We had the pleasure of being served by Maria. From start to finish, Maria made our dining experience a pleasure. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. She got our drinks very fast. We come here very often and haven't had such a good Waitress such as Maria. She definitely gets a two thumbs up and is one of the better waitresses that you have. I cannot say that I have one complaint she made my Valentine's Day very special considering other times that we come there we have to wait. Have to ask for the waiter to come back. I was immediately noticed and greeted by a busy waiter that saw us arrive. We were seated shortly after to a booth . Our server was attentive and very personable. Burgers and Mac and cheese were good. They have a wide variety of local brewery beers that are incredible. The manager is very attentive to the guests and what they would like to be served. Came with my brother-in-law to catch up and grab a bite to eat. Service was good and the server was very friendly. Food has probably gotten a little better over the years and there is no real sticker shock when you get your bill. Not a bad spot to catch a bite and get some decent quality food for your money. Location is convenient and only minutes away from Toms River or Manchester. Parking is ok and although the area has a lot of traffic, it wasn't too bad to park. The food really isn't all that exciting and leaves much to be desired. The real draw to this location is the fact that there isn't much else around. It's been forever since I've had quality bro time at Applebee's so today I was greatly excited to give it another go. First off, the set up on the outdoor patio is so enjoyable. There was a warm heater to keep us satisfied and Flat screen TV's to set a cool vibe. Tables were socially distanced throughout the restaurant to accommodate everybody's safety. We all picked on The classic combo, which is a big sharing platter of boneless wings, mozzarella sticks, spinach and artichoke dip, and chicken quesadillas. The mozzarella sticks were hot, stringy, and very cheesy. And the dip in the marinara sauce was out of this world! The spinach and artichoke dip was also so cheesy, hot and fresh. A perfect dip for the perfect chip. Unfortunately, the boneless wings didn't really do it for me. They were very plain, not crunchy and was my least favorite thing on the platter. But the chicken quesadillas clutched with their amazing flavor and cheese pull that just blew me away. Overall on the appetizers, it was an excellent option for everyone to pick and enjoy themselves. Now for that juicy, crunchy, and delicious whisky bacon burger. An all beef patty topped with two slices of pepper jack cheese, crispy onions, two strips of applewood-smoked bacon and fireball whisky-infused steak sauce. Topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles on a brioche bun. It was everything I could have ever asked for. And those French fries with ketchup on the side is the best side to go with your burger. The fries were salted to a marvelous taste and fried to a significant texture. The satisfaction on everybody's food made it a great night as we laughed and savored it! One last thing I wanted to mention was Cindy, our pleasurable server that I know had a big smile under her mask as she was hardworking and on the job. We've been coming here fairly frequently for the past year ; it's clean, friendly, and usually more than you would expect. I ordered a steak Black & Blue/ Pittsburgh which I've done here before and found acceptable except for tonight. The steak I got was well done and obviously a "re-do" ; I did something I rarely do and sent it back and thru the very capable barmaid, who was reprimanded by the manager who seemed to blame the poor barmaid. I asked to talk to manager and who actually "pushed back" - we don't do Pittsburgh; I said I don't do shoe-leather. Very disappointed in a place we "like". I eventually got a rare acceptable steak with my old sides. It's actually a shame; the bottom line mean everything to "corporate" and the the employee means little and not much better for the customer. They don't give you water as most places do and the booths need more padding as you sink so low, you feel like a little kid reaching up to eat. It's Applebee's so you pretty much know what you are getting into food-wise. This particular one is located in the "Senior-area" of Manchester, so expect a large crowd in the late afternoon and try and be patient with the other customers, as many are elderly. Applebee's claims to offer a senior discount, however they make it contingent on how much you spend. Apparently they do not offer a senior discount on their two for twenty meal but do not post that vital piece of information on their menu. Applebee's has a responsibility to make you aware of that. It isn't until you get your bill and ask for the senior discount that you're told about this. Apparently they have a Golden Apple card their Golden Apple that they don't tell you about either, and it is on this card that they disclose this information.. They either have a senior discount or they don't. When I tried to give the manager my feedback he seemed to want to argue the point. Especially when I told him that I was a big Yelp person. I don't like bait and switch and I don't like surprises, and I especially don't like being treated like an idiot. read more

Manager caught wind of me not being happy, after I had eaten half the dinner hoping it would get better, he insisted the meal was taken off the bill with no further discussion. This is not my practice, however, if no one says what is wrong, the cook will never know what to look out for. Bottom line, I will be going back weekly only because of his actions that night. If it were a different manager with a different attitude, business might be effected by their decision. A disaster. The worst Applebee's I've been to. My family and myself went there 9/15. Food was not appetizing. We ordered sirloin steaks. Couldn't cut thru mine..all fat. My mother ordered French onion soup. The top of the soup was so burned it was black. I was served my food 1st and sat there waiting 25 min until my family's food got brought out. I had to get up from my table to speak to a Mgr because our waiter disappeared. Mrg did not comp us for bad service/food. I wrote a letter to guest services at their main office in MO. Please don't eat here. They need to re-train their kitchen staff to serve appetizing food and re-train their wait staff and mgt on how to treat their customers. I've learned my lesson. read more

We go to this location several times a month for the past few years because the food is really good. Great burgers and love the sweet potato fries! The only complaint I have is that the "take out" / "get it to go" service/food is not that great, you usually get it home and the portions are smaller that when you eat inside and usually cold. But if you sit down and eat there, then it's good. The staff is alright and the décor is that of a sports bar/pub, always clean. read more

IT'S NICKNAMED CRAPPLEBEES FOR A REASON! My boyfriend and I stopped in for a quick dinner before shopping. We ordered the special because the bartender said it was a big hit. Chicken shrimp and potatoes. I asked for mine without mushroom and onions. We were served and mine was loaded with mushrooms and onions....fail #1. They "sent it back to make a new one"....which I'm sure they just removed the unwanted veggies. 20 minutes post dinner my boyfriend and I became violently ill for the next 6 hours with food poisoning. She didnt even bring out our food, it was another waitress. She never ONCE came by to see if we needed a refill on our drinks or how our food came out, NOTHING. It was so bad that I had to ask for the manager to get another beer because this chick was too busy on her phone. Who do you think brings me my beer? The shitty waitress.. who gave me and my wife the WORST excuse ever... "Im so sorry were really busy tonight"..... bitch we wouldnt be having this conversation if you werent on your damn phone and actually paid attention to your tables! Not only that, even if the place was jam packed, youre a waitress!! Its your job to take care of your customers, and this place fails MISERABLY in that department. Absolutely horrible!! My parents and I will never go to any Applebees ever again. First of all they changed menus, which was a mistake. This was the only time that I ever had trouble finding something that I wanted to eat on a menu. It took me, and my Father, a good 10 minutes to find something on the menu. Second of all my uncle and my Father ordered hamburgers. They both wanted the burgers medium. My uncle got his and it was raw on the inside. My Dad got his and it was so well done that it was almost burned. Third of all my Mom and I got the 2 for $20. We got the onion rings for appetizers and we got the same thing. I forgot what it's called but it's basically big, long elbow noodles in a cream sauce that was horrible. It made my Mothers and my stomach upset. The waitress was great. Unfortunately the only good thing that all 4 of us ate was the onion rings. I used to love Applebees, but with this new menu everything was disgusting. Never again. read more
