Seated fairly quickly on a busy Saturday evening . Our waitress was excellent & stated to my son & I it was only her third day. She was attentive & stayed ontop of things at our table. This is the nicest Applebees I've been to appearance wise, very open and updated. We sat at a table by the bar and it appeared the bartender was our server. They were out of a few beers but she was funny and nice. We came after 9pm to take advantage of the happy hour but got a mix of happy hour apps and regular priced apps. She took our order without writing anything down which stressed me out a bit but everything came out good. After our food hit the table she came over and got us anything else we needed. I got the seasonal mucho marg which was good, not strongly prickly pear flavored. After I got the house Bahama mama which is $5 after 9pm and my all time favorite drink there. I got the happy hour buffalo wings and mozzarella sticks and they were both delicious. Everyone was happy with their food. Wifey and I didn't feel much like cooking especially after a long day in church, so I remembered that Applebee's gave all the Vets a $5.00 gift card for Veteran's Day and it expires 12/1, so what better time than now to use it. Wasn't very busy for a 5:00pm Sunday afternoon. The Berry Merry colada was very good however it LOOKED NOTHING LIKE the picture in the menu. The bourbon Street chicken and shrimp was very tasty. Chicken was very juicy with a dog portion of mashed garlic potatoes. My wife went with the standard rack of ribs. Coleslaw also mashed potatoes. Ribs were falling off the bone. I ordered the grilled chicken tender salad, which should have grilled chicken, tomatoes, cheddar cheese on a bed of lettuce. I was served a deep, deep, deep fried wafer thin chicken that was essentially deep fried breadcrumbs, no tomato, dried out strings of cheese. It was inedible. I've written company headquarters about my experience. I picked out the rubble of chicken and put it to the side, and ate some of the lettuce. This place always continues to disappoint. The service/waiter was horrible to say the least. One of the appetizers we ordered was forgotten about and then given to another table. My daughter's meal never came. We had to get a different server to find out where the meal was. Wrong dressing for the meal. Waiter never came to refill the drinks. He was talking in deep conversation to another table so much so we couldn't even get his attention. The manager came over and said he would take the appetizer that we never received off the bill! She was so much fun, knew the menu, and had great suggestions. 2 friends and I came here to grab some drinks and food for the night. They had bacardi bucket drink specials that we took advantage of. They were made perfectly and were a plentiful amount. They were only 10 dollars a piece. Then after 9pm appetizers were half off and since we were looking for some bar food we decided to just order a smorgasbord of them. We did 2 orders of beer cheese pretzels, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, buffalo, and honey mustard boneless wings. They came out extremely fast and we thought it was all cooked perfectly. Solid restaurant to visit. Good for family and groups l. We went for happy hour where most appetizers are half price. It was fun and the food was good. We got the boneless chicken wings in different flavors which was delicious. Also we got the wonton tacos which are one of my favorite things to get here. I do not recommend the queso dip it lacked flavor and was not great to us. Be careful!!! Leading to the bar there is a step down and as we sat at the table near that step a guy walked down not realizing and fell hard- he was fine. All in all I would go back if in the area. Haven't been to Applebee's in a while, but I was starving when I got in to town for work. I wanted wings so I stopped in. I ended up getting Garlic Parmesan wings with a side of Buffalo sauce and chicken quesadillo from the apps menu. Was a little disappointed I couldn't do the late night half price because I wasn't dining in... I was exhausted from traveling 1/2 the day. I sat at the bar and got a Grey Goose on ice. The bartender was very nice and it was a great pour. Ate my food in the room and it was so good! Sometimes you get your brain thinking about something and it doesn't live up to your expectations. Wife and I have come to this place frequently for date nights and I have to say I've seen service get worse here in the past year. They seem to be losing all their good waiters to a rival down the road so service seems to be spotty at best these days. Went here yesterday (08/23/2022) for dinner after dropping my dad's car off at Unity Chevrolet, which is nearby. Decided to go here because i haven't been to applebees in a while considering the one in monroe closed down. We had to wait about 2 minutes for a host to greet us to sit down. but once the host came to the front, we were seated right away. We were a party of 3. We started with 3 waters. We did take a while to order, as we had to look over the menu for specials and anything else that looked delicous. Next my dad and i ordered drinks: he got the Long Island Iced Tea, and i got the Blue Hawaiian Long Island Iced Tea. We both enjoyed our drinks. Finally, after deciding on entrees for the longest time, we all ordered. I ordered the Oriental Chicken Salad with fried chicken, My dad ordered Ribs with brocolli and mashed potato, and my mom ordered the fiesta lime chicken. We all finished and liked our entrees. the dressing on the salad was also really good. Next the server offered dessert, but we had ice cream at home to eat, so didn't get any. I should have read the reviews before visiting! It started off on a bad note when we walked in, noticed it was quite empty for a Friday night, and had to wait longer than necessary for a hostess to appear at the hostess stand and seat us. We ordered appetizers and drinks: bbq wings, brisket quesadillas and chicken tortilla soup. My drink, the sangria, tasted like watered down juice with a defrosted piece of fruit. They missed slapping the sauce on half of the wings, the brisket didn't make it to half the quesadilla, and what appeared on the rest was little to none. As for the soup, it was a bowl of tortillas and what looked like 2 tablespoons of hot, flavorless water with chicken chunks. We really tried to make the best of the meal and didn't feel that asking to replace any of it would have made much of a difference. Thankfully this location doesn't reflect my experience at other Applebee's where the food and service was excellent, however I know for sure I will not return to this place any time soon. read more

