I sat on this review for several days to write from a place where my emotions were in check. The mark of good management is how a problem is handled. In short, our server was likely having a bad day. After leaving my table, I said to my sister (we were a party of 4), "why is she so b1tchy??" My hubby and I had arrived a bit later than my sister, and I was curious whether I had missed something. The server loudly confronts from across the room. I responded that "yes, (her) attitude has been terrible since we sat down." Manager cones over. He's arrogant, confrontational, and made efforts to be intimidating. My sister/hubby are retired, and hubby/I are professionals; hardly "crap starters." Manager must have realized his middle school problem solving skills were inadequate, our server once again took over with an improved demeanor. I give her credit for getting it together. Sometimes our life spills over and we take it out at work.. she was a professional and caught herself. Kudos. We tipped. The manager, however, is not a good fit. I would highly suggest a non-customer facing position. Ambiance is typical Applebees, as was the food. read more

This location is better than the rest when it comes to service, the wait to be seated and served is a lot better here.

Me and my best friend were sat at a table, the lady at the front was extremely nice! However the Second Lady who had served us, her tone was off, I ignored it. We put our drinks in, a Spiked lemonade, (it was an adult beverage) it genuinely tasted like water with a lemon in it and a shot of sprite. I asked them to remake it and the man at the bar got upset and yelled at the lady who was serving us. Then we got mozzarella sticks with blonde hair in it, we both have black hair. She apologized and remade it for us. We had also ordered a pepsi and lemonade as well never received it until we half way finished out plates and we had to remind her. It was not busy that day it had a total of 5 families of three that day. I will definitely not be going back read more

Decent food. Usually we eat there because takeaway is usually cold by the time we get home. Menu doesn't change but that's typical American fare. read more

We come here twice a week for happy hour or dinner specials. Good food at reasonable prices. We sit at the bar and service is excellent. Great value for your money. read more

Just a bad experience at this Buffalo Rd Applebees. Wasn't busy at all when we went. Food was terrible. Steak was ordered well done and I specifically mentioned to the waitress to make sure the food was hot. Steak came very bloody with blood juices all over the plate. Mashed potatoes were so cold the butter wouldn't even melt and the green beans were just a soggy mess. Other Applebees are so much better. This one needs a new cook. Overheard waitress saying to another waitress before we even ordered that she thinks people complain just to get a discount...duh maybe they complain because the food REALLY IS THAT BAD! No discount was asked for or given but come on you need to do better. My companion was completely finished with his dinner before my steak came back. Nothing like going out to dinner with someone and then not even eating at the same time. read more

Last time I ate at Applebee's I had the Asian chicken salad which looked wonderful I came home and threw it up two hours later. They've also had a number of dumpster fires I don't believe this location will ever get it together if you really want to eat at Applebee's 12th and peninsula is the best one in Erie read more

Applebees on Buffalo rd is the best one! Stephanie always takes great care of us. the food is delicious every time.

I just got back from dining with my son and our waitress was Shari! She was an absolute pleasure and made our time out to eat really enjoyable! Definirely 5 stars from me in terms of service! read more

Typically I hate coming to chains, and having a bad experience from this Applebee's I was skeptical of Going. It was a busy Saturday night, and the kitchen messed up the order. The manager Shannon immediately took care of the situation, had the correct meal out in under 5 minutes and comped us the entire bill. Will definitely return again! read more

A little off key for timing of the food and the caesar salad only had croutons and dressing. They also added an extra order of mozzarella sticks to the order. Quite the shit show. Understandably they were polite and made it right but should be properly staffed on holiday if they expect to be open. The previous manager was much more prepared for all occassions. read more

I'm a fan of Applebee's but this is the slowest one I have ever been to. I have been here on several occasions and every time I regret it. Expect to wait an hour and the chicken to not be cooked all the way. Super gross!!! read more

Waited for over 10 minutes for anyone to see us and greet us at our table. Then after clearly requesting to be seated away from children, they seat a party next to us with two children. No other kids were in the bar area either. Hmmm. Love the food maybe this is a communication issue. read more

Great mudslides steak is good. Applebees is a bit pricey but not outback steak house pricey. Whats 50.00 there is 25 at Applebees customer service is good. Drinks are average price. Menu is good but can be better. Appetizers are some of the best in the area. read more

