When 2/$25 turns into 2/$41. Good grief what's happened you as a business? Short staffed, no bartender(?), no manager??? We ordered the 2/$25, waited a long time for food and the found out one entre want available. They offered a substitution which turned out to be a mysterious inedible meat. When the check arrived it simply read 2/$25 .... $35.00. Two $2.99 up charges for sides, no explanations offered. The "manager" simply said some things cost more. Duh, even when you don't get what was ordered????? Sorry, this is no way to generate return business nor is it any way to expect any business. Madame hard core manager, you've got a Lot to learn, and expecting those with bar/restaurant experience to accept your line of BS isn't going to get you or your establishment Anywhere except out of business. read more

If I could give a zero, I would. We were seated quickly and placed our order. After 30 minutes our order arrived. The side order of broccoli with cheese was watery and very salty. The French onion soup was with very little broth and miniscule amount of onions, when i dipped the crouton in the soup, there was no broth left. My husbands fiesta lime chicken was dry and the cheese on top of the chicken tasted off. Rice had a good taste, but was very dry. Our waitress said she was new and it showed. Waiters were running all over the restaurant as if they weren't assigned to a specific area. Seen this happening to every table around us. Orders were wrong and food being sent back. Food was awful and service was worse. Blame management. Will not be going back read more

At lunch time-Service very slow (had to wait a half hour to get food with only 4 small tables in dining room filled)a bourbon steak ordered rare came medium well at best (cook needs to learn how to cook properly) after waiting 10 minutes after done eating finally walked up to bar to ask if they'd like me to pay for my meal. Do not recommend ; I won't be going again! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Horrible experience. The restaurant was not busy--less than 1/4 full. We were there for 2 hours, our waitress didn't turn in our drink order or bring our salads. She did not care. When our salads did come, the lettuce was frozen and gross, and the dressing was not what we ordered. She just basically shrugged and walked off. Other guests weren't allowed to use gift cards because the waitress could not figure out how to run them. A family with small children got their meals in shifts every 15 minutes. Two hours later when we still had not received our entrees, the lady next to us who had only been there 30 minutes was served her Fiesta Lime chicken--exactly what we ordered 2 hours earlier--we gave up and left. We won't go back, ever. The bartender was good, he was the only bright spot. read more

place is trash. Not clean, untrained waitstaff, tons of crappy reviews w no change... just don't go. read more

We arrived at 2:15 on a Saturday afternoon and were seated immediately. It seemed like a slow afternoon. We waited 30 minutes for THE GIRL THAT CLEANS OFF TABLES to get our drink order. The 2 servers in our section kept walking past us, never making eye contact. We watched multiple tables get up and leave. My daughter is a college student and a recently diagnosed diabetic and ONLY WANTED A GOOD MEAL FROM APPLEBEES while we visited her. After over an hour another gal (that seemed inconvenienced) came and took our meal order. We waited another 45 minutes for our food to arrive cold. We boxed up our food and left AFTER paying $81.54 for a table of 4 4 and the food was cold and plates were incorrect. During the 2 hours we were in the restaurant we counted and there were never more than 17 customers in the restaurant. (Not 17 tables, 17 customers) We also run a restaurant business and know how hard it is to "keep up" when short staffed but this is ridiculous!! No refills given, no server checked on us. The table across from us waited longer and we walked in and were seated at the same time. What a sad day of a horrible experience at "what was" our favorite restaurant. We will not return any time soon if ever! If I could leave a ZERO STARS I would have! read more

Walked in. Most tables open. Hour + wait due to no staff. People, if you can't staff your establishment, close the doors.

Hostess was backed up, she worked hard to get people sat. Great work on her part. Once at the table our waitress took our food order along with the drink order. Drinks and appetizer were quick, then the waiting game began. Blamed the wait on curbside orders, I did not see many curbside pick ups. Then blamed the kitchen. Other tables were getting food that arrived after our order was in. All food except 1 arrived to the table. When the last plate came out, waitress said the 1st plate went to the wrong table and they had to remake it. It was wrong anyways... All in and done we were there an 1 hour and 45 minutes... Ridiculous. WI'll not be back. read more

Service was excellent, food was great. Upon entering was greeted with a smile and very pleasant welcome. After confirming our party of two we were immediately seated in the bar area and placed our drink order. The server was the bartender who's name I can't recall but she was very friendly and efficient. We ordered the Chicken Wonton Tacos to start and the Blackened Cajun Salmon to complete our meal and everything was delicious. No complaints at all about this restaurant. read more

Really good lunch we are having. I had riblets and B a chicken salad. All was just right. Would return for more. B had received a gift coupon for Christmas is why we came this time. read more

Slow service. No soap in restroom. Decent food but nothing to brag about. the waiter was good but he was covering the whole place.

