I gotta start by saying if you don't know this eatery is tucked behind the main st and down the hill you just won't find it. This is my second time meeting friends here. Easy parking and access. It is laid out differently than older Applebee's and there is a full bar. No fault of theirs but the town was on some kind of water alert so they could not serve any iced tea nor serve anything that needed water. If I was the manager I would be bringing in large quantities of bottled water to make sure customers can get what they want. Our server was attentive, food tasty enough, price point a slight elevation toward high, and the restaurant was clean and accessible. I took away a star for the water issue. read more

A Bust of an Applebee's We only visited because it was open late and within walking distance of our hotel. Honestly, this visit reminded me why I don't like Applebee's. It was a Friday night, and the restaurant was practically empty. It was our table, one other table, and four people at the bar. That should have been the first red flag. The hostess was nice, but we stood there for 3-4 minutes while they figured out which server was getting cut. Once seated, I noticed employees standing around having personal conversations while there was food on the floor, dust on the window sills, and the restaurant just looked unkept despite being nearly empty. Our waitress was sweet, but service was slow. Unfortunately, the food was the biggest disappointment. It wasn't hot, wasn't presented well, and overall was just terrible. This Applebee's is a bust. I would stay FAR AWAY! If you order on uber eats then pick it up the lady at the front desk will assume you are the delivery driver and will take advantage. She omitted parts of my order then proceeded to tell me "I don't have the rest of the order because we didn't have it and the girl wouldn't pick up her phone so there's no replacement". Meanwhile since I placed the order to pick up myself it was my number that she "called". She didn't call. She was too lazy to call me and ask. I only stopped in to sit at the bar for a beer. It was empty since it had just opened on a Sunday at 11am. Bar tender was very distracted still setting up for the day which is fine as it was early. They did not have Miller lite or Coors lite on draft due to vendor issues which was a bummer. I don't like that they don't list pricing for alcoholic beverages anywhere. $10 for two Bud Light's is a little steep but seems to be the going rate these days. When my husband got back with the order, my entree was completely missing and his side dish was also not there. I contacted the restaurant and requested a refund, as I really didn't want to drive back. They refused to provide a refund or to take any responsibility for the missing items. Well.... I tried, I really did. I gave Applebees in Ephrata one more shot which unfortunately did not hit the mark...again The order was a half rack of baby back ribs with broccoli and cheese. Not too complicated..... I thought. Baby back ribs should just fall off the bone and be easy to chew. Well after ripping some meat off the chew was tough. The bark was stone hard but I will say, the sauce was delicious and it was seasoned well. The broccoli and cheese seemed like the broccoli had been sitting in cool water, and thrown into a cup, sprinkled with bag shredded cheese and served. I am not sure why it seems this restaurant can't figure things out. I give restaurants 2nd and 3rd chances all the time but this was it for Applebees. Now in all fairness I will admit there can be issues when using a delivery service however, the food should still have basic characteristics of what is served in the restaurant. We have been coming here for about a year and so and it gets worse every time. I work in a restaurant and I understand, it gets busy and you are short but I have never experienced what I experience tonight. They forgot my boyfriends drink for about 20 mins. And Gave kids cups big cups when we said little cups for them. Then we get our appetizers with no silverware and no plates and no napkins, And then we get our food and they forget to ring in his order, my Alfredo was ice cold and our nephew Alfredo was cold too. The first and last time ever! This place has terrible seating service. The wait when we got on the list was 28 mins. We decided to wait. I checked in spoke to the hostess. The app then said we had a 45 minute wait. As a party of 8 was a head of us. There was 5 tables of 4 seats available, and we had 4 and there was a ton of 2 people a head of us. No one was getting seated. Finally the table of 8 got called 10 mins later they were not seated. We ended up leaving. The 5 tables of 4 all still opened when we left. They seem to change the menu quarterly (if not more), so if you find a dish you really enjoy, try to visit a little more often, because once it's gone, it's gone, there's little chance of it coming back...... Visiting the area for the first time. Disappointed that all the steakhouses were closed on a Monday. Since Applebees was so close to my hotel I thought I'd give it a try. Everything was going well until I got my food. I ordered the Parmesan Shrimp Sirloin. Broccoli was great, but the shrimp were ice cold and the steak was so tough I could not cut or chew it. I ordered the steak medium rare. The server was apologetic and took the whole plate back for the meal to be remade. This was great. The food came back and the server dropped it off so fast that I couldn't say I didn't have silverware. She came back and asked how I liked the meal and I said I had no silverware. She said oh gosh and left. About 8 to 10 minutes later, after I ate my broccoli and shrimp with my fingers she asked me how I liked my meal and I said I still don't have my silverware. She said oh gosh and came right back with silverware. Shrimp was still very cold. The steak was much better but cold at this point. I ate the steak. Good flavor. Then my server came out with the ticket and I had asked previously to put my wine on a separate ticket. I had to wait for her to return to split the ticket. She came back and gave me a 10% discount for my experience. Sure wish there was a local steakhouse to have gone to and not a chain. Ok. So I have been going to Applebee's for years. I usually with go with family. Lately it seems Applebee's it gearing more towards a younger atmosphere. I see it's usually busy late at night. Once in awhile I will go for dinner. I love the 2 for $20. Decent portions. French onion soup isn't good tho. It really is the only place to get a steak in ephrata. Mind you you have to make sure the steak is done the way you want it when they bring it out. I like mine well done and I've received a steak that was bloody. Not good. DO NOT DO CARSIDE CARSIDE has never been a good experience for me. The food is plopped on each other. Pasta is runny. Overall not good. read more

Almost 20 mins for appetizer. Came out Luke warm, no meat on the nachos, half the chips were BURNT. Calmed down my boyfriend because at this point we're both upset. Still an hour later and food is not out. Got a waitress, told her we just wanted our food and drinks we got to pay for. She got the manager, sweet lady, took everything off but the alcohol because it is alcohol, no worries on that. I usually go here and never have an issue. Today was like stupid dumb, for no reason. I was a regular customer until the other night. On average I'm there 2 or 3 times a week. But the last 3 times I was there, the hostess must think she is preparing the boarding of Noah's Arc. She does not want to seat a single person at a table. One night I went in and ask for a table in the bar, was told they were saving them for larger groups I eat at the bar - I did and 5 tables were empty the whole time I was there (except for a group of 3 who were waiting for the 4th person the whole time I was there). The next time I was in same story no tables in bar they were holding them for bigger groups, and they were empty the whole time I was eating at the bar. The 2 nights ago I went in was told it would be 20 minutes for a table in the bar, however the couple who came in behind me (who didn't have reservations) were seated right away at one of the 4 tables that were empty. I guess they don't think a single regular customer counts. I suggest singles start boycotting Applebee's read more

Returning home from a business trip from Maryland we decided to stop for a early dinner. So we selected Applebee's. Great service by Morgan (I believe that was her name) and the food was very good. I've been to this Applebee's a handful of times and it's okay I wouldn't say it's anything super special. The food is good the portions are not huge I personally like to be able to take leftovers home when I go out to eat and that isn't always the case with Applebee's meals. I do enjoy their $1 drinks that they have! The waitresses and waiters that I have all have been wonderful and nice! The wait time can be somewhat long in the evenings on the weekends so sometimes it's nice to do the call ahead. read more
