burned wings whenever ordering catering, they don't know how to shake the bin.. they don't follow directions, at least my experience when ordering between 1 PM and 4 PM and also the same as that they do not bring your order for car said to go if you order during those times. Great tasting food at a good price with great service. We arrived at 11:30am for lunch and were quickly seated. Our waiter was friendly and quickly brought us our drinks. We ordered a two for one price lunch special that included a 6 oz. Sirloin, mash potato and broccoli with a cheeseburger and fries. We included two salads. The food wasn't the best. Our spinach and artichoke dip had really salty and broken chips, and my daughter had gotten the tomato soup with a breadstick and the breadstick was incredibly garlicky. Our server Jack was great considering how busy it was. However he brought our appetizer with our meal and did not ask us if we wanted any dessert before telling us how to pay. Delicious food and wonderful service. One of the few places open after 9 here in Mankato. We needed a late supper after spending the afternoon on the road and the evening sitting in the hospital visiting with a gravely ill relative. We knew we could rely on Applebees. Both our server and the manager were gracious and had a great sense of humor. They lifted our spirits. A group of us were in the backroom. Ordering the food was efficient. Arrival of the food was the same. Nicely presented and right temperature. When it came to pay, problems started. The table kiosk wasn't working properly. Wasn't accepting credit or debit cards. Told the waitress. She told us that a new system was installed and this was the first time is wasn't working. The waitress then had to write down each order separately and print out individual tickets. This took at least 20 minutes to do. Then she took the debit/credit cards. Lastly she took the cash. Another 20 minutes wait. The poor waitress had other tables to take care of also. No fault of the waitress of the delay. Poor system of paying though. read more

My husband I have eaten at the Mankato Applebee's many, many times over the last several years. Here is my review: FOOD: Consistently good, not excellent though. Adequate quality, can tend to be over cooked and the sauces in my opinion are too salty, the fajitas and grilled potatoes as an example. Have also noticed a tendency to overcook lately, especially the fajitas. Always cheerfully willing to alter an order, and add some salsa or small things like that make Applebees stand out. DRINKS: Great bar, nice to sit at, friendly and attentive bartenders and generous wine pours. The bar is the biggest PRO to this restaurant. Great perfect margarita too. Better than average beer selection. SERVICE: Always friendly, quick, professional. No complaints. Outstanding seating times, have never had a long wait at anytime and the place is consistently busy. ATMOSPHERE: Upbeat, bright, modern vibe with lots of pictures on the walls of local school sports teams - nice touch. There are TV's to watch but easily ignored of you want. Very diverse customer base, everything from families with small children, old folks, couples, college kids - but you don't feel like you're being over run by other people's children. BUILDING: Clean, neat, bathrooms are also clean and neat. Adequate seating area for waiting. In the winter sitting at the bar can be a bit chilly and breezy so try to sit facing the door. PLENTY of parking. Overall a "yes" recommendation! We go often and will return soon! read more

I try to avoid this Apple Bee's at all costs. Every single time I go here I have a horrible experience. The only time I go to this place is if a friend or family is having a birthday or some other preplanned event. In which case I go to socialize more than anything. That being said, I went to Applebee's last weekend for a friends birthday. Needless to say I was skeptical of the service or the food but I stayed positive and tried something new. Their menu is new and has many new items on it. I decided to go with something easy. It was called the "Triple Bacon Burger." I was excited to see a large burger overflowing with bacon and cheese as the description and photo showed. I also ordered the meal with a side of fries. The plate came from the kitchen and there were maybe 10 fries on the plate. Before saying anything the waitress told me she was going to have them make up another batch of fries. She new what they had put on the plate was pathetic. In which case the plate should never have left the kitchen in the first place. But thats only the start. Right after she left I took the top bun off of my burger. The cheese was getting that pale look that cheese gets when it sits and cools for too long. And my "Triple Bacon Cheeseburger" had 2 very thin slices of bacon crossing like an X over the patty. Now I ask, how many strips of bacon go on a regular bacon cheeseburger? If this is triple the bacon Id hate to see a regular one. This is just the most recent of a long list of horrible experiences Ive had at the Mankato Applebee's. Returned to Applebees 2019 only to be served a raw hamburger and when I refused to eat it the waitress offered to recook it but we all know we cant ever trust sending food back so I said no just take it away. I also ordered one of the $1 big mug drinks. It was green and tasted like pure sugar water, way overly sweet. So much so it was undrinkable. I ended up ordering another cocktail and ate nothing. In the COVID-19 shutdown, my family tries to support area restaurants. I ordered baby-back ribs, a Caesar salad, and garlic green beans. It was wretched. Salad issue: croutons were chewy, not crisp, and one of them was 2 inches long, and an inch in diameter. Green beers were overcooked to the point of being mush. The ribs were as hard as rock--you couldn't tell the difference between the meat and the bone when poking with a fork. They knew we would not be back to complain once we were home. This was robbery. This Applebee's will never have my business or support again when it reopens. If they go bankrupt, good riddance. read more

