It's Applebees, don't expect anything special. Half apps are nice on paper but none of them taste very good. These boneless wings always tend to leave me with a stomach ache. The margaritas are overly sweet and low on alcohol content but are 2-for-1 so I guess it's worth it for $6~. Service was great, ambiance is whatever. Good if you want to watch sports. Well I would not have expected to give Applebee's a 5 star rating but after today's experience I am. Our waiter Kevin was amazing. He was funny and helpful and kind. The food was really good. I had brisket tacos which were delicious. My husband and my mother in law each got bacon cheeseburgers from the 2 for $22 menu. They really enjoyed the burgers and said they were cooked exactly to their liking. The restaurant itself was pleasant. It was clean. Great food and great service is why they earned this review. The food and the service is two steps away from disgusting. The amount of salt on the fries and the tortillas made them inedible and that's beside the fact that the tortillas were broken up in little pieces like they were the last crumbs in the bag. I stopped by for happy hour after meeting some friends. 2 drinks and two huge orders of wings only $22 bucks. Amazing deal. Ms.Grace helped me out and she checked for ID WHICH I LOVE. She's making sure there's no underaged drinking and she made me feel young lol. her customer service was phenomenal and her overall spirit and personality top notch. My daughter and I went to a nearby indoor adventure park so this was really a no-brainer for lunch. We were seated immediately during the 1-2pm hour which I thought was really pretty good. Inside is clean and the staff is friendly. Our server came straight away and got a drink order for my little girl. She loved the strawberry lemonade and this made the rest of the meal so much better. She also made some requested changes to regular menu items without a fuss and knew to take care of little ones eating first. The key to any good meal with a child is to make sure you get them something to eat right away and our server knew this. Decent applebees, fast service and the food was on point today. Went here for lunch with my colleagues and hung out for a bit. My only negative experience was opening the door... I opened the door and held it open for some folks... and for some odd reason someone decided it was a bright idea to place a handrail (can't determine it's value or purpose other than preventing the door to swing all the way) that is at the same level as the door handle.. so you can assume what happened. Hand is pretty bruised but I don't think anything is broken. I'll see tomorrow! Would advise to remove the rail if it holds no purpose. Though my regular garlic parmesan wings were okay and tasted good, another order came out too cold (long wait for a new, hotter batch) and the other came out with a sauce that was hotter than was asked for which caused the wings to be unpleasant. Ok... for what it is... a run of the mill chain restaurant... it's pretty decent & the price is right! I came with my little granddaughters who are 6 & 9 but have pretty healthy appetites. We ordered off the 2 for $20 menu & then ordered a children's chicken tenders. FYI... the children's chicken tenders & the chicken tenders off the 2 for $20 menus were exactly the same size with both offering 6 pieces of chicken. I wish I could give zero stars for the amount of disrespect I received as a customer tonight. Firstly we chose Applebee's to try the specialty drinks as I am newly 21 and wanted to celebrate. When we got there we immediately ordered drinks in excitement and we got ID'd (which is fine I was excited to show my ID for the first time!!) Everything was fine and my whole table was super excited. The waitress then came back and said the manager requested to see the IDs again (which was odd since we didn't meet or talk to the manager so why would he distrust our IDS) and we happily complied because we have real IDs. We were shocked that the waitress then came back to tell us that we couldn't get the drinks and then had the audacity to say, "you're lucky you got them back." Saddened but just wanting to get our food we shrugged it off and continued with our meal. When receiving the food a few items hadn't come out yet but we figured it was on the way. Once realizing it had been awhile we asked about the items and the waitress had completely forgotten about the steak. By the time the steak came out most of the rest of our table was halfway through their meal and we realized that it had been 40 minutes since we ordered for the steak to come out. Just trying to brush everything off we asked for the check so we could just leave. When looking over the receipt I noticed that we were double charged for the steak. We waited for about 20 minutes for our waitress to come by so we could ask about it. Finally becoming fed up with the situation I walked over to her and asked her about it. She said she "already caught the mistake" and printed out a new receipt. Weirdly she didn't think to tell us she was printing a new receipt - what if we had paid and given a tip that wasn't accurate? Looking through the receipt again we noticed that one of us got charged full price for an appetizer that she had explicitly been told by the waitress was part of the half apps. When asking the waitress again she said there was nothing she could do and only after insisting did she say she could ask the manager. After another 20 minutes of waiting for the manager She told us she was having trouble tracking him down. After 5 minutes of watching him laughing with some customers I myself walked up to him and politely asked if he could help out our table when he finished helping that table. The waitress immediately ran up and said "I can explain" to the manager. Sadly I did not catch what she told him but when he came to our table we explained our side. He initially tried to deny our half off appetizer until we pulled up the menu where it did not state anywhere that it wasn't included. Finally he said he would give us the half off and just wanting to clarify the situation I asked whether he had requested our IDs. He said "I didn't request them but I did deny them." After expressing that I felt a bit weird about the situation since they're very real he said "we scanned them and it was fake." As I was about to tell him to buy a new scanner and that my ID was real he interrupted me to say, "well we can deny alcohol sale to any person so I'm not going to get into it." This was all throughout me using a completely calm and polite tone and never raising my voice once. Just wanting to get out of there we just dropped the conversation and paid. I also wanted to note that throughout all of this dinner the waitress rarely came by the table, oftentimes having other servers help us, and many other people were given faster service and were in and out in half the time it took for us to be served. It is also interesting to note that we were the only Asian people within the restaurant and only ones seeming to have issues with service. I completely understand how sucky it can be to work in food service firsthand and how this potentially could be the waitress's only means to paying for her livelihood so I will not be naming her in this review but I still stand by my belief that tonight's experience was 100% disrespectful. P.S. they really need to get a scanner that actually works. read more

I love coming to Applebee's and I can never get sick of the choices that they have! I enjoy most of the staff at this location and as soon as I walk into this establishment I feel at home. I don't like how cold it is all the time here and sometimes my steak has a lot of fat on it which isn't fun. One thing I am extremely unhappy about is that they got rid of the double steak and egg. That was my absolute favorite meal and if they decide they are going to be taking stuff off of the menu they should notify there guests in my opinion but besides that no complaints here. read more

We have been frequenting the Applebee's (3145 Middle Country Rd, Lake Grove, NY 11755). The last two times we were there (3/1/22 and 2/21/22) it was freezing inside - had to eat with our coats on. We and the people sitting behind us both complained - they would not or could not raise the heat. Complained to the manager - he said nothing he can do. We should have left! Will not be going back at least until it warms up. We both had the Shrimp and Chicken dinner - which was good, except we were frozen. The service was good. read more