Took over 2 hours to get our food and there was no more checkups. Wasn't asked about refills either.

This place is trash. Ordered chicken Alfredo and waited 45 minutes for it and it came out COLD. They never refilled my drinks I ALWAYS had to ask. The chicken was burnt and dry. When I finally wanted to leave I asked for a To-go box and a side of Alfredo sauce, the server told me that they ran out of sauce and they're cooking more, I proceeded to wait another 15 minutes, to NOT get Alfredo sauce. As I was sitting down I got to witness their cleanliness, or the lack there of. I watched the bartender dunk cups in water (I'm praying that there was soap in it) he never washed the cup or scrubbed it. There were grease marks in the glass I never drank out of. read more

Food was excellent, waitress was great. Because of lack of employees, the wait on a Wednesday evening was over 35 minutes! Temperatures inside were freezing! Manager was asked several times to turn ac down and did not! Maybe he is the reason they can't find help? Went 5 miles out of our way to eat at Applebees and the wait and cold really made the dining uncomfortable. read more

Don't go here. Even if you're starving and about to die, DO NOT GO HERE. Asked for a water, that took 15 minutes. Food OBVIOUSLY sat in the service window for over 10 minutes. Food was cold and terrible. Served our food finally and knowing there was no silverware, she asked if we needed anything else. Ran out of a drink, asked nicely for a refill. Didn't get It for 15 minutes and finally walked out and paid a different waitress. read more

What a pleasant experience. To start off they were extremely short handed but all the staff was hustling & smiling while doing it. Even if the food was garbage which it wasn't, my experience would have been 5 stars. read more

food was nasty and over priced. the serve wasn't responsive and did not check up on us. i do not recommend!

Needs management attention!! Our server was morgan and she was awesome. Made sure we were well taken care of. The gentleman that brought our appetizer did not set the food on our table and handed the whole tray to my fiancé. Which was very unprofessional. We had a 53 minute wait for our food. A consistent 6 staff member could be seen standing around doing nothing multiple which were on their phones. No management could be seen anywhere. The hostess could be seen in the back as customers stacked up at the front door . Multiple times the employee was told customers were coming in by other servers yet she never moved until the line was out the door. Would not recommend. Food was below par for what you pay. read more

Ok the start here was terrible. We walk in & the host tells us it's a 20 minute wait. No big deal. The bar is empty & I said we'll wait at the bar & get drinks. The host, kind of snotty, said No. if you sit at the bar you have to eat there. Ok, I'll get us drinks & we'll wait on the bench. Again Mr snotty said Nope. Can't do that. So they won't let me spend money in their store. We decided to just eat at the bar. Rachel, the bartender , was awesome. To the sting out of the start. Food was typical Applebee's. Ok read more

The weather is 30 degrees in late November with 50 mph winds and we were seated directly by the to go doors in the back of the restaurant. While waiting for our table to be wiped off I counted 13 tables cleaned off and ready in various sections of the restaurant. Everytime they opened the to go door fridged cold air came rushing past our table blowing napkins all over the place. Our server was nice enough but neglected to take old plates out of the way even after we piled them towards the edge of the table. Our table didn't have a credit card machine so we had to wait for the cluster at the waiter station to fizzle out before we got our check. Food was decent. Wife's fiesta lime chicken was good, but my 3 cheese penne chicken was burnt, dry, and not warm. You could tell they microwaved it right before bringing it out as the sauce was piping hot. read more

I hadn't been there in a while. Some people told me they had gone down hill. I gave them a chance. I was seated right away. But after waiting 20 minutes for a waitress, that never showed to my table, I left. I ended up having a nice lunch, somewhere else. I won't be going back. read more

Only giving 1 star because I have to. This place is Such a joke. Applebee's itself is a great restaurant because it has a wide variety of options. Every single time I've came to Kearney's Applebee's I always leave questioning why they hell we chose that place to eat. We arrive and it's just about 5:30, it's not busy yet. We order, waiter is kind, but already seems stressed. We get our appetizer right away. Restaurant is still not full, our area isn't either. Waiter comes back 10 minutes later asking if we are ready to order. Duh. We order two kids meals and a 2 for 20 deal. Two other families sit down after we ordered. We wait, patiently.30 minutes later the two families receive their food. We still haven't. 45 mins in our waiter comes and says the kitchen staff is overwhelmed and it'll be another 1-2 minutes. 20 minutes later we receive our food. I'm more annoyed that he said the kitchen staff was overwhelmed, mostly because how do two families with more orders receive their meal before us? Just admit you forgot.. This isn't the first time we've waited for an hour for our food. I don't even want to know what the staff is like when they are actually overwhelmed and busy. I don't recommend this Apple bee's location. read more

