Inedible Chicken Parmesan Fettuccine.

This is supposed to be chicken with Alfredo penne pasta. It was not edible. Absolutely disgusting! I can't believe Applebees would serve this slop to their customers! Not acceptable!

Classic Bacon Cheeseburger

The good is we received our meal which looked phenomenal. The taste is a different story. Not saying it was bad nor good. The presentation was all there. The waiter was really nice once the waiter got to our food. So the service was okay once it was there. I even forgot my phone and they brought it to me right before we left so that was really nice. The Bad We were seated promptly after, I guess not so promptly, but after putting our name on the wait list and waiting about 25 minutes or so, we were seated in a booth surrounding other tables who were being actively waited on. I watched the waiters speaking and laughing and joking with other tables around us while we sat with our baby. My husband and I, I mean just we, sat together and did the entire word search and all the other games on the kids menu before even being greeted by a server. We finished all the games on the menu without a server greeting us still or getting us water or anything to the point where a table got sat right behind us and within less than a minute a server was at their table taking their drink orders. So I decided to turn to her and let her know that nobody has greeted us and she was kind of nonchalant about her response, but she said, oh I'm sorry about that, I can help you out. So it was clear that she wasn't supposed to be our server, we must have been in a different server section, but she did help us out which was really nice and she ended up being our server the rest of the time. We think we saw our real server come up with silverware like 20 minutes after we had already been seated and then she looked all confused and then we saw her walk away looking all confused as to why another server took her table. Well maybe she shouldn't have taken 20 minutes to get to us. The food was pretty bland compared to what we're used to eating, but the fries were pretty good. That's all the bad.

Four Cheese Macaroni and cheese

Applebee's and Chili's similar type restaurants. Unfortunately, these chains have been around a while and it shows. You can smell dirty, musty carpet when you walk in. Its dark wood and window coverings and tables, chairs, seem old and in need of a good steam clean. Food prep has always been a joke for chains. Talk of microwaves and such to meet the demand. Our kids seem to like it. It was their choice this visit. The oriental chicken salad was not as I remembered. It was laden with too much dressing. It used to be the freshest salad on the menu. Our daughter did enjoy the four cheese mac n cheese with chicken. Her go to. This visit reminded me why its normally not on our rotation. Unsweetened iced tea was good. Service was ok.

Bourbon cajun steak. Well done (eyeroll)

Well, it was okay. I guess. Not busy at all, middle of the day. I stopped in with steak on the brain. I cannot say that I was very impressed with what I was seeing in the menu. That's what I get for going to Applebee's for a steak. I ordered it medium. It came well done. I felt something inside me start crying. The price was about $17. The server was rather nice and super cool and took ten bucks off. She asked if I wanted another steak, but I wasn't trying to stay there going into rush hour, so no. The parmesan string beans were good enough. The parking is weird. A whole side is almost entirely dedicated to to-go orders. I don't care about coming here again. It wasn't the worst, but it's just not the best restaurant by a longshot. Okay bye.

Quesadilla Burger and fries

I stopped going to our local Applebee's but the Fuquay Varina location, really knows their stuff. My Quesadilla Burger was fantastic! A warm/grilled tortilla held a cooked to order burger, 2 pcs of pepper jack, crispy bacon, mexi ranch and shredded lettuce. Talk about a drippy taste sensation!! The fries and ranch were also good and the service was great! My sister got the chicken fingers. To me they looked like freezer fingers. The menu does not mention that they are hand breaded, so you know what to expect. She said they were good and the small portion was generous. @applebees

Food isn't really worth the price. The tastes are just "ok". That's the best way to put it.

Terrible food and service. An hour an a half for two people and another 30 minutes waiting for the check. Seriously awful. We won't be back

