I ordered an 8oz steak and it was really bad.. tough and cold on the inside.. you know it's bad when you literally have to tear a piece off when trying to eat.. Medium rare with a little pink inside.. yea I know.. but this was the chewiest steak I've ever had... usually when eating this typed of cooked steak it's easy to cut easy to eat.. supposed to basically dissolve in your mouth when eating.. but that's when the chef knows what he's doing.. this steak I think was cooked in a jar placed in the dishwasher.. this was like chewing gum.. just kept chewing and chewing.. you should be able to bite a piece off with no problem without having to tear it off.. but this steak was torturing to eat.. I couldn't eat anymore.. 3 pieces and done.. this steak wasn't salvageable at all, steamed broccoli was horrible, it was hard for something SUPPOSED to be STEAMED! Where was this chef from? Overall, my experience with this location has been pleasant throughout the years. However, yesterday's (6/17/26) encounter left me disappointed and disrespected. My family and I were served by Tajae, who made it very clear that she was exhausted and did not want to serve us--not once did she smile, and she was very cold in her responses. As someone who has worked in the customer service industry, I know how draining some days may be. Nevertheless, I would never make innocent customers feel like a "burden"? I still left a tip because we are all human, but in the future, I hope to be served with some respect and a little more enthusiasm. read more

I visited this location yesterday 11/4/25 For dinner with a few of my colleagues Let's just say I was very disappointed with my food. My fries taste old. And when they gave me a second plate of fries it tastes like they deliberately put a lot of salt and pepper on it. I also order the riblet meal. The ribs were hard and chewy. I was only able to take one bite. It was a turn off. And my coworker order a chicken quesadilla and her chicken was missing on her quesadilla. The manager came out to check. The manager came out to explain what happened to the chicken on my coworker's plate. But didnt even asked us how was our food. I will not go back to this establishment. Arrived at about 9:10/9:15, got sat and then never was addressed by our server until 9:25. This was only for her to say she would "be with us in a moment". She came back multiple times for other tables and we never got any sort of order taken. We got up to leave and a man who seemed like the manager asked if everything was alright. We said we never got served. He stared at us and didn't say anything else so we walked on out! 15 min drive there, 30 mins of waiting for nothing, and another 15 min drive home. I'm not the biggest fan of these chain style restaurants such as Applebee's, Chili's or TGIF but, I had a gift card and they have late night happy hour. I really enjoyed myself during happy hour at this location. this is one of those restaurants where you can tell that is short staffed. Nevertheless this team pulled it together and worked very hard to make everything goes smooth and it did. Our server was a bartender and she also cleaned tables. Everyone was pitching in! I had the double fried Thai chili wings we both enjoyed them. The drinks are weak but at least they were cool and timely. $6 per Long Island iced tea you need 3 to equal one purchased elsewhere. $18 for one Long Island island ice tea. When I return again? This was easily one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in Media. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance felt tired and neglected. Instead of lively, it felt drained--like everyone there, staff included, was just waiting for the night to end. Service was slow and uncoordinated. We waited a long time just to be greeted, and after ordering, long gaps passed with no updates or check-ins. When food finally arrived, it felt rushed and careless, as if the kitchen was trying to push plates out rather than actually make a meal. There was no warmth or attentiveness, which only made the experience feel more frustrating. The food itself was the biggest letdown. Waiter was very unprofessional. I had ordered the shrimp and Parmesan sirloin. The waiter even said "ooh surf and turf." Minutes later he comes back and says he forgot to ask if I wanted 6 or 8 oz. I said 8, but that I thought that selection came with 8 oz (on the menu it says the meal came with 8 oz steak). But he already was walking away after I said 8. That kept happening. I had asked for some bread and wanted to confirm the price. He said would confirm the price and get back to me. The next time he came he had brought me my water but walked away when I wanted to confirm the price of the bread. Every time I wanted to ask something he's always walking away. When he finally brought my food (which was wrong, it was the top sirloin with no shrimp Parmesan, and the wrong size sirloin as well, the 6 oz) he didn't bring any utensils. Says he would be back, and he was, several minutes later. Thankfully in the meantime another gentleman had given me utensils and even gave me A1 sauce for my steak. Everything took a long time, from him even getting to my table to ask about selections, bringing water etc. He also said something along the line of waiting for my guest to arrive when I had said I was dining alone. We were driving through this area and decided to stop because we were so hungry. We immediately got treated which was good but when we sat down we figured someone would atleast be told someone would be right with us or got our drinks but no. Our waitress went by us atleast 10 times and did not once acknowledge us. The place was not too busy. After 15 min of no contact we decided to leave. While walking out there was 3 staff members sitting at the host podium drinking their drinks laughing and ignoring. No one questioned us while leaving. Would not recommend. read more

