends were still trying to enjoy the remainder of our time trying to make the best of it, she took the kiosk from our table and handed it to other tables, mind you we were surround by lots of empty tables with kiosks. Sara's service could've been a lot better, and it felt like we didn't matter as customer here at Applebees. read more

Very terrible service and very poor food. I love Applebees and will not be returning.

We were staying at best western, just 3 min walk away. Ordered carry out. It was cooked and ready in 10 mins. We had queso and chips, chicken tortilla soup, and a southwest shrimp bowl. Bowl was excellent, soup was very good- queso was okay. Overall we were pleasantly surprised. The Applebees in our town is awful. The server was quick and friendly. Nice quick takeout experience. I've seen poor service in recent months And thought we never no what struggles someone else is having... Be kind Tonight I was kind Bit my tongue, smiled and watched/listened in disbelief... Rude, snarky, obscene best describes this bartender She was lead bartender Short dark haired gal running bar.... Stayed for 1 beer and left .. there are other places in which one can eat.... After multiple F bombs, talking across the bar to co worker bout the mic that was at hostess station when she worked there... Several other cuss words Zero stars should b an option! But rude, like wow rude... Asked if they a flavored vodka, nope (snarky tone) how bout captain and diet coke, nope, any clamto for red beer by chance? As she walked off she's say nope, and let me know if you decide you want something we do have... Snarky lil tone... While there I heard her drop multiple cuss words talked about customers leaving their room keys to screw later, it just derailed once we sat down... My favorite part .. set my 100$ bill down, she walks up and says. "You need change" I smiled and nodded yes... She got a 0.40 tip Her service wasn't worth . 40 but that's what I felt compelled to leave Local guy named Dave kept looking at her and shaking his head in disbelief...until she turned her attention towards him, poured him another beer sets in front of him and says, I'd ya I get ya too drunk just sleep in your truck Never once NEVEE once did she check back on us....until she saw the $ on bar top... Ordered a Caesar salad with a side of tomato basil soup for curbside to go. I got home and was appalled to discover such a small serving. I poured it into an 8 once measuring cup and it appears to be only 4 ounces (See pictures). It cost $3.99, which is $1.00 per ounce. What's even worse, my granddaughter had the soup (same size but not as a side order) and it cost $5.29 which is a whopping $1.32 per ounce! I called and spoke with a manager and he was very apologetic but he also confirmed that the standard serving size is 6 ounces. Even if we had not been shorted, the soup is way too expensive for such a small serving. The manager was very polite and agreed to provide more soup and even threw in a dessert for my troubles. It seems like the pricing is a corporate issue and Applebee's should be ashamed for charging such exorbitant prices for such mall portions. read more

Had the appetizer combo. It was good. Only thing, there was way too much salt in the spinach dip. When combined with salty tortilla chips, the salt taste was off the charts. And not in a good way. Either cut back in the dip or serve it with salt free chips. And the chicken quesadillas might be better with shredded chicken instead of chopped. read more

Dear Applebee's, we used to be great friends. I would even go so far as saying lovers. We loved each other, cared for each other, everything was going great. Now, I feel like we are an old couple growing apart more and more each time we get together. We try to make it work...but it's not me, it's you. I still give the same if not more then in the past. Yes, your disappointing experience has got even more costly then before. With more cost comes less joy and less delicious food. I hate to say this but we are over. I have eaten at Applebee's in various cities and the food has always been good. This night I had my tastebuds wanting the fish and chips only to find they were out of that. I settled for the fried shrimp, and it was good. There was more food on my plate than I could eat. I also had the chicken tortilla soup...good but a bit spicy. I sat in the bar at one of the round tables and savored my cold beer. The waitress was very attentive, the food was good, no complaints....I will come back. read more

Hadn't been to an Applebee's since I was a kid before we moved to Pocatello. So pleasantly surprised! They have healthy options, making it easy to navigate food allergies and intolerances. We ordered a couple of medium steaks. They both came out well done. We mentioned it to the waitress and she offered to have two new steaks brought out. We declined, just because it's hard to send food back. I always feel bad doing that and we didn't really want to wait. But I also hate paying for food that is not good. Well the waitress let the manager know and he came over and offered again to bring new steaks out. We let him. It Kind of ruined that nights experience, as we didn't want to eat the sides by themselves and they became cold. But the manager brought out two complete plates with hot sides and steak cooked to the requested temp. We couldn't stay and eat, but I was very impressed with both the waitress and the manager for going the extra mile to make it right. You could tell they genuinely cared that we had a satisfactory experience and were happy with our food. That goes a long way! read more