If you want to go play pool, obviously this is the place to go. It's a pretty clean location that…read moredoesn't smell like a dirty bathroom. You walk in and you have tables and look on your right and there's plenty of pool tables to pick from. There is a pretty large bar that during the time we were there had three bartenders. I used the restroom while my husband and his friend went up to the bar and apparently there was a bit of an issue with the snarky bartender. I'm not sure why there would be an issue with ordering the drinks. Two vodka lemonades is pretty basic. They both found those drinks disgusting. Ordering drinks the rest of the time we were there was like pulling teeth. if you can't pull one out you try to go to another one and then another one and yet you still can't get anywhere. That was our experience with these bartenders. I went up there and asked the female bartender for two Bacardi Cokes. She disappeared to the other side of the bar and started serving other people. She never made our drinks. Then the snarky bartender came up to me and I asked him for the same two drinks. He said OK give me a minute..... I'm standing up there for 10 minutes and he's literally just serving everybody else. He never served me the two drinks. The guys at the bar next to me, started making comments about how horrible the bartenders are, and they started to yell at the bartender to get their attention. Very nice gentleman. Another bartender took my exact same order and he made me two Bacardi Cokes served in beer glasses. One shot of Bacardi and way too much coke served in a beer glass. From a previous bartender this is extremely incorrect. The correct way to handle it is, asking if you wanted one shot or two shots And would you like it in a tall or short glass? If you don't ask automatically, you should have it in a short glass with one shot of Bacardi and a couple of shots of Coke from your spray gun. I'm also going to take a wild guess that they have not cleaned the spraygun in a very long time because the quality of sodas that were coming out of it were pretty bad. Clean your bar correctly. I'm guessing nobody really gives a shit. We came here to play pool, order quite a few drinks because these two men can handle a there liquor and just hang out on this Thanksgiving weekend. It wasn't even busy. The lack of quality gives you my three star review because of how horrible all three of your bartenders were. I should've minus a star per bartender. I have never seen multiple bartenders just completely spaced out and forget that you even placed an order with them... at the same bar. Whatever you're on dude you need to layoff on the stuff.

Famous Toastery, has become our "come back to" place after just 1 visit. From the soft bright…read moreinviting decor, the cleanliness, comfortability with padded seats, polite and attentive staff, the front of the house manager (i'm guessing) who was keeping operations organized, the friendly and great to talk to owner Larry, and right on down to the rewarding selections of food. It should be noted that "All items can be made gluten free". This place checked off our "boxes". My first observation after being seated, was their coffee machine; it's Lavazza coffee!!!! One of the best Italian coffees you'll find; that's all my family buys. The owner Larry, stated "people say there's 2 absolute favorites that people come back for, the coffee and............the bacon". We agree that not only is the coffee an obvious winner, but the bacon.....OHHHHH THEEeee Bacon!!!! I've recently completed cancer treatments, which has caused me to struggle with food, and found that my tastebuds are quick to alert me to high salts, nitrites/nitrates, msg, basically chemicals. Well, Famous Toastery was my very first breakfast out (2nd meal) in over 7 months and not 1 time did i put the bacon down; or anything for that matter. Nice hearty, meaty, non sizzle on your tounge bacon!! Due to my condition, i didn't "eggspect" to find much on the menu that i'd be able to enjoy but, once i saw the all time classic breakfast it was game on. The "First Responder", comes with 3 scrammbled eggs with cheddar, served with bacon and sausage. You can request "egg whites" for $1. Each item under the "Eggs" list come with your choice of breakfast potatoes, grits, or fruit, and a choice of toast. Along with this, i ordered the "Famous French Toast", which is 3 slices of Texas toast ligjtly dusted with powdered sugar. Ok, you ready for the syrup!?!? Real.....Maple.....Syrup. No high fructose sludge!!! Lastly, the orange juice. Ladies & Gentlemen, Famous Toastery squeezes their OJ, fresh to order! C'mon, How can you not start to love this place already? Secondly, we ordered the Meditteranean Quesadilla, which was on the specials menu. Wow, that was a delicious choice. Scrammbled eggs, feta, pepper jack, cheddar, spinach, onions, and roasted peppers inside a grilled tortilla, with a side of salsa and sour cream. This is not a flimsy, thin quesadilla. It's also not too thick, but it was juuuuust right. If you're not in the mood for breakfast, they also have sandwiches and wraps. While talking with Larry, i mentioned seeing they have a "Reuben" on the menu. Well, Larry peaked my interest by stating "they cook their corn beef DAILY...... in house!!!!!!!! Omg yesssssssss!! Also offered as a substitue, if you're not a corn beefer, is roasted turkey! I could keep going but, you've read enough if you got this far . Now, take your hungry appetite on down to Famous Toastery, in Fuquay-Varina, and get your grub on! They are located in the same shopping center as Kohls, so no worries on parking as they have plenty!!

Famous Toastery has a lot of potential, but the overall experience can be frustrating. The food is…read moreokay--nothing particularly memorable, but decent enough if you're just looking for a casual breakfast or brunch. Where things fall short is the service. It tends to be slow, and getting your server's attention can be a challenge. Paying the bill ends up feeling like a project, with long waits just to close out. If service improved, it would make a big difference, but as it stands, the experience doesn't quite match the expectations.