Great place to go hard with the bois. Not enough goth hostesses but it is Nebraska so I'll let it slide. After a couple vodka crans you'll be wanting to slam a shot rumpleminze which they unfortunately don't have and sometimes if you play Limp Bizkit on the jukebox they turn it off. Otherwise I'd give them a four or five star. read more

All the wait staff looked like they had not showered to go to work .. hygiene looked TERRIBLE. When you work in the food industry - please look clean , especially clothes and hair .. no one wants to see pillow head , or dirty hair in a bun . Same with uniform - please use a clean uniform every time you work . Floors were dirty - our kiosk looked like it was cleaned with a WET dirty rag . Food was terrible. I would say zero stars - one is being generous read more

I don't eat at very many Applebee's, so when my friend and I knew we were passing though Kearney on our drive to Chicago, we made a point to stop at this location. In a town that has every conceivable chain restaurant, gas station, and big box retail store, Applebee's is a stand-out for its broad menu. The chicken parmesan was just so-so. And the strawberry lemonade was like drinking pure sugar water, with no signs of real strawberries anywhere. But they did have free refills, in a variety of flavors. And very friendly staff! read more

For some reason I keep giving Applebee's chances. They are what they are...not great...not the worst, but they'll do in a pinch. I personally haven't ever been fond of their meals. My husband loves the new burger with egg on it and that is his go to when we go to Applebee's. I generally just stick with the appetizers....the shrimp, boneless wings, chicken wanton tacos, and green beans are usually what I'll choose from. So if you are looking for a fabulous meal, it wouldn't be my recommendation. Though it does lend itself to group settings because of the variety on their menu. Just limit your expectations as it is a chain restaurant so plan accordingly. read more

I don't go to the Kearney Applebee's any longer. Occasionally the food and the service is very good but that is rare. Most of the time I either have to wait for over an hour for my food, my order is fulfilled incorrectly, or the food is very bad. Occasionally they hit the trifecta. It has happened enough that I don't like going there hoping for one of the uncommon very good experiences because I feel like a sucker when I am disappointed. I would love it if Applebee's would consistently be the restaurant they are on the occasional good day when they get it all together. read more

I took my 18 month old grandson there to have a nice lunch and be waited on. My salad was overdressed. The service was not very good. not Once did our waitress check on us. I had to search for her to even pay the bill. She did not get a good tip. read more

Our server, Valerie G. was AMAZING & made our dinner & travels worth it today. We have been on the road traveling for the past several days & have had HORRIBLE experiences with not only poor food, but poor service. This young lady made up for it all. She treated us great from the minute we were seated by bringing us appetizer plates (no one seems to believe in that anymore) & getting our drink order immediately. Our drinks were kept filled & although busy, she continually checked on us to ensure our meal was what we'd ordered (COVID has made excuses for servers to check in with you less & less). The food was properly prepared & arrived at the table correct & hot (another thing that is seriously lacking now days). As we were finishing up she offered desert & to go containers, which she brought quickly. She ensured we enjoyed our meal, helped package our leftovers & was professional the entire time. This waitress gave me hope that there still is great restaurant employees out there. When I pay for a meal out I expect it to be prepared correctly and served hot & with pleasant professionalism. She NAILED IT!! Her manager is very lucky to have her as an employee & I wish I'd had the means to more than triple her much deserved tip. Go see Val on Thursday night at Applebee's in Kearney- you will not be disappointed! read more

Every time we come here the services seems to get slower and slower. We waited 10 mins for someone to ask for drinks, then another 20 approximately for our order to be made. This place isn't even busy...like why the long wait!? read more

This is the 2nd time I have ordered carside to go! Trying to grab a quick supper before heading home on a cold chilly day. I again ordered the pub pretzels as they are my fav! Again I get home and none of the cheese to dip them in. First time I got nothing.....this time I got some sort of honey mustard dressing! Seriously! They are not the same without the cheese dipping sauce! If you can't handle a call in order - DON"T TAKE THEM!! I could go back out and go back and complain - by it is way to cold out! I have paid for what I ordered! And Applebees just can't seem to get it right! Will NEVER order from them again! read more

Horrible service car side. Said food ready in 20 min waited another 25 min after that nothing went inside food sitting on table by door got it and it was cold. 15$ for a cold steak no bigger than a cigarette pack (literally) cold broccoli and potato's. Don't wast your time or money. Taco Bell next door will offer you better food and service. read more

We weren't not sure about this Applebee's when we first walked in, had a 10 minute wait, yet many tables were available. They were definitely lacking in staff.