Wow another zero stars if I could....I been at this location quite a few times but always not by choice since my girlfriend likes the salads here and always hit and miss with the time and day of the week. Well she again wanted to go here again on a Monday 6-7-21 about 430 pm not too much going on...... We sat down and waited about 10 mins to just see a waitresses... Hmmmm my girlfriend wanted her said and ask the person up front if someone can take our order...... There's this one lady who was serving me and my friends not too long ago and we all did separate payments. I paid to the card and also tipped her threw the card. My friend did the same thing, but she was planning on giving her a cash tip but the lady comes over and like calls out to everyone not really she raised her voice so everyone could hear though, and ask my friend why she didn't tip and asked if the service was good but like very like in your face kinda attitude. And I'll be honest I was sitting there in shock for a minute because I didn't even know what to say and I was also embarrassed. You could definitely tell she knew exactly what she was doing and because of that I told my friend do not tip her and we left and to be honest because she made that scene. Went there earlier today to meet up with a few coworkers and had 1 onion ring, 3-4 waffle fries, a chicken tender and 2 small Tito's orange-pineapple and cranberry drink and was feeling fine until I went home and all hell broke loose... puking and the number 2's and I went to bed ( 6:30pm) and up at 8:30 pm and still puking in bed as I'm writing this review... both bartenders were nice so no complaint there but when I tried to use the bathroom before I left this is what I seen in stall number 2 and 3.... I've had salmon cooked just the way I liked it elsewhere. I also ordered the *White Peach Sangria* and it was also SOSO. The Sangria was HUGE but the taste was not as good as I had expected. I have been coming to this Applebee's for years since they have opened. I have known friends who used to work here. The location of this Applebee's is off of route 300 in Newburgh or as locals call it Union Ave. the parking lot is a pain in the butt. I recommend entering and exiting through the Walmart next door. I would make reservations if you come on the weekend. It gets crowded. I think the bar does a lot of business here. They are trying to make Applebee's more current by adding tablets where you can order on the tablet. The only issue is when you go to order your food you can't choose if you want to add a side or take something off. For ex I got peanut tai wings. Instead of blu cheese I wanted ranch. On the tablet there is no option to switch to ranch. Kinda silly. But it's really nice to see all of the local sports teams on the wall. There is even a photo of my mom on the wall haha! Love it ! It's the same as any other Applebee's chain. I want to like this location more. There just really inconsistent in Newburgh. Sometimes I will be here and I will get great food. Other times I get mediocre food. I usually just order wings or breaded shrimp or a salad. It's kinda hard to mess up stuff that you fry. But sometimes they over fry the food or they leave it under the headlamp for too long. I don't know what they do to the food. The last time i came in the server was new. He was very thorough. Repeated the order. Everything came out great. Except he never cleared the table. Not a big deal. The time before that. My breaded shrimp was really tough. I ended up sending it back. I just got a side salad. Now the burgers are usually consistent here. Overall. I want to like this Applebee's more. It's not a individualized franchise. The location in Poughkeepsie has the same owner. I wish they would take a hard look at this location in Newburgh. It had def gone downhill. I will be back here at some point. I wish I could give this particular Applebee's "NO STAR". Over the years this place has been deteriorating, both service and food. Last night was our last visit. We ordered brisket quesadillas, unfortunately there were no meat in a few of them. We ordered barbecue chicken wings; the top had barbecue sauce and the bottom didn't. We had no utensils no napkins and not even a drink of water. A few weeks ago we went to the Applebee's in Peekskill NY and the service was exceptional so I know it's not a problem with the brand. It's the location. Newburgh NY location is a total waste. My recommendations: retrain the entire staff and replace the managers. read more

Ever since I started living in the area, the Newburgh applebees has welcomed me and my party with open arms for a good experience each time we go. Last night, we had Julie and she was very personable and qualified as a waitress, like she didn't even need to write our order down and she got it right to a tee. My son and I went on 9/18 for dinner. Was not very busy. We ordered and an appetizer, a salad and our entrees. It took a very long time for the appetizer to come out. When the waitress came out she had both the appetizer and salad and the entrees all together. I asked why it all came out at once and was told that's the way we do it here. Price was high for the food we received and and food was poor. I noticed there is a clear shrinkage of portions. Tiny piece of Salmon and Burger was thin , small and over cooked. My boyfriend took me here for a quick dinner for Mother's Day and this was the worst experience I've ever had at this specific franchise. Let me start off by saying, I'm a server, so I'm very patient and like to keep complaining to a minimum being that I know many things that happen aren't the fault of the servers. I got a hamburger with fries, specifically asked for no cheese. Burger came and it had cheese on it, the server was apologetic and took it back to be fixed right away. I wasn't all that upset but my boyfriend was of course, because he had to start eating without his pregnant girlfriend. My boyfriend ordered a $20 steak and shrimp meal that came with a side of string beans and mashed potatoes. His string beans were cold and he never even got the shrimp! We waited so long for our food that we forgot to say something to the server about it until the end. Our server told us that a manager was going to come over for us but that never happened, but my burger did get comped and another $3 was taken off for the missing shrimp.
