Devils on horseback and mac n cheese - two great appetizers that equal one great meal!

Friendly service, amazing food, fast! I'm not much of a beer girl, but don't let that hinder you from checking out their menu. Highly recommend grubbing down here!

Checked into our hotel and wanted a snack. Walked right over and had amazing apps. The pulled pork nachos are as pretty as they are tasty. We also had the buffalo cauliflower and it was fabulous. Service was spot on and vibe was awesome! Perfect for the craft beer lover.

    YUCK! #disappointed #HOWCANYOUMISSTHAT?

Not sure where to start! This WAS one of my favorite local joints. I've always had a good experience, until recently. Food has always been DELISH. Until now. I think the main reason why I'm upset... is the customer service. I'm all about customer service in my business. My husband and I went for a bite to eat. This is what was handed to me. There was no discount given.. which, for the $.. for the time I waited for a new meal... definitely should have had something offered, if not FREE!!!!

Very poor first time vist...took us over 10 Minutes to be served. We ordered a pretzel and cheese beer sauce...for 3.50$ you would expect it too be not a frozen baseball park pretzel. I got a steakburger which came out cold and raw and tasted almost stale...very disappointing.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere, friendly service, good beer selection. Still, as Erie only proclaimed "gastropub," I did expect a little better food. I had the shrimp burger and it was excellent - tasty, seemed like it was fresh made, and the cucumber sauce was delicious. My girlfriend had the short rib french dip - and it was probably the worst french dip I ever had. It was so absurdly salty (even for me, and I love salt) that my girlfriend could only take a bite of it. My girlfriend's Greek pasta salad was good, but not mind-blowing, although my sausage and potato soup was very tasty. Overall, we had a fine experience - again, I loved the selection of beer, the friendly service, and being able to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful weather - but I was a little disappointed in our food. I will definitely check it out again, as there are other things on the menu I'd love the try, such as the Vietnamese pork sandwich, and update my review as such.

This brunch was delicious. The bread was delicious and perfectly toasted, the goat cheese was savory and sweet, the avocado was bright and fresh, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The sweet potato tots were a delicious side. And all of the mimosas were super yummy. As always, everything was perfect and I had no complaints.

It's permanently closed. Used to love it. But it's over. Had a great selection of taps. All kinds of craft beers.

The place is nothing fancy, and that suits me fine. Had the pork belly taco and it was delicious. Would go back and highly recommend it.

Loved the peach beer myself (just the one) and my spouse enjoy his 3 ipa's. Met good patrons, which always tells me about a place. Pickle pizza hit the spot! This place is large and has both outdoor seating on the side as well as plenty of indoor seating. The inside looked like a mix of cozy and industrial, with a long wooden bar stretching the length of the room, warm pendant lights hanging overhead, colorful beer boards on the wall, and shelves lined with bottles and glassware behind the bar. It had a relaxed but lively feel to it. After looking around to figure out where we wanted to sit, we ultimately chose the bar. For lunch on this day I chose to go with the pimento smash deluxxxe while my wife went with the pesto pizza. The menu described my meal as two smash patties, bacon, American cheese, pimento cheese, and onion rings on a brioche bun while my wife's was described as parsley basil pesto, triple cheese blend, fire roasted tomatoes with a balsamic glaze. I thought that the burger here was delicious as the patties were seasoned nicely and I appreciated the onion rings. While there was plenty of cheese and it was flavorful, I almost could have used more of the pimento. Then my wife liked her pizza here especially the pesto combined with the fire roasted tomatoes. Then for drinks, as I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I decided to go with a flight here. At Lavery Brewing, a flight consists of 6 beers and I chose the Active Recovery, Seeking Clarity, Lime n Cuke, Throwing Tropical Shade, Sound Mild, and Divine Intervention for my flight. I first started with the Active Recovery which was light and hoppy and very drinkable. Up second was the Seeking Clarity which had a clean start before a heavy dose of hops in the middle which surprisingly didn't linger. Third was the Lime n Cuke which has a strong cucumber smell and the drink itself is dry like most goses with a mild lime and stronger cucumber flavor. Fourth was Throwing Tropical Shade and you could really taste the orange and other tropical flavors with a finish flavor of coconut. For me this was a really delicious beer. Up fifth was the Sound Mild which was light but you got the nice flavor of those toasted malts at the finish. Last but certainly not least was the Divine Intervention which had a strong coconut flavor on the finish. Out of the bunch my favorite ended up being the Throwing Tropical Shade. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I both enjoyed the beverages and the food and we left both happy and stuffed.

"Hook and Hoof" has been in downtown Willoughby for quite a while so they must be doing something right. And the fact that there aren't that many high level dining establishments in the Willoughby area helps. The first thing I noticed was the facility is very narrow which lends to a crowded feel. And all you need is one overly boisterous table (which was right next to us) and the noise level can be overwhelming. The server we had for the evening was very pleasant. She did a good job being timely with everything. But, it was odd that she often did not listen to an entire request (or maybe just couldn't hear) before walking away. There were a couple of requests for simple standard items that she wasn't even sure they had. I just found it odd. The food however was excellent. The kitchen staff did an exemplary job all night. I had a marvelous cocktail from the well stocked bar. And my double cut pork chop was fantastic. So full of flavor, juicy, cooked exactly as I requested. The sides that accompanied it were just tender enough without being mushy. And my banana cream pie was great. Overall, I give "Hook and Hoof" a solid 4. I definitely can see us going back. The meatballs were good, but came out luke warm. The wedges were good. The atmosphere was nice. For 3 meatballs, 5 potato wedges, and a 15% tip (she lost 5% due to not asking us for drinks) our bill came to $45. I *wish* I was joking. We won't be back.