I ordered car side carryout, first I couldn't order online, but the server Marshal was excellent. The food was ok and the prices are too high for it being just ok. If not for Marshal it would have been no stars. read more

I really love this place and food is always delicious, fresh and hot. Salads are fantastic and service has always been good. Favorite ever here is the wedge salad with the candied pecans and bacon topping over green goddess dressing...delish! Love the honey bbq chicken tenders over the Mac n cheese..... wish the 2 for $20 menu for drive thru was better.... read more

The food was delicious and quick. We had steak with grilled veggies and green beans and a soup and salad combo (chicken tortilla soup and shrimp Thai salad. Our waitress was very friendly. The atmosphere was comfortable and the restaurant was clean. read more

My waitress is the best! She is always respectful of my lunch hour, making sure the food is hot and ready quickly. Also has the check ready fast. read more

Had the in restaurant lunch special (steak, garlic green beans / bacon and fire roasted veggies) and was great. Staff were friendly and great experience. read more

Super disappointed. My husband and I purchased take out orders. We ordered the 2 for $20- spinach dip, and two oriental chicken salads. The dip came with (this is not an exaggeration) about 15 chips.... For two people. The one salad order was incorrect. I didn't take it back because by the time we opened everything we were home. Needless to say, it appears they are really skimping on their chips and/or take out orders. No matter what, every person should get the same food whether it's inside the restaurant or out. Highly disappointed. read more

Our party of four arrived at 6 PM parking lot was packed but we found a spot. We walked in and the restaurant was full we were told there would be a 10 minute wait but within a few minutes they got us a table. The hostess, waitresses and waiters were all very friendly. We were lucky to get Jeff as our waiter, he was awesome.. A couple of us got chocolate milkshakes to start. I was going to take a picture of them but they tasted so good we drank them down before I thought of it. The boneless chicken wings with blue cheese sauce were incredible, much better than the boneless wings you would get at Buffalo Wild Wings. All the meals came out hot, my Fish and Chips were great and the fries were still hot. My son's burger was good as well. My wife had some chicken and mushroom dish that she enjoyed and it looked great. And my other son had the four cheese macaroni and honey chicken fingers. That dish was pretty heavy, initially it tasted great but after eating it for a couple of minutes that got sickening, too sweet for my taste and my sons. Some people might like it. Overall the experience was great and I would recommend this restaurant! read more

See all

We ordered for a workplace lunch. One salad was completely wrong. A roll that was supposed to be garlic bread actually was moldy. And the salads were about half the size they used to be. Really not pleased. We've gone there before and it's been ok but it seems to be slipping a bit. read more

no stars from me , I've had hair in my food not once but 3 times every time I ordered really pathetic and they're nasty and don't listen ! I recommend the Applebee's on peach street not the Buffalo Rd one . read more

Went there today for an early dinner and everything was great, but mostly I'd just like to point out the awesome service we recieved from our waiter, Daniel. He was probably the best waiter we've had anywhere. Very friendly, informative and seemed genuinely interested in the guests. read more

The food was good. The service when I went there tonight was awful...had to wait forever for our server. He flirted with other girls while we were waiting for our checks. He didnt give us any napkins or refill our drinks for us while we were there for almost 2 hours. read more

So my first issue is my waitress threw away our tickets came over 30 mins later laughing I guess bcuz she found it funny second we never got refills until I raised my voice this is after asking 3 times 40 mins after that we get our food which makes us extremely sick I will not be coming back here and I will be sure to share my shitty experience with everyone I know this isn't the first time I've had a bad experience here.. THIS PLACE SUCKS!!! read more

So we chose this restaurant since my son's girlfriend is vegan and I have Celiac Disease so must be gluten free. I looked up their menu online and it said they have both vegan and gluten free menus. Once we arrived, we were told that is not the case. The server (who tried very hard to find menu items we could have) informed us there was not much we would be able to eat and the manager showed us a large notebook full of useless and undecipherable information which she then slammed shut and declared "those are your only options". We both ended up with a house salad.......which was very small and consisted of only lettuce, a few small tomato chunks and a little shredded cheese. Applebee's should really consider taking down information online that is false. Had I not seen a GF menu online earlier, we would have gone elsewhere. My point is this: Don't post it if you don't have it!!! And don't make me feel like I did something wrong because I have a real medical condition! The only reason I gave them two stars is because Jeff (the server) was very sweet and tried very hard to help us. read more
