I haven't been to Applebees in years. I was at a mall event and this spot was very close so I gave it a shot. They were offering a $15.99 all you can eat menu. You could pick from three options, I started with the shrimp. They were ok but not something I'd order again. I then tried the boneless chicken wings. I ordered the garlic parm. They looked fantastic but were mostly breading and covered in a butter sauce that was too heavy for my liking. Finally I tried the riblets. I asked if they came on a bone and was told no, but there was a bone which is something I don't like. The highlight of this meal was our server Roxanne. She was so kind and attentive. She did a great job and is a real asset to Applebees. read more

Came here for dinner tonight and had a good time. First, apparently the kitchen was short-staffed so it took a little longer than normal to get seated and get our food. Or at least that's what the hostess and the server told us, but honestly the wait wasn't bad at all! Maybe 15 minutes to sit down and then we got our food in around 20 minutes? For a dinner out, that seems extremely reasonable to me, but maybe they're usually lightning quick :) Our server was really responsive throughout the meal and immediately brought us our check when we asked for it, so that was really nice. I ordered the cheeseburger and really enjoyed it! Nothing extraordinary but it definitely got the job done, and it was also pretty affordable. My wife enjoyed her salad as well. There's nothing here that would recommend it besides a stellar location at the intersection of Route 1 and 295. It's an Applebee's where hypertension is actually on the menu. Seriously, a very decent burger and fries served quickly is what they do best proving that not every worthwhile dining experience has to be tied to a tasting menu. Went on Sunday to watch Sunday football game. We were sitted right away without a wait. My burger was too salty and all you can boneless wings, riblets and shrimp for $14.99 was so so. I came here for happy hour and had such a great time. Strongly recommend getting the Long Island ice teas which were only six dollars during HH. The service was extremely quick, we were able to get our drinks pretty quickly after ordering. The mozz sticks were decent and so was the spinach and artichoke dip - but for the price you can't go wrong read more

When I do reviews, I rate on the basis of expectations of that particular place, so a good dive bar may get as many stars as an expensive high-end restaurant. Given that, I'm going to give the Applebee's in Lawrenceville on Rte1, 4 stars based on my recent experience. Came here tonight after we discovered that Arooga's and then Brio's Italian are permanently closed (surprised face). We hadn't been to any Applebee's for years. I think this location was the last one we'd had a meal. It's located across from Brio's, so we decided on having dinner there. I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant appeared to be very clean and in good condition, given out long it's been there. It was mostly empty at 5:30m on a Monday night. Our waitress was very pleasant. She immediately came over and I ordered a glass of house Pinot. She brought it over with a tall glass of ice and a spoon. I was pleasantly surprised, as I always order a tall glass of ice with my wine and sometimes it's forgotten or a small glass is brought over and I've never been given a spoon to use. Yes, I like to add lots of ice to my white wine. On to the meal, we opted for the $25 twofor dinners. You had a choice of two regular sized dinners and either two salads (ceasar or house) or one appetizer to share. I chose the 6oz ribeye with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Hubby went for a glass of passion fruit and limeade and the broccoli chicken fettuccine. Both dinners cost a total of $30! For dessert, I had brownie bite $2.99, which was perfect. A small dessert that didn't make me feel guilty. It came with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. The wine was probably the most expensive part of the meal at $9.50 for the 9 oz glass. So they have all you can eat riblets,boneless wings and fried shrimp. Advertised as mix and match. This has always been riblets and shrimp both served together but this time I can only order one choice, I cannot put in a second order until I FINISH the first order. If it is price, raise the price. My order was taken over 15 minutes ago and I still don't have a drink. I typically expect places like this to have a consistent standard but they failed. I'm just not a big fan of Applebee's food. To me it always taste rushed and subpar. It's like a more expensive sometimes worst tasting fast food. Applebee's has been a mainstay but no more. We really just go to play the trivia game. Food has never been great. What's changed is that I've realized that the chain and the Lawrenceville store in particular are part of the single use plastic problem. They have no interest in curbing their use. Every styrofoam container they hand you for leftovers will leach into the environment for 500 years. Our server was really nice very sweet! I can't take that away from her. She got the entire order right! Trust me it was a bit of a big order. Just that the food took a very long time to get to us and it wasn't even a packed restaurant at the moment so I was a little thrown off. Now Applebee's s needs to stop with their fake chicken wings. The hostess was super friendly, the waiter probably could have used a little more training. Food: Good. The lunch specials are great. You can order lunch here for $7.99, $8.99 or $9.99 according to your food combo. I went with the mac and cheese and club sandwich for $9.99. Both were delicious. I would suggest the mac and cheese to anyone, lunch special or not. Restaurant: Could be better. The booths and tables were a little sticky. The window ledges were dirty with crumbs and who knows what else. The bathrooms were okay. The decor was typical for Applebees. Parking: Confusing. I first entered the mall and tried to get to the Applebee's parking lot, didn't work. I was delighted to hear that this location has happy hour food and drink specials, unlike the Applebee's closest to my home. I will DEFINITELY be back to take advantage of those specials! Terrible experience! Is already hard to eat out with the pandemic going on. I went with my family to eat at the Princeton NJ location. We order our food but when the appetizers come out they bring us five dirty plates. The first plate has red sauce all over, the second green stuff on the plate, the next plate crumbs of food, and so on. Terrible I ask to speak to the manager but another server comes instead of the manager. The experience was very scary especially with the COVIT going on. Therefore I want the NJ Health Department to stop by and inspect the place. Restaurant managers, please be responsible for your actions. What a bad experience my boyfriend and I had here in September. Flies, flies everywhere. My boyfriend and I sat on the restaurant side (opposite of the bar), near the window. There were so many flies flying around. My boyfriend made a comment that "imagine what the kitchen is like". We got the 2 for $20 deal (one appetizer, two entrees). The food was okay. No wow factor. They filled us up so that was good. We had a really nice waitress. I used to come here for half off appetizers during my undergrad years. I have to many Applebee's in my life but this one is by far the best simply because of the customer service that I have received here. I have been here on many occasions and have not once had a bad experience. Tonight I had a particularly great experience. Our waitress as so nice and friendly and was patient even though we came in with a large group. I will definitely continue to come back to this location. read more