Went for dinner out with the wife and our daughter. We're partial to local restaurants but we rotate and occasionally drop in here as our daughter likes it. We recognize Applebee's is a very average chain restaurant and just a bit less expensive than other places so we don't expect a lot. It was Sunday and the place was less than half full. We ordered an appetizer combo & 3 entrees from our waitress (not wanting to order on the touchscreens they have placed on the tables). After about 1/2 hr. two other servers brought out everything at once, and none of it was hot. We said "you're really bringing our entrees with our appetizers?" They both responded "well, sure" - and one of them was an older gentleman who appeared to be the supervisor/manager. This is certainly not the first (or third) time we've had order/service screw-ups here, but at least the wait staff used to recognize when something was wrong and apologize. We're done with Applebee's - there are just too many other places to dine. read more

It saddenme to say that since the last time we was here at Applebee's things was great. Tonight have shown how Covid have brought the place way down to 2 stars from the 5 that is was. Our server was great & always kept a smile & made sure we was ok. She even seen our plates & took them back without us asking but they still came back the same & I was ready to go. Tonight we went to celebrate my birthday wkend. The drink was great for sure. The apps was a -1 for sure. The Cheeto chicken boneless tenders was the worst apps I've gotten from any restaurant ever. They fried the chicken first & than put the Cheeto bits on top of it. It was full of grease & nasty. We ordered the Chicken Penne and it was the worst we ever had. It was worst than ordering it for delivery. Both was cold as hell, NOT EVEN ROOM TEMPERATURE. ‍‍. My chicken was still pink in the middle & the bread sticks that came with it was cold & hard. It made me so sick to the stomach that I couldn't finish my drink & was ready to go home ASAP. I say now that Applebee's is off of my list of places to eat at. Everything went well! The entire restaurant staff! We had a large party! Of course no one was on time. The host alone was extremely pleasant(sorry didn't her name African American young lady blonde hair, also she had another coworker young lady help also). The bartender/server was extremely impressive, he had to take 20 orders without writing one thing down, it blew the kids and adults minds. He was able to properly manage the bar along with our party as well without appearing overwhelmed at all. And the manager was the icing on the cake! He continued to show attention to our party came over quite a few times asking was everything ok! These are the type of staff members that needs to be retained along with recognize. Mix and match appetizers is one of the things these folks do. On a recent visit I gave it a shot and let's just say there's room for improvement. But the bartender saved the day! Read on. So for my three for $12.50 I ordered Pot Stickers, Kobe-Style Meatballs and Sweet & Spicy Pickles. From low to high, here are the results. Pot Stickers- Forgettable and abysmal. Served on a bed of chopped wilted lettuce with brown edges they could barely be called food. I would rate them -1 star. Meatballs- This is the second time I have ordered these and I have found them acceptable. I would order them again. The portion size is decent. The meatballs are moist. You get a piece of bread to sop up the sauce. 3 stars. Pickles- This may be the cheapest item on the menu at $2.99 but damm they are good! This is what cucumbers were born to do. Lots of heat and the perfect bar snack. 6 stars. To accompany this feast I was drinking house margaritas which, once you got past the ice, were way over-priced for what you received. Let's talk about the bartender. OMG. Sweet baby Jesus, black Spandex never looked so good! This woman could have served me sawdust with motor-oil gravy and I would have asked for seconds! I'm a bit surprised the rating is not higher. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and the place had people but not as packed as I expected. Plenty of parking in this strip mall. The staff was nice and greeted us as we entered. There were plenty of roomy booths. The bar section was really nice. Kid has a childs meal which was $5 which included a main dish, side and drink. Hubby and I had the 2 for $25. Appetizers (mozzarella sticks -yummy). Hubby enjoyed his meal which was half baby back ribs and two sides. I had the bourbon chicken and shrimp which came w/ baked red potatoes. We all left full and enjoyed our meals. Our server Chris was very attentive. It was nice having the pay machine on your table so we can pay as soon as we were done. Unfortunately we had to pay since I had a gift card but that was not a big deal. Will I be back. Went o 3/29/24 at 2 pm service was over solicited very annoying coming over every 5 minutes there were not busy at all! Food was ok paid our check gave server 10$ cash tip more than 20% of the bill when I get my credit card statement it showed a 7$tip was added which I did not do!! Called corporate they opened a ticket said someone would call 1 to 4 days no real apology or sense of urgency.I called the location supposedly talk to a mangers he said he would fix with in 24 hours! However no apology until I said this was unacceptable and it was stealing and I am sure I was not the first person this happened too. I know some people don't tip however I am not one of them In fact I tip better than most. I told the "Manager" we would not be back he said that it was a shame and he would talk to the server. Ty was amazing!! She made me laugh so hard! Best server I've ever had in my life. She gave us a little hand heart when she gave us the check, and in hindsight I should have given her one too! Food was good, though some was cold. It seemed a little understaffed, so I understand why it was. Been there, been there. Greatest experience at an Applebee's. Everything else has just been decent, or waiting forever even when the restaurant is empty. I'm moving closer to this location so I hope to see her and her amazing service again. It was a SPECIAL WEEKEND for me/my family & we decided to go to Haverford Applebee's just for the "All you can eat boneless chicken". The staff & waiter (Earl C.) were WONDERFUL however; we were told by Manager Harold the special was over. After having a near $95. bill we decided to look into this matter. Mehhh, it's Applebee's. Good for drunk food, bad for pretty much anything else. They can't really control the crowd they're given, which is surprising because it's the middle of Delco and there's almost no competition in the immediate area and one would think you'd get used to 9 pm crowds of people clamoring for the "Dollaritas" that taste like glorified Kool-Aid. Okay, I'm already rambling, but one big reason I'd rather go to McDonald's than get a burger from here is that the burgers keep getting smaller, the sides are getting even more skimpy, and yet the price stays the same or gets even higher. This "specialty" burger my table collectively got was nothing but burger and cheese despite it supposed to have bacon in it (or something to that effect) but for some reason, the garden of the sandwich isn't automatically included. My only complaint with Applebees in the past has been the long wait for service and food, but I did not encounter either problems this time. I used to live across the street so this would be my 30+ times here, I just never wrote a review. My server, Kristen, was remarkable. She checked in on our table 5 times since we sat down and providers exceptional service. All my requests were met promptly and happily. I believe she has been employed here for only 2 months, but she is better than most waitresses I've had here. For our meal we ordered the boneless wings, bourbon street chicken and shrimp and half rack of ribs from the 2 for $25 menu. The appetizer was deliciously crispy and the elk sauced. The bourbon came out sizzling hot and smelled wonderful. The ribs were "pretty good but a bit bland though," according to my companion. read more