Applebee's has always been kind of hit and miss for us, but the Pocatello one was really sub-par. We were greeted by the hostess with a command to "sit down on the bench and I'll get your table in a minute". She disappeared after a few minutes and we never saw her again. After about 10 minutes, another person, maybe the manager asked if we were waiting for a table. Umm, why else would we be sitting there? Our waitress, Shannah M. was prompt and attentive, but our steaks were terrible. I had the top sirloin and my husband had the ribeye. Shoe leather would have been more tender. Sigh, every so often we try an Applebee's again, only to be reminded why we shouldn't. For $50, we expected better. read more

Oh Applebee's... Why must you always disappoint? I just returned from the most horrendous experience of my life. First of all, we sit down and the table is set up with this tablet, equipped with a menu of games. I go to play a game and it wants to charge me two dollars for something I could do for no cost on my iPhone. Ridiculous. For my meal, I ordered chicken tenders, apple juice, and a shake. There are two types of milkshakes on the menu, but they are drastically different. Decadent shakes and Shorty shakes are the two options, and there are no pictures or explanations for either. The shorty shakes are more expensive and have what I could only describe as "more deluxe" flavors. Naturally, I order one, assuming it is a step up from your everyday shake. After receiving it... I think not. This is completely bogus! My chocolate nut brownie shorty shake is practically the size of a shot glass, and it has a bite size brownie on top. How can one charge more for less??? This is highway robbery! I think that it must taste pretty delicious to be this small and also more expensive. It doesn't. In fact, it is eerily similar to a normal Applebee's Oreo shake, which is really not good either. They both taste like someone poured milk and cream in a cup with Oreos and blended it up. Very unfortunate. To complete this review, I will touch on the actual meal. The chicken tenders weren't awful but were indeed overly breaded. But hey, at least the service was consistently great and speedy. Thanks waitresses, and screw you, shorty shakes. read more

I will never return to this Applebee's location. EVER. We came in with a large group last night, and the hostess, Shelby, was the absolute worst. She was so rude and disrespectful. Now, they were understandably busy, but Shelby treated us like garbage. As we walked in, she refused to seat us because we didn't have an exact number of people, although we told her we had 6-8 people. As we were still waiting on one or two people, we didn't have an exact number, and so she refused to place us on her list. Eventually, the last two people arrived and we told her the exact number. She then said, "We're not putting people's names down because the kitchen is so backed up." She told us the wait would be 25 minutes, which we were okay with. Just then, two other couples walked in behind us, and she happily greeted them and put their names down, but refused to write ours down. When we asked her if we could get placed on the list, she again told us that we couldn't be seated until the kitchen wasn't so backed up, even though they had plenty of open tables and were seating other couples. The way she handled the situation was just poor. We decided to leave 5 minutes later. Sorry, Applebees, but if you continue to employ hostesses like Shelby, who refuse to pull the stick out of their ass, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I have eaten at the local Applebee's numerous times over the past several years that I have lived in Pocatello, and no matter how many chances I give them, I personally prefer not to waste my money in their establishment anymore. The reason being, is that I can PROMISE you that will have 1 of 3 experiences: 1st: You will have an excellent server, but your food/drink order will be completely wrong, messed up, very unsatisfactory, etc. 2nd: Your server will be very unsatisfactory, and in fact, at times horrible, but your food/drink order will be satisfactory or decent. 3rd: Your server will be very unsatisfactory or horrible, AND your food/drink order will be completely wrong, messed up, very unsatisfactory, etc. My advice is to take your business elsewhere. This is a constant thing that never changes with them and is EXTREMELY bad for business. Otherwise, dine at your own risk... "Applebee's - There's BETTER Places Than THIS Neighborhood" read more