Probably going to ramble in this review. The service was really good the margaritas tasted alright. My daughter said her kids steak and potatoes were really good. Our boys mini cheeseburgers look the little plane but he said he liked them and he really lined the apple fritters and yogurt dip. My wife said her Burger was absolutely delicious. My quesadilla burger was alright not really sure what it was missing maybe it was just too simple(should have came with more toppings. Both of us had fries and they seemed more generic then a fast food joint. Prices seem to have gone up and quality has slipped a little. It seems like they're trying to compete with a sit-down restaurant and fast food joint as well as a bar of sorts playing music and whatnot. I feel like they need a little focus. read more

Me and my girlfriend go out to eat at least every weekend and sometimes weekdays too! Applebees provides us with an affordable place to eat with a lively, fun atmosphere and a massive menu. We have definitely become addicted to a few of their menu items! (I'm an "all day brunch burger" guy; she goes for the "shrimp and parmesan sirloin with grilled veggies") When we lived in Albert Lea, Applebees was one of our best options- but we had a very limited pool of restaurants to choose from. We could count on about 3/4 visits to range from good to great; the other 4th of the time it was the food that was disappointing (sometimes embarrassingly so) and rarely was the service an issue. We have eaten at the Mankato Applebees about 9-10 times now since we moved here, and they have been 100% every time on providing both quick and friendly service and pumping out tasty food! The few times we've had any issues with the food it was immediately and politely fixed. Props to them, especially since they have been packed full to the brim each time we've gone! You will get what you are looking for from this town's Applebees. They won their fifth star from me by serving delicious long islands each time- they've managed to hit a great balance between a tangy-sweet flavor and how fiery the alcohol content is. I've found that other restaurants often have trouble with Long Island iced teas and the result is often terrible. So two thumbs up to the bar tenders there- finding a place where I can order a Long Island without being nervous is amazing! read more

Here is my review on Applebee's ... first off Applebee's is my favorite place to go!! Love love their chips and salsa my main reason for going. When I get a waiter or waitress BESIDES Brendon/Brandon whatever his name is ... he's in his mid 40's works a lot dark hair gelled to the side ... anyways he not only constantly acts annoyed at everything he will walk past with our drinks at the end of the table I had to go ask him for a refill... anyways never a big deal to any other waiter or waitress except him when it comes to chips and salsa he throws a big fit when I ask for more says he needs to talk to his manager says he gets in trouble with his manager so I called his bluff and talked to the manager and he said chips and salsa are yes not bottomless like they use to be but if people request them it's not a big deal... so brendon or Brandon whatever his name is, LIED!!! Went to this location a little over a week ago to celebrate a friends birthday. Starting off the host was very short with us - saying we should of called ahead and it's our fault we had to wait (mind you it was about 8 P.M. on a Wednesday night - and we had a group of five) Our server was a young woman who we all overheard complaining to a coworker about an "old couple" that stiffed her - pretty unprofessional. The management and the staff truly does strive to maintain their best at this very busy location. Their happy hour selection is great and the atmosphere is always upbeat and fun. Terrible service tonight. Server over charged us then claimed there was no way to fix it as the card had already been swiped. We asked to see the manager. Server disappeared for 5 minutes, and the manager failed to come out and help us resolve the simple issue. Poor service from our service and even worse from the manager. My family is pull of applebees lovers.at LEAST 2 times times a month. But since we've moved to makato, we've tried this location many many times thinking maybe it will be better next time. Some of the problems; the noodles are super over or undercooked. There isn't enough sauce on something, sat under the warmer too long. Undercooked chicken, ending in food poisoning and no one doing anything about it. When we've told the managers on duty, they just ask if you want it remade and if not cause you are in a hurry, they just walk away. They don't even look sorry or anything. We have not gone in weeks because of the food poisoning. read more
