We just wanted to sit and talk before eating so I suggested Applebee's because they had "something for everyone." Parking was easy. Clean parking lot. We were seated by a very nice young hostess right away. When we left, though, she looked at me. I smiled. She was scowling after speaking with a fellow employee. C'mon girl! Shape up big girl style. We had the nicest waitress we could've asked for... she was patient. Kind. Took care of us quickly. However, I noticed we were charged an apple juice ($1.99) that they didn't have. Our Meal: + "Tipsy Zombie ($5.00) + Fiesta lime chicken ($14.99) + Kid's pineapple juice ($.99) + Kid's milk - do not recommend if you prefer your child has whole or 2%. This was 1% in a bottle. Yuck. ($1.99) + Kid's meal - chicken finger's & mozzarella cheese sticks ($6.79) + Kid's meal - mac n cheese with yogurt & strawberries ($6.79) It was an okay meal overall. One of the few places open in Hobbs past 8 pm... one things about Applebee's is that it's consistent and you know what you're getting. Our group liked their margaritas and there were happy hour drink specials after 9 pm. I got the chicken tender smaller plate with fries. The rest of our group got the alfredo pasta, 4 cheese mac and cheese tenders, and a steak. Our waitress was friendly, but unfortunately, we were witness to a bar fight. A long awaited visit to this Hobbs Applebee's...reunited and it felt so good! I visited this Applebees right after trying my luck at the casino and needless to say this Applebees is one of my favorites to go dine at. We began the sampler appetizer and it was delicious! After a great start up, my order of Parmesan Shrimp and Sirloin with loaded mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables arrived at our table, it was mouthwatering and tasted great, steak has a ridge of fat otherwise the food was great, yet again Applebees isn't too notorious for steaks so what did I expect. lol All in all, the SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT AND SO WAS THE FOOD, EXCEPTIONAL APPLEBEES, I DO RECOMMEND IT IF IN THE AREA. read more

The perfect margarita is always a winner, although they forgot the garnish on my drink...that is what makes the drink "perfect". I ordered French onion soup, delicious! I ordered the pub pretzels...they must have been sitting for a while because the pretzels looked "wilted" and they were not crispy. Service was good. read more

We were seated immediately and were so happy that we didn't have to wait. That should have been our first clue. Our appetizer came fairly quick. Our food took a ridiculous amount of time to get to our table. When they handed my granddaughter her plate they failed to mention that the plate was hot and she burned her hand. When we let the plate runner know she seemed upset that we let her know what happened and she never apologized. They didn't bring her fries with her burger and when she bit into her burger it was very pink inside. We returned her burger back to the kitchen. Her fries finally came out and shortly after the new burger followed. The entire time, our waiter was speaking to his friends who were seated behind us instead of tending to our needs. We tried several times to get his attention. When he finally came, his friends were talking about us in Spanish. Guess they didn't know I could understand them! Yelpers are right! Worst Applebee's that I have been to. I took a chance since this was the only place open beyond 10pm. I have had bourbon steak at other Applebee's but what they served at this Applebee's was absolutely tasteless and ill prepared piece of meat. I just had the potatoes which came with it and left. It's an Applebee's, but it's in Hobbs, NM. When you find yourself in Hobbs, finding a place you can relax and enjoy a decent, reasonably healthy meal is hard to do. I think the bartender's name is Kayla (?), and she is awesome! She remembers your drink order from your last visit. She times meals well. And she never makes you feel rushed. Other details: Happy hour is 3-6. It's next to the Fairfield Inn. There are some TVs in the bar area. They have karaoke some nights. read more

The food is good...it's a chain, so not awe-inspiring, but it's pretty good. The service...hit and miss. Sometimes OK, sometimes pretty poor, seems very random. It's nearly the only restaurant/night spot open past 10 or 11 PM on weekends, so it gets REALLY busy on Friday/Saturday nights. Update (10/13/13): They switched drink vendors...no more Dr. Pepper. Still don't have sweetened iced tea (most places here have added it). Killed karaoke night. Lately the service has been worse, not better. No problem getting a table, placing an order or getting our first round of beverages. After that -- wow. Service was just awful. Our waitress had the personality of a cardboard box and talked so quietly we had difficulty understanding what she was saying (this was mid-afternoon on a Saturday, so it's not like the restaurant was full and noisy). We had to request drink refills and remind her of a portion of our table's order. Once we were served, however, it got even worse. She vanished (oh, she was waiting on other tables, but never looked our way). We waited a half-hour to get our ticket. The food was mediocre at best. I had the Chicken Frescheta (sp?). The chicken tasted great, but the accompanying foods were not so good. How can you mess up white rice? Blek. The sad thing? My son and his friends (with whom I was dining) had eaten at the same restaurant a year ago and had experienced a similarly bad visit.