Tonight I realized Applebee's on the whole is an epic fail as a culture, not individually by location. I'm a huge Happy Hour Honk. Offer me cheap beer and food and I'll consume until my stomach is a fire hazard. You know, like my stomach is at maximum occupancy. The happy hour at Applebee's might as well be non-existent. $3.25 for domestic pints and 1/2 price on some apps is just alright based on food quality. The food quality is generally above par.....except for today. My hot buffalo wings were mild at best. Decent taste but not what I asked for. I also ordered an Oriental Chicken Wrap to go that actually tasted accurate and amazing. 1 out of 2 ain't bad I reckon. The service today was spot on. The server was very friendly and very attentive. It's because of her this location gets a 3 out of 5. I learned a very important lesson today....Don't go to Applebee's anymore. You will be disappointed in some way or another. Can't say I'll be back next time I'm in Pocatello but I can say for sure Applebee's is off my visit list. read more

First experience was really bad, but decided to give it a second chance. Ordered thru DoorDash. DoorDash is excellent, always 5 star service. So the food..my son and I each ordered a bowl of soup. He ordered the "basket of fries" and I ordered pretzels with beer cheese dip. Shouldn't be able to mess that up. Each cup of soup was in a 1 measuring cup sized dish...they were each half full. Not exaggerating, we measured it out while laughing at ourselves. Also they were a bit over $5 each. His "basket" was maybe a medium McDonald's size. The pretzels were fine-ish and the cheese dip was inedible. Well over $30 for this delightful meal. These guys should be ashamed of themselves. read more

This was one of the more terrible service I have ever had. We came in yesterday with 9 people at 3 pm, The restaurant was not busy and we were seated promptly with menus....and sat...and sat...for 15 minutes before we were asked for our drink orders. After another 30 minutes we asked to cancel out order and leave and we were told the order was placed 36 minutes ago and was coming up - the server argued with us!!! about the time We were never asked about refills and one of our party had specifically asked for a refill TWICE DONE - NOT GOING BACK FOR THAT CRAP read more

Steak was over cooked three times. My daughters order was wrong and when we talked to the server about it her reply was, "We are out of that so we made this instead". So wrong on all counts. If you'd like to have your Valentine's dinner wrecked, just go to Applebee's in Pocatello and visit Amanda. We arrived during happy hour when all drinks are half off so none should cost more than $3. We also had a 10% discount from our hotel. After ordering more items than we needed Amanda told us about a good $1 drink and kept saying "And it's only a dollar". I asked if I could get one with crushed ice and she said she'd check. She brought it directly out without asking first and said she had to "ring it up differently because this particular drink doesn't come with crushed ice, is that ok?" Well, I don't know if that's ok or not. So the bill came and there were two separate charges for the drink, one for $4.50 and the other for $3.59, a total of over $8! What happened to the "Only a $1" drink?! And this one was almost 3 times any Happy Hour price! Not only that but the 10% discount wasn't applied either. When asked about it Amanda said she'd take it up with her manager. OK. She comes back and says we can give you 20% off your bill to make up for it. What? Our real bill total should have been about $30 minus 10%. This bill was about $41. So 20% off would be around $8 and closer to our actual cost. But the discount on this bill was $3.50! Go figure. We were disgusted and left our dessert before we'd finished just to get out of there. We decided not to leave a tip on the $43 bill. They'd already wrangled what they had to have. As fun-wrecking as all that was (and not entirely unexpected as we'd also had a similar experience at another Applebee's in Idaho Falls at which time we said we wouldn't go back again), the real icing on the cake was when we got our credit card bill: Amanda had charged us not even the $43, but $48! Needless to say we'll never go to any Applebee's ever again, even if it's the only restaurant in the entire state or country. Thanks for listening. P.S. I would really not even rate this place, but one star is the minimum choice. It should be negative -10 on a scale of 5. read more

Nice atmosphere for a college town. It was too bad that we were not passing through during NFL season though. Within walking distance to the hotel we were staying at, we could not have asked for a better place. Pretty good food! Applebee's is always a place we can count on!! Went there for a birthday celebration once. Ordered, food came, but after we started eating, bit into a potato that had a spoiled spot....it happens. We kindly let our server know, within seven to ten minutes later a fresh plate of food arrived at our table with including another bourbon street steak. At this point we were finishing up with our meal. We asked for the bill and a box. The manager appeared to our table. Apologized, and said to take the extra meal, that our $50 meal was on them and added a free desert and a happy birthday! No one likes getting a spoiled potato, but how could it of been foreseen? But it definitely didn't spoil the night! Thanx Applebee's! read more