I will start by saying that this isn't a place I would choose to go but my friend wanted to go so I tagged along. We ordered margaritas. They come out in a shaker so you get more than one glass. Extremely sweet and not a lot of alcohol. I had one glass and gave the rest to my friend. I ordered the shrimp wonton stir fry which is on the lighter fare menu. I actually was pleasantly surprised and I enjoyed it a lot. However, it was missing a main ingredient. ..the wonton strips. I didn't really care so didn't say anything. I would order this again. As far as chains go, this is a pretty good choice. I would certainly pick it over some of the others. And after this last experience, I would be more inclined to go back. I truly do not understand all the negative reviews. We had the best experience at this Applebee's! Visited around 2pm on a Monday, so you can imagine it was pretty empty. Our waitress was really nice. We also ordered the dollar vodka strawberry lemonades, which I absolutely recommend, absolutely delicious. We did the 2 for 26, (wow, I remember when it was 2 for 20 for all the entrees.) portions were perfect, just the right amount of food and cooked to perfection. My favorite menu item at Applebee's will always be the boneless wings. They were fantastic: saucy, crispy, . The restaurant was clean and inviting. It also played fun music. My only complaint was it was Kind of a small/ stressful parking lot but tolerable. We will definitely be back! read more

Hello Yelp Family!!!! I am a member of the Outreach Ministry at my church. We pass out tracts to people that we see and meet. Our group decided three weeks ago that we would like to fellowship at a restaurant. One of the ladies in the group suggested that we go to Applebee's. She was referring to the location on City Line Avenue in the City Line Shopping Center. But our church has visited that location several times and I have patronized that location with my family. So we, it was two other ladies and myself, decided to try this location in Havertown, on West Chester Pike. This Applebee's is surrounded by Staples, Acme, a cleaners, etc located in the Manoa Shopping Center. We arrived around 1:20 pm today, Saturday, August the 17th and we were promptly greeted by a host. This gentleman showed us to a table and promptly a server came over, introduced herself and asked us if we wanted anything to drink. One of the ladies asked for mango ice tea, the other lady asked for raspberry tea and I asked for frozen lemonade, classic flavor. I was checking out the calories on the menu. We then proceeded to order when our server, Nesrine W. came back with our drinks. One of the ladies ordered a quesa burger, the other lady ordered a strawberry salad with all of the trimmings and I ordered the bourbon blackened chicken and shrimp. All of the ladies enjoyed their food. My chicken and shrimp were simply divine. I am not a big fan of Applebee's, I would have selected another restaurant, but Applebee's is making a believer out of me! There is plenty of parking here. The restaurant was clean. The atmosphere was light and quiet, probably because we selected a time when many other people were not there. I have enclosed our receipts which we paid for separately. My bourbon chicken and shrimp were $17.49 and the frozen lemonade was $3.49. The mango iced tea was $2.99 and the quesa burger was $7.99. The raspberry iced tea was $2.99 and the salad was $12.99. As a rule, I don't eat at Apple Bees, but the people I was meeting were on a budget so I met them there...Dirty. The booth had crumbs on the seats, and the window had greasy child's smeary fingerprints all over it. When I made a comment about it, one server sprung into action..sort of.by spraying Windex on a rag and proceeded to clean the windows at neighboring tables. that video console thing on the table was smeared up and greasy as well. How appetizing, I refused to touch it. 24 hours after eating there, I've had symptoms of food poisoning, I could shit through the eye of a needle. No need to call them on it. I'll just stick to my mantra of never eating in chain places like this again. It wasn't even cheap for that matter for my friends sake. read more
